Those sound really nice. I have the 4.5's on my RGU and I just love them for many of the reasons you mentioned. Sounds totally badass when you hammer-down, but so mellow when cruising. I can roll through the neighborhood and no one notices. Also love the cold starts too! Nice review!!
I've got a 10'SG and I have the Rineharts DBX45 on mine with V/H headers and Stage 2. Sounds awesome! I have people telling me all the time how good it sounds! I totally agree with you that when you first start it, or setting at the stop light and when your really cranking down on the throttle they're loud but cruising down the hwy at 70 mph they mellow out. Rineharts DBX series are awesome mufflers!!
I used to think loud pipes were for attention-seekers, and then I recognized yes, that's exactly the point. I rode with quiet stock exhaust for 4 years. When I put on a Cobra exhaust, which is louder but not terribly loud, more drivers took notice of my presence and I'd say more drivers give me more space. Before, I had some doubts about whether it would be worth spending extra money for a louder exhaust. Now, I'm not disappointed. I'm not someone who likes to draw attention, but on a motorcycle drawing more attention from drivers is a plus.
@@richlong4119 thats bull shit. with today vehicles insulated the way they are and most have double pane windows, with music on it makes no difference. That old tired line used to be trues in the 70's but not anymore. I have 3 Harley's, 2 of the have V&H, the 2009 Rocker C have V7H Big Radius, the 14 Wide Glide has V&H Side Shots and the 21 Street Glide has Cobra headers with Cobra neighbor haters. Exhaust note is personal preference and to impress your friends and has nothing to do with saving lives lol
@@richlong4119 my shirt reads " LOUD PIPES POOR SUBSTITUTE FOR NO SKILL " fuck you guys !!! The most annoying noise past our house is always a fuckin harley!!!!!🤔🤔🤔🤔🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
I just ordered a set of black DBX45s and eventhough this post was a year ago, the discount code still worked. I saved over $115 on my order. Thank you Hegshot!
I was going to get some until I heard the KhromeWerks sound- deep and not too loud. My 2022 RK special looks and sounds bad ass. Perfect for what I was looking for.
I do beleave that you are so wrong some slip ons sound just fine and you don't even need to do a cam change for a better sound not to say that a cam change may make one sound better but not necessary
A minor tweak to the timing at idle and 0% throttle can give you a slight cam sound with everything else stock. I call it stage 1.25 Louder exhaust is a must. This isn’t even a topic for discussion
Most unfulfilling job on the planet: Assembly and installation at HD of the stock slip ons. They know 99% of them going in the trash or tossed in the corner of the garage
Agree, I have 3.5 inch Rinehart slip-ons for my 09 RK and the sound is tremendous. I did not and still do not like the sound of V&H slip-ons. I have true duals and headers which I think also makes a difference. Your DBX40 Rineharts sound great. Enjoyed a full-watch; have a fine weekend; ride safe! 👍🏽🤠 7/8/23
I never had a shovel but my brother-in-law and I used to go back and forth about witch sounded better, his JD 50 tractor or my 98 Fatboy with a V&H pro pipe. Sadly he died before we got it settled. They both sounded pretty sweet.
Its all about wake up the whole neighborhood at 3 in morn after long day work oregon getting tuffer on noise. Quiet is the best dont need to noise to enjoy riding
I had the stock exhaust on my 2014 Softail, then the V&H 2 into 1 Big Radius and now…. D&D Fat Cats that my Indie recommended for my 124 build. You couldn’t sway my mind from those Fat Cats! The power increase and the sound is visceral! They hum perfectly at cruising speed… almost put you to sleep but blip the throttle and those buggers will wake the dead! Lol
Agree D&D makes some awesome pipes. Love the sound of them. Iv got the billet cat on my ST. Perfect IMO you can cruise at a normal sound if you want. And when you crack that throttle or give her some you will be heard.
Great vid. Thanks for showing it. Unless I missed it, I didn’t hear any mention on whether the headers in the comparison were stock, or aftermarket. Maybe you could lmk? Thanks again and I’ll be looking for your other vid’s 👍 -Matt
I went with the DBX40's on mine, I found the 45's were just louder and raspier. The 40's are the perfect balance between loud when on it, and tame at cruise. 2018 SG stock except pipes. Channel hits all the right points on these pipes.
I've got the Rinehart slip on and the reason I like them is because they're not overly loud unless you get on it. Low RPMs are not crazy loud but giving it a pull wakes it up.
2011 ultra classic 103 wife bought it for me as a wedding present she made every payment 😎she had them put new cams and Vance and Hines right off showroom floor sounds Great 👍👍👍
I have a 2021 HD RG CVO. I did a Cat delete and added Rinehart DBX 45's sounded great. Then I did a Stage 2 with an S&S 475 Cam. Now my big sounds like a drag bike. It is way too loud! It is obnoxious in my gated neighborhood. I also just upgraded my stereo - now I can't hear the stereo. Any suggestions? I don't want to get rid of my new pipes, and I hate that I will likely have to get it re-tuned. So frustrated that I have not found a solution.
