The Cup is always fun! Never opened it, and I would probably be scared af opening it, but it’s really fun to watch. Thank you for sacrificing your money for our entertainment 🙏
Great break, brother. Great pacing. All great names too. Love the Honorable #s. Always have him in my pools, just so I can watch those high octane late games!
Probably would of been a decent tin if it was opened back when the product came out which is the problem I find with older products, too many players value fall over time. Monahan is really nice with shoulder patches. 14-15 is a much better option with much better 99 and 249 rookies. Gaudreau and Horvat are good 99's, Ekblad, Teravainen and Drouin are decent not to mention several good 249's: Kuznetsov, Binnington, Vasilevskiy, Pastrnak (should get a good replacement card in redemption draw), Klingberg, Nurse and Willy Karlsson are decent. On top of that I find 14-15 has less non autos, better chance of four or even five autos in a tin and I've seen multiple case breaks lately with three big Draisaitl auto. Unfortunately 14-15 is going up in price however
i bought a box of OLD readers digest books at a yard sale , while i was reading them four 1950 era hockey cards fell out . all are personally autographed in ink , not a printed signature two are gordie howe rookie cards , one is jean beliveau and the other is glen hall . there are b/w one is color . a collector store in wpg. said they are worthless but offered me 10 bucks for stopping by , another person wanted to trade his 20'000 dollar boat for them , never watched a hockey game in my life ,but i heard of gordie howe , now gretzky,s rookie card traded for a million without a personal autograph . what are these cards worth ?
Gretzky card itself wasn't that much. It was sent to a company (Beckett grading services) and analyzed (surface, corners etc.), then it gets a "grading score" out of 10. Higher the better. And most of the time if a person has a auto on a card that isn't there as done by the card producer (company) then it is a damaged card and it greatly decreased the value of the card.
Recently pulled 2 silver Chalice cards one of ZDeno Chara and one of Bobby Clarke just wondering if youd know what they're worth. Pulled it from Crown Royale 13-14
Look up the price card value in: Beckett Hockey Card Monthly It is the price card for hockey cards (they have ones for all sports and things like Magic, Pokémon etc.). They also do a yearly one which is around 5 inches thick and obviously costs more to buy.
Just getting back into the hobby and was wondering where the best place to buy cheap cards is? I’ve been looking on eBay, but are there better alternatives?
I am often tempted to open older "The Cup" series', but the potential for an expired redemption and using UD's horrible redemption raffle (I literally got nothing from them for an SPA Bo Horvat Future Watch Auto Rookie Patch) for those discourages me every time. All things considered in there, you did okay and the break could have definitely been a lot worse. It could have certainly been stronger, but you got no redemptions and names who are either playing in the NHL today or who had great careers.
Upper deck would consider a log of shit as a big hit.. they want your money and believe their cards are worth buying when they're not.. 187 bucks if you combine it.. but realistically, you'll get 40 dollars for all those cards on ebay..
People know the risk involved in buying the Cup. When you buy a box or tin, that’s your gamble not UD’s fault. They don’t decide the value of their cards
@@ThatReadingGuy28 Agreed, but I think we're talking more about the risk/reward. It simply isn't worth the outlay of $$$ to justify a good card every now and then.
