It’s very common and human to really get obsessed and hung up on even 1% of negativity and 99% of positivity. I’ve had stuff like this happen and how it makes you feel is totally understandable. You’ll be able to figure this stuff out and handle it even better in the future but I know I appreciate your honest feelings on this.

Thanks buddy! It is hard to not get hung up on it, but I’ll learn to not get freaked out by it as time goes on. I really had to get this one off my chest as it went a little beyond just a nasty comment.

Haha, this is great! I love it. Not that a troll upset you of course, but how you responded. I started a channel myself a couple weeks ago and let some troll get in my head a little bit about my American patriotism of all things. I did think about his comment for a full minute, then realized that the glass half empty people should not get my time. I am going to keep this video handy in response to the next troll with nothing better to do but be negative. BTW, I am one of the Tail Air winners! Thanks so much to RedFrameTech and Obsbot! Red, us positive folks vastly outnumber these trolls.

A livestream to pick competition winners sounds like very dull content indeed. This person sounds like a disgruntled entrant whose number didn't come up. I'll guess every other person, winner or loser who entered, takes the result at face value.

I normally wouldn’t, until they start contacting a company that then asks me questions. Then I have no choice but to deal with the troll’s actions. I guess this being the first time this happened on my channel, it freaked me out a little 😅 I’m sure this won’t be the last time..

Hey man! I understand how hard it might be up there. I make open source projects for fun just so that i can feel good about it but it does really get me when people criticize it even if its just the truth. In your case its not the same because you were being called out for something you weren't doing and i understand how hard that might be. Compared to the feeling a good comment gives, a bad comment just drowns everything. Our brain just takes in good comments as not genuine because we hear it too often but a bad one comes off as very genuine because its not something we expect. This will be a part of you as your channel grows and i hope you can fight over it. Most of these comments are just rage bait for the fact that they dint win and just putting their anger out there. In case of a random giveaway i recommend you use a comment selector and record that as a proof as that's what most youtubers do (not sure if you did that sry im typing this before research) Either ways i hope for the best for the future of this channel. I would like to see you grow :)

You’re absolutely right about how much impact a nasty comment can have (in this case a little more than a comment), but I will learn to not be so freaked out by it as time goes on. Just had to get this one off my chest.. Someone else also suggested screen recording the winner selection process. It’s a simple, yet great idea. Thanks!

Even i have this thing where i have to respond to every negative comments hoping they change their mind about me that i forget why i started doing what im doing in the first place. I hope you continue to do what makes you happy because that is pretty much the ultimate goal in life, to live a life that has value to yourself. We often forget about that, we end up trying to please everybody that we forget to give ourself the respect we deserve. I don't have anything to live for and i think that's what makes life beautiful because i get to choose what i would want to do with, not everyone appreciates that freedom. Too many things to say to this and not sure I can be concise and still say what I want. First off, I want to say that you come across as a very authentic person - honest, up front, no "sheen" (which is a good thing). Anyone who has actually watched your videos and has an ounce of common sense would recognise this and it's a wonderful quality in a time when we are getting so much "performance". If you've seen Gerald Undone or Joshua Valor, they also have this quality. I value it highly. Following on from that, I think (and I could be wrong) that this is going to make life on the internet a little more difficult for you. People can be utterly toxic online. Not everyone is, but some can be and are. While the "giveaway scammer" comment might be mild compared to some others, it is still effectively an attach on your integrity and it is no surprise that you took it to heart, because (again) you are an authentic person. I'm afraid you're going to have to explore strategies to deal with this internally because it's going to happen and it's going to be worse. It won't be the ONLY comments you ever get. But they will happen. Find a way to protect your heart, you know?' While I would never have thought this necessary, maybe you SHOULD record the process - maybe that's the thing to learn from this. Use OBS, record the process, and if anyone requires proof, you have it. Hell, put it on a Patreon and say "you're welcome to view the process on my Patreon for only $10" I'm kidding, I know you would never do this!! But screen record it anyway so you have a record of it. Someone else commented that a live stream of this would be dull. I'm inclined to agree. Keep being you, keep taking your channel in the direction(s) you want to. Try to find ways to be less affected by the inevitable nonsense. You're very obviously a decent soul :)

I really appreciate your comment! And you make some good suggestions. A simple screen recording is a great idea (though I wish it wouldn’t be necessary)! I will keep doing giveaways, because it’s wonderful to be at a point where I’m able to give stuff away to people. That said, I will adjust my strategies to hopefully avoid most of the issues. There are some idiots out there Seb. The internet allows them to hide and be cowardly. It is very disheartening and it takes a lot of time and emotional energy to deal with the crap they stir up. Keep being you and trust your judgment. Take care. I don’t know the laws in the Netherlands but where I live making such false statements is defamation. I’d just block/ ban the guy.

Considering how many people still believe the Earth is flat, you simply cannot prove the truth to those who are unwilling to accept it. Even if you live streamed the selection process, they would find a way to call that a scam too.

Hey I for one trust you! Doing a channel and a giveaway is a lot of work that takes time away from your personal life. The people who think everything is rotten try to project their sadness to the rest of us. I am glad you at least got it off your chest. Rant about whatever you want. Most times it will be something a lot of us will relate to. I enjoy your channel because you present as a down to earth video/ film enthusiast. I like that. The trolls online will always be around lurking looking to infect their misery on the rest of us. Thank you for putting out videos that I find interesting and informative. I hope you continue to enjoy what you do and ignore the comments from the few who look for bad in everything and everyone. They are just simply wrong, thanks for your videos!

I think the reason people are so aggressive about giveaway scammers is because it happens alot. Offcourse you shouldnt have to defend yourself, theres just so much rotten fruit, people dont trust eachother anymore. Stupidity exists everywhere. It's a tragedy you have to justify yourself . It's like casting Pearls before Swine. You're one of the best hosts in RU-vid land. Don't give them space in your head or air on your channel. He is one little freak amongst the thousands of people who appreciate you being here. You have a great channel, unfortunately the troll got what they wanted. The internet has allowed the worst of humanity to crawl out from under their rock and get way more attention than they deserve. Well Red Frame. The truth has a certain ring to it and I think we all see a person of seriousness and good. Plenty of scammers on RU-vid, but usually they are the big channels and hosts that are somewhat RU-vid famous. I am surprised that you would even explain/address the small minded fools who call you out like that. I would not let this stop you from the course of building your excellent channel and providing give a way's. I'm sure there are many trials and tribulations to building a channel like this. So this is just one thing, ignore the noise and carry on. That being said I do not every participate in giveaways. Just being real here.
