Also was able to day 2, things looked to be lining up as I ended up in a very strong RUG drazi list. Unfortunately fell short in my last round to advance again

1:33:05 Should have tutored for a land and used Thraban Charm to deal 6 damage to their flier. Instead tutor's a 1 mana 1/1 flier to chump.

Surprised you did not go all in for R/B artifact after pick 11 pyretic rebirth. That card wheeling means the archetype is absolutely open, and if you are the only one drafting it is a great deck.

i manged to finish the first draft 3/1 , drafted a great white green deck in the 2nd draft, won the first game and got kicked out of the tournament with 1/0, 17 lands stats say im 1/1 but when checking details there is only 1 match, which i won, thanks wotc

Did you not finish all your matches within the allotted time slot, perhaps? Can't think of any other reason why the client would have kicked you out of day 2 as long as you had matches left to play.

@@ks93939 no, i played right at the start of draft 2, i Queued and cancled, changed 1 Land and Queued again, a friend told me Sometimes Arena gives you a loss when you cancle Queue at the right time...

The queue and cancel thing is the problem. Or really the bug related to it. That happened to me twice when playing on mobile. I queued, cancelled and got back to the event page with no losses but than after some time I got a loss without playing. Maybe I was still paired in the background and timed out? In my case I filled a complaint and got my entry back but on such a high stakes event such a terrible bug is incredibly frustrating

@@DrTeeth-ei5ge i looked online and found more cases where this has happened some are years old, crazy this bug is not fixed yet i wonder what my compensation will be, ill post an update if support ever gets to my ticket

I got in contact with Support and got added to the invite list for day 2 for the next Arena Open, which is OK but i exspected more(draft 2 day 2 acces for example)

In the last game you could bring back transmogrant before casting familiar considering it has affinity. I know it would change nothing in the end, but just wanted to point it out.

To be fair, the depth defiler had a bunch of exalted counters. I think the play you made was correct. Just unfortunate they had a wrath

In M3G3 wouldn't it been better to get a land and charm their flier? You were in a dire state anyway and dead to a removal but probably better than getting a chump blocker

I don't think you should ever be going black white even if the lane is open but to each their own! You definitely found some success with it.

I went 2-2 with my orzhov deck. I had some really good rares with crabomination, shilgengar, sorin, pearl-ear, persist... I lost the first round 1-2 against boros aggro and my 2nd loss was to land screw :(

I was 3 and 1 in the first draft with that loss being due to my own sloppiness. In the second draft I lost the first round after my deck crapped on me game 2 and 3.

So round 2 game 3. You were clearly tilted from the wrath game and I get that. I think you could have played the early turns better. Turn 3 I would have played Gargoyle into his slith, better on your mana. You can fire off marauder anytime. Or both if needed. If he attacks with no first strike you trade, otherwise you take 2 and let him spend his energy. With double Gargoyle I'd be looking to hold onto the maruaders a little longer see what you draw. You may have even bought 2 extra turns to find your transmgrant.

I often feel like you draft slightly worse in these tournaments. You are trying so hard to find the lane that you commit too late. I think not knowing where you actually wanna go when you are already late in pack two is not a great place to be. But I personally think knowing when to stay open and when to commit is one of the hardest things in draft anyway, so no judgment

Skips over the affinity dragon for a knot master and then says “haven’t seen much red” and “we don’t have any bombs” 🙄 pack 2 pick seven affinity dragon is a pretty big signal lmao. Red black was wide open in the last pack too and I think it’s a much more synergistic archetype

Numot's plays sometimes don't make sense to me, and I know he's better than me. For instance at around 1:12:00 he has two flyers that could attack unblocked, and his life isn't low or anything, but he doesn't attack... would someone please be willing to explain to me why he didn't? Same as at the beginning of the second round, he could have attacked into the player's 1/1 to trade, but didn't, even though Numot's creature can be brought back... Just wanting to understand the logic. Thanks to whomever answers!

i'd say it's a classic "Who's the Beatdown" moment. Even though his creatures are slightly better, his life total is slightly lower, one of the cards in his hand deals 3 damage to him when he plays it, and if he attacks with the familiar and his gargoyal gets removed its a slippery slope to stabilize.
