This is Astrid’s Story. One we often see repeat as a shelter in Greece.
Astrid was found amidst busy traffic, dangerously crossing the road. After narrowly avoiding one car and another driving over her, Astrids rescuers snatched her from harm’s way.
‘With no obvious owner or mother in sight, there was nothing we could do but take her into our care’
Desperate, her rescuers reached out to shelters far and wide, even as far as Istanbul. On a holiday, Natasa answered their call, regardless of Hopelands current need to relocate.
Arriving at Hopeland, Astrid was brought inside by the volunteers.
‘The house, surrounded by a garden, felt like a real home-a sanctuary like no other in a thousand miles!’
But now, Hopeland continues to need your help. Our lease has been cut short, and we need to find a new home to continue our mission. For four years, Hopeland has been a safe haven for countless souls, a place where love and compassion know no bounds.
Here, countless animals have found solace and a second chance at life. Hopeland is a beacon of hope, a place where the innocent are shielded from a world that can be cruel and unkind.
