You probably hear this enough, but you have the best ag channel I've seen. Informative and entertaining without all the extra garbage of using every way possible to make more off your viewers. Thanks!
Thanks for another great video Chet and everyone. It was interesting and enjoyable to watch. Thanks for the drone footage of the bin project. That was most interesting. Gives you an idea of what is going on. Thanks. You folks are moving a lot of dirt and clay to make this bin project work. Wow. With all the machinery working hard you are getting it done. Hope your sump pump keeps working to pull out the water. That is one big hole for a big grain bin. Wow. The hitch on the dirt wagon is holding up. Yeah. Eric you got the cover crop of wheat spread. That should work good I would think. Interesting to keep an eye on it. Cover crop should help that area. This bin project is most interesting. Huge hole you dug. Not have to put the gravel in and pack it real good. Big project. Thanks for everything Chet and crew. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
I managed to bury my Bobcat 864G so bad I had to call a friend from over an hour away to drag me out. That was a wide track, low ground pressure track and I almost buried my machine. What a great and humbling experience. 😢
@@anthonyhengst2908 My good friend made me pay for his help over many years and many beers. It was all good, but damn? I just couldn’t imagine my machine getting mired so badly. We all had a laugh afterwards, but I toned down my level of confidence a few notches after that episode. 🤣
If you need to sow cover crops, it will save the farm money to do it, rather than spend a lot on expensive chemicals to kill the weeds that surely will take over!! By the way Eric, as always, your explanation hits the spot, bang on! Chet, damn good idea using autosteer. Everybody did a good job today, so hopefully things don't get worse than expected. Thanks from UK.
That was a cool video and it’s funny no one else wanted to buy in on that dump cart with you Chet it’s been used so much bet ur loving that purchase now
I had a baseball game in Wheaton the other day and on the way by the Kibble dealer I’m pretty sure I saw that 8rx on the lot. At first I was confused but after watching them pick it up off your guys yard I figured it out. Hope the bin dirt work goes better than how its going right now!! 👍
The Minnesota department of natural resources says… Minnesota is considered to have abundant water resources, but groundwater is not evenly distributed across the state. The Minnesota Groundwater Provinces map summarizes regional differences in aquifers and groundwater resources. “Provinces 2 (South-central) and 5 (Western) The glacial sediment in these provinces is typically fine-grained (e.g., clay and silt) and may contain only limited extents of surficial and buried sand aquifers. Province 2 contains sedimentary bedrock aquifers that are commonly used. Province 5 contains fractured bedrock commonly buried deeply beneath glacial sediment and is of limited use as an aquifer.”
Hate to see Dougos Cadillac leave the farm, I think he really liked that tractor. WOW, I'd say you have your time and work cut out for you with diverting all the water on that project.
Boys, welcome to the club😂 we been fighting the rain and mud building a new leg of highway 50 that runs across the country, we are making it 4 lane thru the little town in southern Indiana, I had 500 tons of fill dirt hauled in, and right when we dump the last load it came a down pour 2” in less than an hour!!! Needless to say we had to load it all back up and haul it off😔 it wouldn’t meet compaction or moisture testing 🙄 it was a kick in the bean bag for sure, but you just gotta start over.💪 no quit!
It is very apparent that y’all ain’t in south Alabama cause on the coldest of cold days in July you will never need a hoodie!!! We went to a baseball game and it was raining,we were sweating standing under a covered top today
Look at it this way. You did not have to drive in huge I beams under the slab. I have seen huge holes dug, the 100 foot I beams driven in befor 40 foot concrete slabs poured. Just for a little steel mill.😊
Chet run a gullie lower than the grade for water to run out of the hole if it rains it will run to the gullie then use a pump to pump out water, when done just back fill. Remember that water always finds its level when contained like in a pond lake or ocean SEA LEVEL AGAIN---
Boy watching this video brings back memories of pumping water out of footings. Than having dirt police tell me I can’t pump the dirty water out unless you can see three fingers thru a clean glass.
Only a question the new option of flying drones to spray crops and possibly spread wheat or maybe something else that you might want to try. Especially if conditions are wet to get things sprayed. Millennial farmer just got a demonstration.
does anyone in that area use buckwheat as a cover crop that gets tilled back in right when it flowered out ? I did it 3 years on a garden in OH and it really blanked out some weed problems. Just curious how that all works in the mix erik called out.
Dougo I believe you’re looking for Matthew 6:34 “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
