One thing I've learned over my numerous years in golf is that if a red bow on yer left shoe made you golf better , then EVERY golfer would have a red bow on their left shoe
Shaft in the center of gravity vs shaft off set from the center of gravity. I guess we should all be using a 1” steel bar to putt if we go by this metric.
Check out the Graves Lock N' Roll putter. It is close in design but has adjustable shaft and comes with 2 different shaft links. The prices are about the same.
comments are ignorant 😂 LAB has a video on all those putters you guys mentioned - center shafted, face balanced, toe up. tested on the revealer and all of them are unstable soon as you start the backswing. I think Edel or Axis1 was the only one who did a pretty good job but still had some noticeable torque. LAB's torque balancing is legit, guys.
This is a lab golf advertisement, there are usually 3 different putter balance specs for a standard putter, he just made an add for a putter with a no counter balance spec 😅
The generic putter is if you have an arc to your putt so it’s abit more forgiving with the weight mostly in the toe of the head and the other is if you have a straight strike to it so it doesn’t flop around.
You do know generic putters come with different balances too, just balancing it on your finger can show a row hang v square aligned within the same models
It's extremely stable and has insane forgiveness on slight miss-hits, since I changed to the Link 1 I don't think I've said "pushed it" on a single putt.
For everyone saying it's just face balanced, that's not true. I've used face balanced my whole life and just switched to a lab. The difference is astounding.
Face balance is about where the shaft intersects with the face, not the shape of the head. Center shaft vs heel shaft, farther from the center = more toe-hang. I like a face balanced blade because I have a fairly straight putting stroke, but most mallet heads feel too heavy, causing me to lose distance control
Where is it balanced to? Face balanced means it balances when you point it at the sky. Try it. Grab your face balanced putter and hold the shaft on your finger and it will stay square when pointed to the sky. Now tell me when do you putt with the putter pointing at the sky? Once you put it at address it wants to pull open because it is no longer aiming where it is balanced. This doesn't mean you can't putt with it, it just means you are compensating during the stroke for it trying to pull open.
Face-balanced putters are designed for people with a more straight putting stroke, while toe-hang putters are suitable for those who slightly open the putter back as it aids in squaring the putter. The toe hang of blade putters can be altered by adding led tape and weights, and the position of the shaft in the middle does have a slight impact on the amount of toe hang same with putters that have the shaft closer to the heel.
@@stevenarmstrong5364 just about every mallet putter that has the shaft on the heel is faced ballanced thats juts how most putters are made most blade putters that have the putter on the heel have toe hang
Also, my whole point of the comment was that they were using their mallet putter versus a blade putter. A better comparison would be a mallet versus a mallet.
That “generic putter” swinging open IS THE POINT. it’s meant to correct putting strokes with excessive rolling of the face. A face balanced putter is great if your putting stroke is dead straight back and straight through which not many people have
No matter what putter you use, the face is going to do whatever your hands cause it to do when you stroke the ball. You aren't going to use that contraption on the golf course, so this demonstration means absolutely nothing. Just find a putter that feels good and you can line up consistently and learn how to use it.
You missed the most important part of the demonstration. Instead of squaring the face before making the stroke do the opposite. Spin the face and then make the stroke. Or make the face facing the opposite direction of the target and make your stroke and watch how the face will move and settle on line with the target. That is the selling point.
Lab is a gimmick. Putters are weighted and shaft positioned for your swing path. Lab putter literally is only good for people with a perfect straight back straight forward swing path. Very rare.
This is funny...when I put with a basic putter that you would probably see at a mini golf course never had this wobble effect 😉 but thank goodness you added weight to the back
The putter is designed like that don’t be fooled people. If you’re using a blade it’s supposed to tow hang to account for an arching swing. If you’re swinging straight back and straight through then a mallet is more your style
This isn't crazy. Everyone's putting stroke is different. I've tried putters like this and I hate it. I have to alter my stroke too much to compensate. I grew up on a toe balance, so my stroke is conditioned for that. Putting isn't about what's in your hands as much as between your ears.
… ya but when you hold a putter , it’s not actually hanging on a hook off your hands , you’re holding it as one piece , so you can still twist the putter slightly with your hands and arms and everything , it won’t stop that completely , that’s just an exaggerated way of looking at it
So the generic was always going to flop around because its a heel mounted bent shaft. The £500 LAB putter is mounted in the middle with a straight shaft. At least conduct a fair example.
Hahaha.. yea because thatll help is feel better. In fact this will ruin your feel. Another marketing bs. I dont remeber any of other sport equipments having perfect balance. Tennis racquets, baseball bats, cricket bats, etc. The player feels the balance and adjusts. Not the other way round.. haha so dumb.
This is not anything new. Face balanced putters have been around for several decades. They do work for some folks, hence why they’ve been around for decades and currently offered by most major OEM’s. Companies like this attempting to show they’ve created something innovative and original is really embarrassing.
lol. So you use some mini golf trash putter for your “generic club” and then your lab? They are some of the ugliest clubs ever made, and *WAY* too over priced.
