Lol I just got a 02 and building it myself. So far replaced to CAI, gotta do the power steering line (leak), and that’ll be all for major issues. Best advice someone told me, “It’s a 22 year old truck, go ahead and change all the old parts out for new ones” so I’m on my journey with that, but so far she runs great!
I considered that as well which can be an issues in these cars. Everything kept leading me back to the starter. Hopefully, this is the fix. I’ll keep that in mind if I have to revisit it.
Check the voltage from the key to the solenoid to see if its hot when it shouldnt be hot. If pulling the fuse shuts it off then its getting power when it shouldnt. I would look at the switch if this is true.
Thanks! I’ll keep that in mind. If it starts acting up again. I considered the switch being faulty, but everything lead me back to starter. I hope it’s the fix I needed, but ignition switch will be my next look if needed.
My avalanche has trouble starting sometimes. I can run around the corner shut it off and than it won’t start, jump it and it starts and than it won’t do it for a while… anyone know the issue
