Halo: Custom Edition is still very much alive and kicking, and it has evolved to what it is today over the course of the 12 years it has been out. From the critically acclaimed SPV3 campaign mod to Firefight levels, thousands of phenomenal multiplayer maps and even a single player RTS game mode, anything is possible with Halo: Custom Edition, and what was shown in the video can be downloaded RIGHT NOW, with plenty more to come in the near future.

I used to play this all the time when I was 12-13. I'm 20 now but Halo: Custom Edition gave me hours of fun and memories. Shoutout to yoyorast island and coldsnap.

TheCyanSpartan uh... custom edition came out in 2003. GMod started as a mod for Half Life 2, which came out in 2004.

Halo Custom Edition was released on March 15, 2004. Garry's Mod was released on December 24, 2004.

Just the beauty of PC gaming. If we can't have more Halo games made for us, we'll make them ourselves with what we have. Been playing Halo CE for like 8 years now, and it still manages to surprise me at times.

God I love this game, A kid brought it on a flashdrive back when I was like 14 and the game was put on almost every computer in the school We would play it anytime we could, lunch, after assignments, as long as we could play it God I wished I had Halo for PC now so I can set this game up...

Love how lots of extinction is in here. Probably my favorite map on CE ever. Blew my 10 year old mind way back in 2007 when I could pilot a Scarab, Pelican, Phantom AND a Seraph all in one map. I'd love if someone remade it to be better balanced.

You just need to know how to use 3ds max to make maps, and learn to use Bungies in house tools to import assets and add assets to maps. Definitely not as intuitive as forge, but much more you can do.

It was a good time... I grew up, all Halo's came out on PC with steam workshop support. Although I didn’t have the best time of this game (I don’t remember exactly, I playing since 2015-2019 and I played with long breaks), and the online was no longer so big, but thank you very much for the positive emotions given, Halo Custom Edition. "There'll be an another time"... Maybe we see in future another Halo with Custom edition legacy? Hell know, when content from workshop is be able for Multiplayer Halo MCC

Such good times from when I was younger. I remember when Halo 2/3 was being teased in trailers and modders did their best to bring those weapons into custom edition. So cool as a kid. That and YoYoRast island.

halo 1 custom edition used to have at least 3000 people and all the awesome servers used to always be maxed with players before gamespy died, halo ce 1 is still very alive but some servers were lost and some don't have nearly as many players as they used to, a good example is "ßeta" server, its still alive its just not maxed with players all the time anymore.

Some many memories, at my middle school Apollo we had a halo community and it was fun, playing in the library, during class, lunch, damn I would love to have those crappy laptops again and play with some friends on Blood Gulch, or custom maps we grown a costume to and i saw some of them on here but forgot the name. With Season 7 for Halo MCC, came full mod support for Combat Evolved This is probably the end of Custom Edition, since many mods will get updates on the MCC instead of Custom Edition

My school has this, I think someone put it on the systems as a joke game (we aren't allowed anything on those computers) and everyone just downloaded it??? The school can't block it and in class we just play death island and team slayer and it's the best thing ever
