You definitely have to change the weatherstripping around the rear hatch it’s supposed to be one piece the corners shouldn’t be split it’ll start leaking water into the hatch space

That hatch glass weather stripping should all be 1 piece (no gap in the corners)

Tires have expiration dates on them, some shops wont mount them if there over 6 years old I think and they could also fail you for a sticker if they wanted to. I bought a set of Mickey Thompson Baja claws off craigslist once and went to get them mounted and the guy told me they were past there due date and wouldn't mount them so I had to go to a sketchy shop in the hood to get them mounted.

Hey Steve. This Corvette is definitely the best project on RU-vid . There are a lot of C4 people out here and nobody is making content on a regular basis. For used C4 parts have you looked into Mirrock Corvette ? They take nice C4's, and part them out. A lot of Street Rods and Restomods like to use the aluminum Formula One C4 suspension. They sell engines, trans, rearends for C4 repowers. Double check, but I believe all the '88's had Dana 44 positraction rearends. You keep saying you are selling this car, but I know a lot of people, me included, hope you keep it. Maybe put the LS engine out of Grand Pa in it. Really liking this build, and you're just getting started. Take care Bud

The rusty screws call your local Ace Hardware see if they carry Hillman Group fastners. Hillman has a great variety of 1980s and 90s interior trim replacement screws.

Company called zip corvette or ecklers corvette is where I bought all my interior parts for my 92. They’re both a little pricey but I’ve never had a product that I was unsatisfied with

I did some checking and 2 of the things they make Bio hazard on is 1 is some one died in the car and 2 is the car was in a flood.

Dehumidifier you need one in there for like 5 days straight.

I have a set of those center caps. I bought them off of ebay years ago. I thought they would fit my 3rd gen Camaro wheels but they were slightly bigger. I broke a couple tabs off of one but the other three are still new and intact. I'm sure they're aftermarket but they look just like the one you have.

Dynamat the bottom / floor area before installing the new interior. I did this to my C4 and greatly reduced road noise. You can get some knock off products that do the same thing that are cheaper than Dynamat also.

Honestly I'd love to see someone put an ls7 or lsa in one of these vettes. Modern suspension, brakes, classy 18 in wheels staggered. And just have a clean body and nice interior. That would be a cool build noone else has done

There's a fresh Corvette at my local pull and save in pasco Washington I will have to check and see what color the interior's is the car itself is white so it might have a black interior

Those good snow flak wheels are rare and I forget how many years used them but finding them with the W6 is really going to be hard. But hopefully you might find them even from a Grand Prix - and I think another model used them. I will check my area also.

Im telling you contemporary corvette in Bristol pa will have everything u need they also carry gta/Camaro parts too

The only thing i hated about the C4's was the drain on the rear window they always retain water, i had 2 96 Corvettes, they are fun cars and they still look good even today.

Try Montana Gold or Platinum spray paints. They perform great on interior auto plastics and such. This is a personal review.

You should buy some sound deadening stuff with the silver wrap on the one side.

Haha...Bought a new 1989 (C-4)...Engine, trans and rear end...Awesome!...Interior? The worst!...In the dealer's shop over thirty times in 14 months...Every piece of trim broke...Dash went black twice...glass roof was replaced twice as it shrank from the Nor-Cal heat...both seat belts stopped working, vanity mirrors fell out of the visor and so much more...but the final thing was...after they replaced the roof the car leaked water so bad it filled the doors with enough water that it leaked out of the speakers!...Seven trips to the glass shop didn't even slow the water down..So...I'm hoping you leaky heater core is the only reason you have water inside the car...Did I learn anything from that experience?...Guess not, I'm driving Corvette number four...number 5 will be a Mid-engine Z06...I am enjoying watching you bring this old girl back to life, good luck and I will be watching!

Around the windshield the black paint is chipped off. I just used some model paint and it touched up nicely. All these C4 parts are cheap.

My dad bought a 1994 cadillac fleetwood for my brother but the sunroof and windshield leaks so it has mold in it now and its bad worse than the c4.
