I felt this way a few months ago. I also have 5 children and my wife stays at home. I lost my job due to layoffs in late January. It has been sort of like a reset for me. It shook my life up. God has provided everything to stay afloat. God works in mysterious ways and this unfortunate event has put a spark back in me that I hadn’t felt in a long while. Scriptures from Job, Ecclesiastes, and Proverbs really spoke to me. God bless you and your family!!!

Russ many of us are similar. When I'm not actively creating something that challenges me all of life becomes subdued. As for the RC's YES! Without my kids I would feel too old to be bashing RC's around, luckily they love them just as much as I do.

I found your channel just before you got into Stanley Meyers and I feel like I found you in the right place a the right time, such an inspiration. I was young and I grew up watching your videos, I remember when you first announced that you were a father. I must admit I haven't been an avid follower as of late. Russ, I have been watching since you were working on the Papp engine. I personally enjoy whatever content you put out. As much as I would like to see the crazy builds from the past I realize that you are quite busy and can't spend all night hiding in the garage anymore. Enjoy every minute you can with your family and God will guide you in your adventures through this life.

Best advice I can give you is to stay positive and to carry on no matter what. Keep in mind you have a lot going for you. I mean think about it, all the people surrounding you, you get to work on what you are passionate about every day, and you get to live life. Always live the moment and don't take the blessings for granted. Do what you can to keep your children happy too. If I was in your situation, I would take a break from the hobby and focus on the children. Watch an old Disney movie with them or read them bedtime stories, do what you gotta do to make them happy. One Disney movie that I like a lot is Sleeping Beauty. K I think I rambled enough now, take care of yourself and only positive - James Boo

I can relate @Russ it's tough I know been suffering depression myself for many years, a hobby does help but sometimes it crashes down hard on you like a ton of bricks, you just gotta keep fighting it off, you will probably remember my stories about my sister's suicide due to Post natal depression, it never truly heals.

RC, seems fun to do but... not really interested myself. You said once playing with the coils made you sick. I noticed the same myself. So I made a shield out of hardboard, with aluminum foil on both sides, and now I feel fine after testing. Maybe it works for you too.

Hi Russ. Thanks for sharing your work Helps me look forward to what NOT to expect on my Energy Reversed Transfer thing based on, Einstein-Cartan-Evans (ECE) unified field theory. Ideas that you have shared have had undoubtedly helped people be more creative it sure has helped me. Here is an idea i've been working on that may interest you or maybe your audience It starts with a tetrahedron a triangle inside of a triangle one triangle has all magnetic north poles facing inwards the other has all magnetic south poles facing inwards. You might think what good is this but in the middle of this tetrahedron it creates a pinch point that may turn into a reactor. How many ideas could you come up with for experiments. Maybe you could use electromagnets to turn on and off the opposing triangles modulating the frequency. ideas, ideas, ideas keep going.

Hi Russ, Perform the apophatic method to your life. Cut away everything false or unnecessary leaving over only the essential. Ask god by a sincerity for what is at stake to help you. Be completely thorough with this process even if it means you do away with God and you dare ask the deepest part of yourself. You shared a lot with your passion and it really ignited a lot of people because they saw how serious you were. It takes enormous resources and creative power which at one time you certainly demonstrated More than most of us had ever seen before. But the responsibilities and obligations are clearly wearing you down. firstly There's an enormous stress of having people try to live through you. my advice to you at least for the moment is to only do what is absolutely necessary. That may mean removing a job for all I know that may mean putting the RC stuff aside I have no idea. But for the time being just reduce things to Only what is absolutely necessary. From the intention of restoring your well-being and balance in family life if necessary even ask God to help you to Do only the essential things needed to restore an essential life Blessings

I watch several creators that are just brilliant and I feel so worthless in comparison. But they also say they have problem with mental health. My two cents are you must not push yourself too hard for too long. Make sure to get some fun in your life to get your mind some variation.

Russ, I have elected to go through life alone. I think you know how difficult my path is. I face all things alone. I am burned out, passion is difficult to keep kindled for anything. I have three dogs. They keep me grounded. I roll in the dirt with my dogs... we get up and shake it off. Rejuvenation is simple but, difficult to find. This earth is my church... I can't believe in any book. I commune with nature to get to my temple. My temple is my body, nature is the reminder to do what is correct for my biologic needs. I keep it very simple. No drugs, no sex, no thoughts of sex, no food that is not completely natural. No doctors, no veterinarians. I would be honored to be in a group with you. Most can't stand the rigors of my life to stay connected to me. Most if not all, have vices to feed. I'm not perfect. I simply like a very simple life. It keeps me sane and healthy.

I think it is the creative people that have this type of struggle. I have had serious troubles with stress in the 2020's, to the point that it causes physical illnesses. I had to leave my design job just to save myself. The problem with this "new normal" they forced apon us, highly productive people will be dumped on even more to balance out the failing economy. (and lazy people) RU-vid as a career sounds so good, but I don't think it is easy at all. My videos have changed a lot, to more of a automotive and racing direction. I still have plans to do some Arduino things, but guess what, it will be race car related. lol I'm now 46 years old and I want to do things that I have always wanted to do in my younger years. I gots no time for what other people want from me! lol Be true to yourself, keep your priorities, and weed out the over demanding areas of your life.

Don't let RU-vid burn you out. If you have a lot to say just make small episodes or parts. I wouldn't even worry so much about editing. I have video's that explain how to do something yet I get people asking how to do it. I can't make it any simpler they'll just have to figure it out on there own. It's your RU-vid channel make it the easiest and fun way for your self and don't worry about everyone else.

The only thing that will truly help is getting to know Jesus Christ. He took upon him all of the sorrows and sins of the world for every person that will ever live. He knows you personally. He knows your exact pain and will help you get through it if you turn to him in prayer. I suffered with severe depression due to seizures. I lost my friends and my family did not support me through it. I was confined to a bed for years. I turned to Jesus Christ when I felt like I couldn’t go on any longer. I asked for forgiveness of my sins and prayed for help and strength. It completely changed my life and replaced the sorrow and deep never ending depression with love, happiness and gratitude for a challenge that helped me grow as an individual. God bless.

It can help you, but I think You must start to talk with your wife about LOVE - harmony between men an women. It is hard, but LOVE is kindness/ not money. If your wife love money this is not LOVE.
