Hey Bro'! Thanks! 😁👍 You have convinced me the paint on my 84 C4 w/17k is much better than I thought it was! I thought it had been redone its so nice. The over spray is from the factory! Weepa! I can't believe how nice looking my car is for a 37 year old paint job. 🤑
My brother would be proud! Always had a driveway, side yard, garage, front of house on street...completely filled with project cars! Wasn’t happy unless 6-8 of them! 😂
Wow I just bought my c4 few months back and the guy said he's the only owner and never had it repainted. But their was overspray on a few spots and he swore up and down he never repainted it. I kept telling him to tell me the truth and he insisted he was. In the end I still bought it. Enjoy my c4 soo much
yep, the "overspray" causes quite a bit of confusion when they cars are moving from one owner to the next. For most people, the thought of GM painting flat black paint over the car's original paint color seems to be a bit odd. It also depends how good of a job the blackout guy was doing that particular day. The Aqua car has a much better blackout job done then the Competition Yellow car.
When i toured the factory in 93 there was a 40th that came off the line all the way to the end with a primer driver door with writing on it saying they wanted to replace the door but jim said no . Lol
Also in 93 on that tour my dad was a big wig GM executive and I got to drive a 40th off the line out back to the track.also thwy were building thw Cadillac there in a different part .we werent allowed in to see
Yep, seen that quite a few times, especially with the Grand Sports that required two trips through the paint booth to first apply the White base coat followed by the Admiral Blue coat. I don't think it was a matter of them being sloppy, it has more to do with the large surface area of the hood.
Ahh yes, a man after my own heart. I love fancy looking paint jobs, but I appreciate well worn in cars even more. It's like looking at a nicely worn in baseball glove👍
Yep, as far as I know the only change to the painting process was from solvent based to water based paints in the early 90's. There are some very cool assembly line videos GM produced that showed the construction of the chassis and trip through the paint booth.
Yep, there is an adjustment for the windows that will solve that problem for you. That's on my video to do list right now. Will try to get it out soon, as this car needs the windows adjusted as well.
Excellent, another C4 fan😁. You must not be keeping up with pricing on the later C4's, and you must be really wasting your time chatting with me🤣. It's all good, not everybody likes the Corvettes I profile or the videos I make about them, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Enjoy the rest of your weekend👍.
I get gawkers everytime I drive the lil Beasty, I'm gonna drive it for a little while and flip it, The way pricing is right now I will come out ahead*. I get to use the car and get my money back, thats a sweet deal 😁 * I do my own work on the car so I have an advantage. If I had to pay someone it would be quite costly to own.
