Hey, Mr GCRC! I stopped my collection buying more than one year ago, when prices skyrocketed and after half of my fleet was grounded and delays for spare parts were totally uncertain to say the least. But now prices are better at least in the EU and parts are coming, so I'm back flying, breaking, repairing and modding my birds. I noticed this P-51 very recently, and I was relieved to see you did a list of vids on it. 😊 Hearing you saying that this Mustang can fly well with stock transmitter, and without mod (!!!) is enough for me. I'll buy it in September after summer holidays! 😁👍 I can't believe that, at long last, I see a good mini warbird with a brushless engine at this price tag! @@GroundControlRC Indeed ! It would be great to have other aircrafts on the same concept. I love the P-51d and it's a great famous warbird to start a line, but it's therefore very very common. I'll wait a little too see if I continue my 400mm collection. The're not as good (brushed motors...) but so many of them exist now: P-47 (already bought the Volantex one 😂), P-40, P-39, Zero, Spitfire, and at last a FW-190A. I'll bought this one, even if I already have one I created myself out if a T-28, I'll be less afraid to destroy it ! 😅) But if this line expands, I might stop the 400mm and wait for the others 540mm... Oh my. I need a bigger home... 😂 See you in the air, Tony !

try 3 grams nose weight, get the ele back to stock, we are going the other way and adding ele and more rudder throw, also using a amped up throttle curve so at mid stick we have 2/3 throttle on board, flies with more authority then. Now you can see why there are happy pilots with this little bird ! its a dream. XK K130 heli battery is an option (xt30 plug though) you can get those in 700mah and is a sweet fit.

Hi Craig! The Elevator is neutral, I didn't mean to suggest I had a bunch of down trim in the Elevator, it's approx. 4 clicks of down trim. The plane feels very well balanced to me but I like flying with a neutral balance. You can see by how it handles it's balanced very well. Most people will always fly a bit nose heavy as it makes it feel a bit more stable. Awesome plane! See you in the Air!

@@kiwi_craigrc1613 Yeah, that's definitely the case sometimes. I doubt the electronics are positioned in the exact same place every time and I'm sure the mold are slightly different. I fly mine with the landing gear so I wondered it you were flying yours without the gear since that would make it lighter in the nose.

Thank You Much Roland! I put it into Senior Mode for just a few seconds and it felt very sluggish on the controls. It certainly didn't feel like manual mode. So, I fly it in 3D High Rates right after launch and that mode is fantastic. I just got it programmed into my TX16S, so I'll be testing that soon.

Awesome flight, I see that the plane it's a bit fast on approach for a landing, does it ever stall when trying to land slower? It's just that where I normally fly, there's not much space for a long landing. Also, in your experience, how does it compare to the XK A900? I'd like to do some inverted flight, which one do you reckon will be best for stable inverted flight? Thank you so much for your videos, I really enjoy watching your Chanel

Thank You! I'll have to slow it down on landings and I'm sure it can land with less speed but it is a bit heavy for it's size IMO. Well, the XK A900 and this one are two completely different types of planes so the handling is completely different as well. This is the 1st XK Plane where they got the 3D Mode correct IMO. 3D Mode on this one is a joy and on all the other XK Planes I've flown I thought was terrible.

It's a very fun little warbird. It supports Protocol = V911S SubProtocol = E119 which I can bind up to with my multi-protocol TX. It also states it supports an external RX but I've not tried that since I can use the default protocol. You should be able to attach an SBUS RX so you can use your DX-6i.

Mine does stick a bit once in a while. Working it back and forth will help loosen it up so it's not so difficult. I'm guessing they got a bit of glue on it during the assembly.

I have the complete collection of all 15 of them, and now that several models are no longer available they all stay mounted on my Warbird Wall. Hi Justin! Yes, it certainly does. It come with every thing except the (6) AA Batteries for the Transmitter. In this video I was flying the plane with the Stock Transmitter. It's smooth even in 3D Mode ;-) See you in the Air!

Thanks, good examples. You mention low and high "rates". Is that an option on the stock transmitter? Do you know what the rudder button provides on the stock transmitter?

Hi Robert and Thank You! Yes, they usually refer to the High / Low Rate as the Rudder Button. Something lost in translation ;-) The Stock Transmitter has a button for Low / High Rate and 6G / 3D Modes.

@@GroundControlRC Thanks for the clarity! I hesitated to do a maiden flight (A280) yesterday due to wind gusts. The push buttons are new to me and seem to require a short tap to switch mode. I did fly my Eachine P51D 400mm though, in 3D. You're right about the other stock transmitter's high sensitivity, but because I'm use to that I can handle the air gusts. Probably time for me to step-up to a TX-16S and learn how to customize the tapers. I watch a lot of your experiments and examples multiple times; gives me confidence to try.

