Wouldn't you like to make your ranch a documented model of how ranching should be done? Get in touch with the Savory Institute, I can be of help. (this is not profit driven but rather a deep care for the land and the American culture which is so depended on the land being healthy)

You could learn alot about reading the land and learn how your management of the livestock can actually continuously improve the land and the stocking rate. I have sources. You could take your course on a 2 week course, that would be so good all of you learning together.

Just wanted to say thank you for all ur videos. Being a disabled deputy that only worked midnight shifts which I loved I’ve have stayed on that schedule. Along with my dreams of always wanting to learn to fly helicopters but that dream went out the door when my arm was severed. By the grace of god they where able to reattach it just minus the shoulder and use from shoulder area to elbow. But being up all night I enjoy myself and my dogs in my office watching ur videos sometimes over and over and I know ur videos aren’t cheap to make so at least wanted to say thank you to u,ur family and friends for taking the time out of ur family life and no sleep for making what I believe are some of if not the best RU-vid videos out there cause there not just trucks or boats or planes there just about everything out there. So thank you god bless and be safe

Using the helicopter may not be the best way to move cattle but it does make it a whole lot easier to make sure that you have all of them and there is no stragglers. Its always amazing to see just how well you all work together no matter what you are doing. Great job and great video.

Fellas- some instructions on moving herding type animals- horses/cows/goats doesn't matter. Animals in a herd, especially ones that have been together for a length of time, establish a hiearchy amongst themselves- a pecking order if you will. The trick to moving herds are watching them to identify the cow at top of the pecking order. Use two riders ( we typically use horses, but 4 wheelers work, even on foot with a stick, to move that lead cow where you want them all to go. Work that cow from the sides, never directly behind her, and the rest will follow. Put remaining cowboys behind rest of herd -way back 75-150 yards- just to keep them movings. Stragglers will travel out of herd to left or right- just watch for them to break off constantly. Catch them early and they will go right back in place. I'm from florida, grew up working cows. 2200 head that ranged over 6500 acres all year long. Broughtem in 2x a year 1- to castrate the bulls and trestem for worms and ticks 2 ND to seperate market size steers. Find that lead cow and the work is over that lead Kyle will do everything for you. If you run a bull with that herd be careful he can mess up your program. a lot of times its smart to separate him before you try to move that herd- he will try to protect his cows. If you can push him to a catch pen and put them in a trailer you're better off. But be careful if he's been with them cows for several years he'll kill himself trying to hurt you, no joke

Great stuff! looks like a good time as usual! What a beautiful country we have. Utah certainly holds some of the best scenery. Very envious of that helicopter footage. Thanks

Used to move the cattle with trucks, 3 wheelers, and horses in Kansas back in the 80's.

Always fun, definitely cost effective!!! Jealous of the land. Living my dream for my kids to be the first one in the family to acquire land up there and pass it down when I expire :)

Here in Australia mustering is done on a lot of cattle stations/ranches by helicopter as it is the most cost efficient method of mustering the stations in the center of the country.

🚁It brought back memories of moving a couple hundred head on a ranch in South Dakota in 1968 where I worked that summer. I was lucky and had a Honda trike to use. Couldn't ask for more fun at work. Love your vlog/blog/show. The telling of being poor and always wanting a pool made me feel good that you are succeeding in your life. Keep up doing it right.🚁🏴‍☠️

Helicopter roundups are common in the north of Australia where cattle properties are vast. Helis are mostly used as spotters, but also can move cattle out of difficult terrain. 450 acres is a nice little cattle farm. Big boys have 450 square miles.
