@blaa443blaa2 no, he doesn't. The guy who created hapkido (a Korean) learned from a Japanese master. He took what he learned back to Korea, added some stuff and called it hapkido.
Ji han jae I understand this to be the man behind hap ki do. I learned sun moo kwan from a man who was taught by ji han jae. Yes this man grew up in Japan learning Aki jujutsu from his stepdad
That's all doable as long as someone doesn't participate and fights in the street. I do believe that this doesn't work, but the pace of the opponent and that he moves along won't happen in real life. I don't think you can even grab a hand like that if it becomes a really wild fight, then it's survival and hitting, hitting, hitting. but it is better to walk away. from the netherlands greetz
Just a personal experience - nearly all of the males in my family were special forces in Korea or part of ROK police. My grandfather in particular was heavily trained in Hapkido, Yudo, Taekwondo & Gumdo. When he came to the states in the late 70s, people were surprised to see a smaller guy toss people around in the street like it was nothing. These arts in their traditional/practical form really work. When he learned martial arts, he was learning it to kill or seriously injure. These days non athletic people with no real grit or culture get their belts like candy.
I did Aikido as a kind while I didn't use it against fighters it can go surprisingly fast. My instincts kicked in a few times and even won against much older boys. It works it you get someone off balance or can use the direction of their force against them. That being said, it works in such specific scenarios that it's not really a good martial art for self defense. Others work much better and cover much more ground. It is however not entirely useless as I mentioned earlier why.
We should hits did in my karate class but hapkido it's pretty impressive a very effective in the street fight when you was I just hope this the commercial I can save your life when the going gets much tougher and much harder and much rougher it would just saying is a very good when used correctly along with karate Israel as judo and aikido 🥋🙏🥋💪😉👍🥋