I have Rineharts on my bagger love them mine are the 3 1/2 round older bike pristine condition. Did the stage 4 jugs slugs head wrk cams new cam chest. Perfect plus push rod big ole carb flatside
have true dual rhineharts from heads back my old pristine 17 yr tc. ported, geared cams, balanced S&S crank, 10.5-1 pistons. billet cam chest high flow S&S oil pump. S&S adjustable push rods, valves springs. its my baby since new
I recently bought my first Harley...a 2009 fat boy and it has Reinhardt pipes and ever since I've heard lots of harleys and agree these pipes are amazing for true Harley....crisp!! Sounds
Thanks for posting to each his own personally I do a lot of long distance riding no pickup truck I don't want a whole lot of noise personally even where ear plugs to each his own
I bought a new 2019 street glide sp. Of course I wanted my pipes to be louder so my local dealer said as to not to void the warranty (that's another story) I need to get screaming eagle slip ons and the tuner and air cleaner (stage 1). I still wasn't happy with the sound. When my warranty was about to run out I did research on after market slip ons. I was leaning on the Reinharts but before I pulled the trigger I wanted to hear them in person. I found an M-8 at my local dealer with Reinharts on them and a salesman fired it up for me. That's all it took. I wanted them. Parts guy said we got them. Service said we can put them on right now. I said lets do this. I love them. Not real loud when idling and at slow speeds. I really respect my neighbors and didn't want to upset them when leaving for work in the early mornings. I also do alot of camping and when leaving the campgrounds didn't want to make too much noise. If and when I get another bike they will have Reinharts on them for sure.
Excellent video. Those pipes are perfect. Not to loud, but, not like the standard factory pipes. Easy installation as well. Like your shirt. I have many Grunt style t shirts. Just subscribed. 🇺🇸
Maybe you would like my shirt !!!! THE BEST THING IN THE HARLEY SHOP WINDOW IS THE REFLECTION OF MY DUCATI!!!! a guy took a photo of it yesterday!!! 😆😆😆😆😆🏍🏍🍺
I just put the 4.0 inch on my 2016 triglide and it has thunder sound no matter the speed i am at! Was going to to do TABS but said no due to availability!
I like the Reinhard pipes your bike sounds a whole lot better with those pipes I like a deep Harley sound I want people to know a Harley's coming down the road
How about losing those stock head pipes also 👍 I have full slimline duals with the big muffs and she sounds sweeeeeeet! Deep and only loud when I’m hard on it.
I went with a loud exhaust on my bike which was fine for short rides but after I started doing 400, 500, 800, and 1,000 mile days I had to get rid of that loud exhaust.
I agree with you 💯%..... loud pipes sound cool but is safer on the road. It's not about you hearing them, but them hearing you. They always give me space. Great video.
Change the headers if you want real good sound, I went Vance & Hines and love them, and the sound really settles down when at cruising speeds. But either will sound good.
@@3percentmick705 I went with fullsac and the woods 422 cam. My scoot sounds perfect to me. Lost a lil bit on bottom but barely. I'll prolly be buried with this scoot when I die.
I have Cobra 909s touring M8, and and the Vance & Hines Titan 4.5 on my other Touring M8, and I think the Titans tame my SE-447 cam just a little too much at idle, I was looking at these and yea, the 4.5 might go too loud & low for hyw comfort (much like my Cobra PowerFlo 4.5 were) , but decided to try Cobra Neighbor Haters for half the cost of the DBX40. The Neighbor Haters might be louder when jamming on the throttle, but I like never do that while stopped or from Idle. Thanks for the demo Edit: I declined the Neighbor Haters.. they sound hollow or tin canny..
But with fishtails. I have an 06 FLHTI 88CI that has a cam, SE Intake, Fueling oil pump/flexplate, T-man messaged heads, performance fishtail exhaust, with a performance tune for 91 octane real gas. It puts out 96 HP and 111 Tq and still gets 51 MPG cruising down the back country roads. It does drop into the the high 30's with aggressive city driving. I am satisfied with what I have. And yes, I can pull it up.
Just ordered a set of DBX40's. Your video was a confirmation of the pipe I wanted. Thanks for the discount code. Can't wait to get them on my 22 Street Glide ST!
I have 21 RGS 114ci. Cat removed, screaming eagle torque cam, DBX 4.0, tuned by fuel moto and I think it sounds great. If I revbomb slow cars in the left lane they can hear it. My 850 pound bagger will pull the front wheel off the ground during hard acceleration.
@@chemdog70able I love them! I had them installed last April during Bike Week in Scottsdale at the S&S trailer and they talked me into black headers and pipes on my baracudda silver '19 Kingand it came out amazing with the black on chrome and silver. The sound is simply amazing and it gives my bike so much pick up too. I'd send you a pick if this app allowed it
Did this to my Honda 90. But went with straight piping it. Brutal! Getting looks from the babes; as well as a surprising number of dudes. Feels good to be a member of the exhaust community. see all y'all on the road
I actually have the Rinehart 4.5 and I removed the baffles… what a difference! Not too loud but it makes it known to other drivers that I’m there and they clear the way. Loud pipes save lives. Just don’t be too aggressive, just enjoy the ride !!
I just bought a street glide ST and the same day throw those pipes on it and wow what a difference, stock pipes on a performance bagger should sound better but it doesn’t. This pipes were a great choice. Keep up the good work brother
