NF's mixtape hit hard he has really taken it to a different level and I love how he kinda stays with the same style but always has a way to change the meanings he is the only reason I'm still alive today.

I don't get how those NF haters can say his music's just dark. I get so much positivity out of his stuff (I'll admit "Story" def falls a lot darker). And look at where NF's led us: to a person as beautiful as you, with such an inspirational take on life, to inspire the rest of us even more! Now if I could just get past my own self-sabotage, maybe I could get my life angling back upward.

IMO the whole theme of his CLOUDS mixtape is the positive and negative sides of coping with trauma or stress by living w your Head in the CLOUDS... almost to signify the weird and dangerous "comfort" or "moderated" state that comes from substantial periods of depression or serious anxiety. A state where you pop in and out of mindfulness and are not objectively focusing on things most others would think one would be. The comfort is taken from the predictability of negativity or failure when one's biggest fear is of the unknown, but truly it is of inadequacy and ultimately abandonment. Which he describes through shooting up 💉 reminders that ppl leave you... abandonment. Abandonment resulting from perceived inadequacy. Creates the fear of truly revealing one's whole n true self, and in turn makes meaningful bonds and relationships nearly impossible to create because in order to do so TRUST must be both given and acquired... that IS the ultimate bond! Because ppl like myself and NF were consistently emotionally neglected and not shown unconditional love as a child we grew to feel low self worth, as though for some unknown but very real reason our parent(s) rejected us, and before you are old and mature enough to realize the mental health challenges and unhealthy ways of coping w the unacknowledged emotional trauma... it has already been made strong habit in one's mind. Those neural pathways have been built very strong and it is very difficult to change them, but absolutely possible... as well as necessary. Without bonded relationships I fear ppl will not be able to find purpose or meaning in their lives despite their security or quality of life... I know I wasn't able to. Those of us that are lucky enough receive someone who is able to see the positive potential in us in a very genuine way that we have never experienced and we latch on to it immediately thinking we would never have it. Changing behavior and thought is relatively easy at that point, but before that I really struggle for a long time and felt literally as though I would just drift through life unfeeling, alone, and moderately miserable until I died or forced an ending, so I can empathize and relate to NF and see myself back then in too many of his songs to describe! Your reaction was great, and I found your assessments to be very intuitive and accurate... which is praise I rarely feel like giving, so well done. You must have a talent or naturally be very intuitive. Best wishes!
