I just love Dan’s total PRESENCE in this. I want to sit straighter, become more focused, feel more positive. Never have felt that in any other version of it. Nobody has ever sang a more beautiful version of this song. It's always been a beautiful hymn of praise until Dan sang it, now it's a magnificent praise. Also, his stage presence is powerful. The whole thing together is mesmerizing

Agree sometimes the orchestration (rarely) outshines that gorgeous voice we love to hear! Love the reaction! He has a couple Christmas songs with Oriens Reign with miniva and Adestes Fidelese.
I disagree that the orchestration outshines the vocals on this. The only one I'd agree with that on is a super early and short cover of either Through The Fire And Flames or The Last Journey Home, way early in his career.
If it's the português verse that's throwing you off, I can understand that, as I've just reached the three-year mark in studying that language, and it's hard to get all the words even when it's just speaking. I've got that problem a tiny bit in Italiano and svenska (Swedish) as well, but not quite as bad as in português. Still, whether every word is caught or not, it's an absolutely amazing and phenomenal song! Looking forward to this year's song and doing my best to be patient while waiting for it. The man has Breath Control! I'm in agreement with you about vocals needing to be on top of the instrumental tracts. I know nothing about mixing music but when the vocals get drowned by the instruments I am discouraged. Dan's music is usually balanced properly in this regard.