I just got this plane and I'm excited to fly. However I just got the 1 stock battery and I'm not familiar with the different type batteries but I definitely want to get a couple extra batteries do you have any recommendations on aftermarket batteries that won't weigh to much on the front end of the craft?

I'm so glad you got one. This is one of the best flying Sub-250g Factory Planes I've flown. In my later videos I have links to the props and lipos I like to use on this plane but here are the links. Also, the plane uses the Red JST Battery Connector but the LIPOs I like to use have XT30 Connectors. Hi David! Not a lot of speed but decent. The close passes in this video are between 70%-75% throttle. This is a perfect beginner Warbird! The gyro is extremely stable even in 3D Mode. No bad tendencies, stable, and predictable. See you in the Air!

@@scu-dub Are you charging the cells to 4.2v or 4.35v? If you're charging them to 4.35v per cell I'd charge them to standard 4.2v and see if the motor still cuts out.

Hey dude. How do you trim it? I'm finding it will always turn left by itself. Like big left loops. If I let it fly straight it pulls left basically. Please help.

The 1st thing I do to trim out a plane is to make sure the servos are centered. Here is a video I published on how to center your servos. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RbfIs5O999E.html If you don't have a programmable transmitter you'll only be able to adjust the linkage to center up the control surfaces. After disconnecting the clevis at the control horn, you can rotate the clevis clockwise to shorting the control rod or rotate the clevis counter-clockwise to lengthen the control rod. Make sure all the control surfaces are centered. Then perform a test flight and adjust the control surfaces as necessary. If your plane is pulling left it could be there is a bit of left aileron when your stick is centered, a bit of left rudder, or both.

@GroundControlRC thanks for the reply mate. I took it back home after 1st flight and the rudder was always a little left. Used the turnbuckles to straighten it up. It flew a bit better after than but now one 3g mode I can't take off because the rear aileron points down causing the nose to dive shortly after prob is engaged. Why does one mode do this? Also on the transmitter I have little trim buttons by the sticks that beep when I push them either way but they don't seem to sub trim. Only using the stock tranny

@@DJSpannamanUK You are most welcome. Hum, not sure why the elevator would drop in a different mode. I would try re-calibrating the gyro. That's usually done by holding both sticks down and out before arming the motor. Also, the plane needs to be on it's wheels when connecting power so the gyro has the proper orientation when initializing. The stock transmitters are not programmable, so no Sub-Trim, and some of them will remember your trim input after powering off the transmitter and some will not. I've had several micro plane that I had to set trim on before each flight. I trim mine out in 3D Mode High-Rates as I only use Stabilization Mode for launch. Mine seems to behave well in all modes after trimming it out in 3D Mode.

Top man! I've got you. I've managed to find the trims by holding one until it goes fully one way. Then it actually stops back in the centre with some quick beeps to let you know it's there. I like that. The only thing I can't get my head around is the three buttons D/R 6G senior and 3D button. They all do a combo of things and I don't know what's the best!! Argh!! I want gyro on but to do acrobatics. For e.g I have a sonik rc smaller version and it flies great on intermediate mode. But it's just three position swith so easy to know what mode I need. Also I have found the ailerons don't centre back on the wings one way so when it's in the air it makes me straighten up after a turn rather than them settle quick centred and it roll into the level

@@DJSpannamanUK It is a bit confusing. I just fly in High Rates all the time. 6G to launch. 3D to fly. I tested Senior Mode and the controls felt really slow so I don't use that mode.

How warm was the ESC getting? Mine gets pretty warm with the 7x5 prop since I always push it hard but I've never had a shutdown.

A friend of mine is looking to get into RC. He knows I fly and he knows I started with a 400mm Spitfire. I've tried to talk him into a top wing trainer. But he wants a War Bird. Would you recommend this over the 400mm Spit or Corsair? As always great info and fun vid to watch. Cheers!

WOW , even though i can't afford it, because of the claimed $130 coupon price in your description i went ahead and tried buying the plane with extra prop and battery, it gave me a price for all 3 items in my cart but when i went to actually check out the only thing left in my cart was the prop for $2.99, the plane and battery were each grayed out saying "invalid products". This kind of crap is why i quit trying to buy anything from banggood, this same kind of garbage happens with they're email sales flyers, I get emails showing products with some fantastic email only price but whenever i've tried buying something shown with an email only price there's never any working links that will let you actually buy things at the shown special email only price.
