My husband and I were driving to Florida - he's a native Floridan. We crossed the border from GA to FL and suddenly people were passing me like I wasn't there and I was doing 80. I got pulled over in NorCal while driving from Oregon in a 5 wildfire engine convoy on our way to a huge series of fires in LA that was burning down entire neighborhoods. My engine was carrying like 2k pounds of water so as we're climbing the passes on I-5 I was only doing about 70 as we approached some of the bigger hills. Get pulled over and the cop asks me "where's the fire?" The cop freaked out and yelled at our Commander to keep our trucks going because the whole convoy pulled over. Threatens him with his baton and tells him he will arrest him if he doesn't keep going. And we're a full group of only white wildland firefighters.

It's wild. I was detained by police at routine traffic stop because the cop put the wrong license plate in and pulled me over because it was a "hit and run" car from Florida that never was in Florida (I'm in Ohio). I was put in handcuffs and when I asked why, they wouldn't tell me until after. 4 additional cop cars with a K9 unit showed up as well. And they tried to cover it up by saying "Oh, call the BMV and make sure your social security isn't linked to Florida". I called the BMV to be safe and and they said "Yeah the cop had to have just put in the wrong license plate."

Tyreek Hill didn’t do anything that justified anything more than a speeding ticket, those cops were out of control scared and angry and couldn’t explain why.They decided to lie on camera, that Tyreek did not comply, even when he did, he gave the police officers the ID they just got upset that his window was not all the way down and rather than explain their fears they got angry and had an outburst worse than my 5 year old niece

20mph over is a big ticket but that's all it is. The first car I ever test drove as a 19yo I got a ticket for going 24mph over. But that's all it was, a ticket. Nobody ever asked me to exit the vehicle, no arrest. And this wasn't even my car but a dealership car. No registration.

It's crazy how violent cops are in the US. When I was studying in Japan, I saw a guy who was drunk and getting arrested. He was literally trying to fight the cops, but they just were in a circle around in pushing and holding him in place. All of them were calm and just focused on keeping him from swinging. Didn't even throw him on the ground, they just stood i n a circle with their hands out keeping him contained. In the US he would have been getting tased, thrown on the sidewalk, and pinned with a knee in the back while they cuffed him aggressively. It took more cops, but the situation was so much less violent. Having police without them abusing the people they're supposed to serve is not impossible, the fact that we can't seem to manage it is awful
