Barely started this episode, and already things are looking fun! Also, here's another good tip, one that I got from your own Discord in fact! Shift+Control+Click immediately selects the locomotive you click, saving you the trouble of opening its context menu and hitting "Select".
We sure could use a shortcut for applying handbrakes to cars by just clicking anywhere on the car too. Focusing on the brake or using the UI is awkward when running ES&D ops
TIP: Be careful around turntable pits in Railroader. I once sent a train in the direction of the one in Bryson, went to tend to my passenger train, and the next thing I knew my train had browned and was doing 50-60+ miles per hour in the opposite direction while derailed. I believe I have discovered the Railroader space program, or at least the closest thing to it considering the trains are permanently attached to splines.
@@Hyce777 the bryson turntable is very prone to this. actually it's the only turntable i've seen merge trains and tenders trying to couple on the table
With multiplayer the pole shunting method might be a fun feature in the future, can't see that going wrong as you highball through the yard and another player places one at the front of your train going 40 next to a cut of oil cars 😂
have you seen the new setting that lets you set how much the interchange class 1 hates you? you can now set how nicely your deliveries are blocked at the interchange from group by destination to utter chaos

You had a cruise missile of kicked cars coming at your choochoo and you switched to another loco across the map. What did you think was going to happen? I was sitting there watching it like "Hyce, uh, Hyce, missile coming in, HYCE!" and then you switched to it in time to see the wreckage. This was a fun episode where you got to (in the voice of Patrick Star) "do some kicking!" Thanks for the entertaining content as always!
where are they available from? the custom whistles used to be on nexus, they were taken down and still as of just a minute ago are still not available from nexus. Assuming it's not bugged out in some way

Here in the Uk in the 1890's the Midland railway had a batch of Baldwin and Shenectady moguls just like your No2, look up Midland 2511class. This was because of a national workshop strike, the same reason the Lynton & Barnstaple got their Baldwin

For stations with 2 tracks, both tracks can load and unload passengers! It's a useful bit of info I remember reading on the discord server. Doesn't matter which track you're on.

One of my favourite things about your channel is hearing that riff(? I don't know string music terms) at the start of Kenosha and knowing that in about 2 minutes there WILL be cars in the dirt. Best thing is, there may be nothing that has happened yet. The cars might still be stationary even. So I get to anticipate total mayhem. It's just such a nice inside reference with your fans, like, it took me quite a few episodes of RO to identify which intro lead to that accelerating song & final climactic shred! A new viewer would have no idea the first few times..
You know what I want to see? Any of these RR games with a mod that puts a coupler on a handcar......I want to see switching with a handcar. Because reasons. Approx 20:45 missed the opportunity to Ozzieman it up: "the coal hoppa runs from his pursua, to no avail. The steam loco will eventually catch his prey".

Hyce, I suggest using the console to transport places. /tp whittier for example would transport to the Whittier depot. /tp es&dt2 would transport to that locomotive. Very handy.
Ah yes, the derail-by-multitasking. I've run into that (or had it run into me) a few times as well. Surprised your reputation went up after that spectacular accident with the 3, it was looking very brown as it rolled away from that collision.
By now we need a Psyche! and a close call version of Smells Like Kenosha, because that'll add another layer of trepidations and excitement for us viewers. Just thinking about the effects it would have if Hyce, like in this and many previous videos, had called out for Smells Like Kenosha and we either can already hear it or it starts just a few moments after the call out, then at the crescendo Hyce goes PSYCHE! or who else needs new trousers!, that would be epic! Yes, the use would be limited and occasionally add extra editing work, excluding what's needed for the changes to the music, but the entertainment impact would be good. No need to apologize for the mishaps and shenanigans Hyce, it's the extra spice of the content, but in moderation so it doesn't go into inflation by intention, that'll lessen the occasional bite from Kenosha.
One of the first things I did was sell that 10-wheeler when I earned enough money to buy a new loco. I bought the C-25 Consolidation and it is a much much better loco, has the legs to go from Silvia to Bryson with 400 tons of freight every day with no issues. I have since moved on in my single player playthrough to a Decapod and Big Pacific for my main Locomotives to go from Andrews to Silvia with Freight and Passengers, but I still use that little Consolidation for the smaller, more local stuff. I will eventually get online with it but I am having a lot of fun as it is now. 😁
1:03:03 the other day i bought a Pacific and on my first delivery with it i manage to run it straight into a buffer because i lined the wrong switch and then got distracted before i could catch it. Poor girl got browned right away.
Your inability to multitask makes me so very excited for when you get a big freight engine or three, and a big fast express passenger engine too. Though if you want to keep those, you might want to get some extra train crews first!
Kenosha started playing halfway through the big kick... 10:00 and the derailment part of the song happened perfectly when the tender derailed every accident this video was right after a kenosha
Good call hyce with the more fast paced vids, I love this game but I’m not sure my MacBook will be happy running it 😂. So I’ve settled on vicariously playing it through your vids. Something I do play lots though is transport fever 2, I wonder if you’d enjoy it?
The physics in this game are stupid, and I found that it slows you down faster if you hook up the bar instead of putting it in the corner. Maybe it could've helped at 36:30

So new here and mainly discovered you via the algorithm. I know east from west, but I swear in game I get turned around. I loved your review though because I think it was quite on point. I wish they would allow time compression (not just scaling) so that when you have trains moving between points you can speed it up. Once I do everything I want to speed up to the next point where "I the manager" need to intervene. I am amazed at how much fun it is, I just hate that it reaches a point where you spend a day for a day. I think as tools and the AI improves this should flow better. Like I would love to be able to script cuts and switching and let the AI just play it out. Also if you hold shift when you click the gladhands it will auto switch the valves, and If you hold shift when decoupling it will flip the valves for you.
In a video soon, could you run either a southern 3 chime, a crosby 3 chime, or a baldwin 3 chime? All of your town names in the game are legit local to me in North Carolina and the whistles i shared are all local whistles on engines that still run here today.
If you're only running the passenger train one way a day....give yourself some time for other things and let it sit at the station for 10 minutes or so.
Hyce If there was a little boy steam Locomotive which one would it be? I know there are plenty small steamers but something small but common? What do you think? Also I would like to see a how to video on how to winterize a steam locomotive? I think that would be inserting.
Question.i just watched a short of passing the paperwork thing from the locomotive to the ground. Is that where we got that Merry go round ring grab thing from? It is this a 3/4 idiot questions.
Does the 20% bonus apply to every passenger on the train or just for the ones riding the observation car? Also, does the train’s orientation matter, or can you still receive the bonus even if you push the train instead of pulling it?
