Charleston is a welcoming city. There is so much to see and do. The people are pleasant and it has a charm about it. I like the art gallery and shopping in the stores. The resturauht are great

I love this video, found it when I was considering relocating. We ended up going to Scotland, but I regularly comeback to the video for the music. Love the drone footage too still very much tempting to come to Charleston.

I love Charleston. On my first visit downtown, I had an incredibly strong sense of deja vu and felt as if I was coming home. On subsequent visits, the sense of belonging there always returns.
I want to go to there. Seriously, those shots with that instrumental are so chill, I could watch this video all day. I want Charleston to be my next home.

Awesome camera work of my homeland! I can tell you did dolly shots and definitely helicopter no doubt, steady cam, but some were just like WOW! beautiful scenery too!

The song is an instrumental called "I'm God," by Clams Casino. It was used by the rapper Lil B at some point for a song of the same title ("I'm God"). The beat uses a sample from an Imogen Heap song -- "Just for Now".

I just moved from Charleston to TX and I miss it so much. (Just moved is inaccurate as I moved almost 2 1/2 years ago but I still remember it like it was yesterday)
I doubt it is the birthplace of bbq but it probably is the birthplace of mustard based bbq, i know I never had it until I moved here. cavemen used to bbq after all, so did American Indians, but the Europeans were kind enough to introduce hogs to america
mikey mcdoogle The low country of South Carolina actually uses vinegar based sauce while the midlands are known for the mustard base because that's where many of the german immigrants settled, and the piedmont uses a tomato base. Loosely speaking, of course.
+classclown2392 Mustard Sauce is also part of the German culture in Charleston as well. Charleston was were it was first introduced with the influx if German immigrants of the 1830's. Part of my blood line is German and my very Charleston family has always eaten mustard sauce. Vinegar base is the oldest of all the 'sauces' and it also comes from the Lowcountry. The difference is the mustard sauce penetrated further inland with the German immigrants spreading throughout the state.

@Kristin Kelsey... There's PLENTY to do. And if you don't like the town, just leave. It's pretty simple. If you can't take pride in where you live, especially in a city as BEAUTIFUL and historically rich as ours is, then you don't need to be here.

It has some crime but not much. Orlando and Miami and other larger cities have much more of a crime rate then Charleston. North Charleston is a really nice place to I like that neighborhood :-)
Hi, I live in Connecticut, and I've been thinking on moving to South Carolina and attending either Charleston College or Clemson University. I'd like to know if this is such a friendly place as the ratings on google and magazines say, for where I currently live people think they are so smart and are always boasting about having money and having a high IQ, and they say that southern people are stupid, but I don't think so, and I hope to be able to move to SC next Year but I'd like to know how life is here. IF people are truly friendly, and if there are jobs and if it is, forsooth, a nice place to live. THANKS! P.s. If you could please also tell me which university is better Charleston or Clemson I'd also be thankful! :)
Hey Sabrina! I was born and raised in Charleston my whole life (actually Mt. Pleasant, so 30 mins away). I love Charleston and I am proud of it. Although Charleston is in South Carolina and gets a bad rep for it, Charlestonians are highly intellectual and love talking to people that they don't even know. You can always tell a true Charlestonian apart from a "foreigner" by how friendly they are to you. I currently go to Va. Tech but I have tons of friends that go to both College of Charleston and Clemson. Clemson is out in the country (about 4 hours from Charleston) and is more of a science and engineering school. While College of Charleston is located right in the heart of historic downtown and is a liberal arts school. If you like hipsters or city folk, then C of C is your answer. If you like a little bit of country and the outdoors, then Clemson is for you.
