The ending feels like NF was in the booth so emotional after recording this and he just freestyled the ending to let it all out

the track was originally going to fade out with the piano but they thought it was missing something, so they added the last part in. He did a live yesterday explaining it

I went to the store about 30 minutes ago and was playing this song, the clerk was like "who you listening to?". I said "NF". The clerk went crazy. He was like "oh my God, finally someone else listens to him too." Then we got into a convo about how great NF is and how he doesn't get enough credit for how damn talented he is.

NF actually went live on Instagram the other day to talk about the mixtape. He said that this song was done right after the search and it probably would’ve been on the next album, however, he wouldn’t have it like that because he thought that it was repetitive and like the search. So, he put it on here, which is great because I think this is my favorite song on the mixtape. He also said that he added that rap part at the end after everything else, he didn’t know how to end it he didn’t like ending it without that. Great reaction!

I love that this is titled Drifting (through your mind I feel like) and the chaos of the flows, the volumes, the extra and skewed voices all paint the picture of drifting through a painfully unstable mindset and then the lyrics make that picture incredibly vivid.

this track definitely has one of my favorite choruses and production styles next to dreams (cough* the most slept on track ever cough*). I can just see this video with one of those "gate to gate" flight visuals, and slow motion B&W concert scenes. Just feel that so much on this track, one of my favorites for sure.

This one is my third favourite out of the whole mixtape. I love NF's singing voice, the piano, the production, the switch near the end, and the overall vibe. It's also relatable.
