My son was a drug addict. His gf stayed by him, never enabling but just letting him know she's there if he wants to turn his life around. I told her she has no future with him. She needs to move on. But she never left. He went for rehab and has been clean for 6 years. He got a job. Married her. They are happy. She's a gem. I told my son he will never get a gal better than her.

After he was getting sober he shared an apt with two other guys. One was a friend he was trying to help get off drugs and alcohol. One day while everyone was at work he overdosed and died in his room. When they got home they realized nobody had seen the guy since the day before. They broke down the door and found him. That hurt my son a lot, more than the other two that he could’ve died with. He continues to go to AA, just to help keep his mind right

He slowed at the end because its one of the rules for the guides in visually impaired running. The visually impaired athlete must finish ahead of their guide.

They have to other wise the finishing time would be the assitants time and not the runners time, it a regulation

If he crosses first he could be pulling her over the line rather than her crossing first on her own efforts. Fractions of a second matter so it could alter the result. Being the guide is a really skilled job actually, all that timing and pacing, being in tune with the blind runner. Impressive.

They weren't racing each other, they were racing as a pair against the other pairs. Him slowing a bit was meaningless. THEY won.

This clip is from the paralympic games in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro. The female runners in this race were all blind and they all had guides.
