The chorus Luke Combs sings is from his own song with the same name, which was released before he was signed. Since this collaboration with Upchurch and being signed, there has been a lot of controversy due to Luke's apology for using the confederate flag and trying to retract this video from viewing platforms. Ryan was not happy and in his own words he's anything but racist, he addresses Luke's comments in his video "my apology", needless to say Ryan's certainly not saying sorry. I completely understand why some people are triggered given the history and representation of the flag, but I also understand the sentiment shared from Ryan that he doesn't represent those mistakes made in the past and won't apologise for the heinous crimes of his ancestors.
