I think that this video is an amazing representation of her story. And for her to not only go through a lot before coming to New York but also after she moved is so hard. I would also like to say that her story is so relatable to people with complicated families and that I hope if anyone goes through anything like an assault that please talk to someone. I feel like that was Amanda's mistake, not going to talk to someone about what happened they had to go to her.
Music Maniacs yeah I totally agree it’s sad that she felt like she didn’t have anyone to talk to and to be honest I think that the writers kinda dropped this storyline somehow as if the fact that she confessed the rape to barba and had a little chat with Liv made it all better. And they barely mentioned it again even though it obviously still affects her...
@@fragmentarygirl6890 I thought that too but then season 21 episode 2 happened and revisited the fact that her trauma is still present despite her claiming she's over it
Trauma is the root to addiction. Patton damaged her more than the show portrayed. I love Amanda because she doesn’t let the past define her. She’s a true survivor. She’s been through so much and has stayed strong.
And the trauma of growing up watching abuse...and feeling like it's her JOB to take care of her mother and sister...that's the underpinning of her susceptibility to Patton's overture in the first place. Her die was case early...and her roles were unfairly set up by broken family dynamics. I think one of Kelli's most amazingly moments was when they were arresting Kim and kept her in the office so she'd not try to intervene...and the way she clearly feels paralyzed and trapped and is almost EXPLODING with the primal need to play her role as protector in her family and GO FIX IT is just heartwrenching for me to watch.
Amanda is so strong, life put her down plenty of times but she always gets up, she saved herself every single time and bless her soul she doesnt believe she deserves to be helped or loved, she is so real and raw, I love her
This is a BEAUTIFULLY edited telling of Rollins' story. You've visually made ALL the connections solid and strong, and I really REALLY liked the sequencing and structure and the way you connected each of Amanda's decisions and poor choices to her struggles with trauma. Thank you.
A wonderfully written layered character and Kellie Giddish does her great justice, emmy worthy. Kudos to a talented actress as is all the actors and guest stars on Law & Order: Svu.
She is also my favorite character !!! her family is horrible! and everything she suffered makes her the strong person she is i shippo her a lot with carisi😍😍
I love it!!! 🧡🧡🧡 And if you want: here’s another idea: IF Carisi and Rollins end up together (I’m seriously praying they do 😂) can you make a video that documents from the time they met, the time they spent together, their proposal, and any time after (make it just like this one: edit the scenes together, put a little music in)? I would literally DIE of happiness if you did, or if someone did, because that would be PURE GOLD for Rollisi fans 🙃😅
@Gianna Rubino I know this is an old comment but I just dove right in and boarded this ship in 2022 and I’m all in. My god I love Carisi and I would love to see him and Rollins happy together for good and to see a tribute video!!!!! I’ve been listening to Out Here On My Own by Mariah Carey thinking of Rollins’ story. Love that SVU is still going strong after all these years!!!!! ROLLISI video please and thanks!!!!
Omg this video is the best ever, all her history. I really love Amanda seriously. I think she's a strong woman. Thanks for give us this, it's amazing! Pdt: What's the cap where is Sam Reinold :)
I think Olivia nicer because she tries to be patient with the victims without judging them. Sometimes she can be a bit of a drama queen In my opinion of course.
Rollins is my favorite character too. I love this show, I don't like that rape is a real thing but I like the characters. Zero tolerance is my favorite episode
If your referring to when she was on the whiteness stand she's speaking to Barba. If your referring to when Amanda and Olivia are in the hallway or Olivia's office it is the same episode as the afore mentioned. I don't know the title but it is when Amanda's former boss from Georgia.
I didn’t like her she was so aggressive like emotion less like when she talked about a lady affected to drugs when she had a gambling problem then when she threatens to call social services she just so emotionless to meh just my opinion But her story is sad
Love rollins but I wish she would allow herself to be happy with a nice fellow. Both the doctor guy and carisi love her and her kids. But She seems to avoid commitment. And I feel its because of her past. Dont let your past get in the way of your future.
It’s not fair for her sister to say she’s always fine but also I think that because she doesn’t know Amanda like that that she can’t see signs that liv or sonny can see but I expect better from Nick because after she said “Amanda’s always fine” he was just like ok and believed her like NIcK wake the freak uppp. Amanda has A LOt on her mind feeling responsible for her sister the need to gabble her 2 kids like I’m sureeeee that’s a lot and I’m sureeeeeee she most definitely cry’s I feel like how the people in the show fin nick ec. About to believe when liv and Amanda be like I’m fine like bish y’all know each other for how long????? Like how do you know know how she acts by this point
If so then it’s season 17 episode 2 but it connects with episode 1 and a couple others. (It’s the crossover with Chicago pd, Gregory Yates). I’m pretty sure You don’t see Chicago pd in episode 1 and 2.
Lillian Lambrecht well if u r referring to episode 1 and 2 of season 17 then it’s different scenes. She constantly throws up in the episode. But there is an episode when she’s pregnant with her second kid and feels nauseous throughout it, but she had already told live by this time
Because even if it happened as part as an undercover mission it takes a toll on you! Just because some things happen on the job or undercover it’s still traumatizing! Plus it can take her back to her past traumas
