Hello my friends! I know that you've been waiting patiently for the Great Divide series and I'll start releasing them VERY SOON! I hope that you enjoy this deep dive into my editing process and what it takes to put the videos together. And what about those WILD HORSES!? Stay tuned for more...
Hi Ryan, any chance of adding some affiliate links to Amazon or another company to your camera gear? I would like to make purchase, and would like you to get the commission.
Dude! Are you kidding me? Your shows are way better than anything coming out of Hollywood. Better story, better plot, better endings, more emotional, inspirational and just down right awesome. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
The news has been so aweful lately, my California adventure land is on fire. You can't imagine the serenity it brings to my soul to be able to enjoy one of your beautiful videos. Thank you for that.
I raced the TDR in 2017 and was blessed to ride with those wild horses. They ran up to me from afar, I thought it was a herd of elk till they got closer. I had no idea they existed or what was going to happen. They ran along side of me for about 300 yards, circled around then ran off. It was one of the most beautiful moments I ever experienced in my life! Keep up the great work and stay original.
You are one of the first biker/ hiker’s to address Bears in a Real Situation. Most never say anything about Bears or Mountain Lions being totally veritable to charges from both predators. Thank you for address the issue openly.
Thanks for your videos, I have been watching them for over a year! Since the pandemic,I have finally got back on the bike (via Zwift now). I have at times binge watched your channel and rode. Now, over the last 9 months, I have lost 100 lbs! I’m still about 40 lbs away from my weight goal! Thanks for your hard work! Would love to send you some pictures! I’m sure you have inspired many others too! Thanks a billion!
Thanks for helping to tell the story, behind the story. Most people have no idea how hard it is to shoot the footage and put together an nice package that tells the story. Without composition, proper editing and music you can easily have great footage, but a crappy story. Much appreciated and as always, soooo well done.
It’s a Duzer thing but I’m glad you have the knowledge and ability to put these videos together for our enjoyment. They always come out great and your editing expertise shows. Great job Ryan!
Yesssssss!!!! I’ve been looking forward to this series SO much!!! The beauty of nature, the “happy” music, the adventure.... and all the amazing people (that includes Mira!!!). Can’t wait!!!! 🌿
Ryan, thank you for putting this video about your editing process together - it is great to see your process. Back in 2015 I tried on a much more limited scope to put some mountain biking videos together. I was using a single early GoPro, with a chest mount, very limited stabilization and my intent was just to share my riding experience with my immediate friends. So, no music, no drone shots, no ride-bys, just first person shots. And that still was a ton of work to put together. What you do is really amazing, your videos are such an inspiration! I am happy to be able to join your Patreon group. I just finished binging on both the Baja series - you are scaring the crap out of my wife, I think she is afraid I am going to run off and disappear into the Mexican desert! :-) Thanks again!
HAHA...Another DUZER TEASER....actually good idea....builds up the anticipation factor by 1000%....loved the KEY words...I thought "Duzer is a DORK" was going to blow it up for sure....LOL
Ryan, you’re an amazing story teller and obviously put in the time and have the skills and experience to truly present an inspirational movie. As you know I’m a huge fan and Patreon supporter and I would like to share with you and your subs something personal. Once I saw your video about stopping drinking, I stopped! I have lots of videos and pics of my rides that I sometimes have a beer at the top of the mountain. It doesn’t make sense for me to destroy my health with alcohol, especially when I’m very strict on myself. I have 2 liters of water and and a cold pressed vegetable drink Every Morning! That is followed by steel cut oatmeal with flax, hemp and almonds or walnuts with a protein almond milk mix poured on top. I log about 4-6 rides a week and do weights 3x a week. Sorry TMI, anyway I just wanted to thank you for your inspirational videos, you’re making an impact on many peoples lives I’m sure.
Drone technology and quality has really come on in leaps and bounds in the last few years and become more affordable although battery life is still an issue.
Hello Ryan - my husband and I have watched your videos for years and so glad to see there are more to come. We enjoyed your Tahoe series (although had to close my eyes a few times - Yikes) and just watched the 1st video of the Great Divide last night - great work! My husband watched and enjoyed this video as well. We just did a 1st time 3 day bike packing tour on the Downeast Sunrise Trail in Maine that Steve edited and uploaded to his channel yesterday. We did the "no flatties" shout out on our 2nd day start in Machies and mentioned your name. My husband's channel which is very small is - Steve Retired and Cycling - if you have a chance or interest to view. Keep them coming - Jan & Steve
Ryan : Glad your back all safe with everything intact. I’ll be in the edge of my seat waiting for each video episode. I know exactly all the hard and sleepless hours that go into post production. I’m envious that you’ve been able to make it your full-time gig.
Hearty congrats Ryan on reaching 100K subscribers! Richly deserved! Your videos and your dedication to making them all these years are amazing. I've been a factual /doc TV producer for 20 years and I know that what you do is a TON of work. And your travel videos are top notch. I look forward to seeing many more. Keep up the great work!!
Thanks for showing the production side so well. I'm excited for what's coming, and I hope you take your time to show a memorable Divide story. I'm thinking you will. Oh, and about those wild horses out in the Basin ... so very different than domestics, incredible really. One of the most magnificent times in my life was having that herd, a herd of something like 20 of them, checking me out and riding alongside me for quite a stretch. The tiny bit you included in this video brought me back to those wonderful few moments.
Thanks for the insight Ryan, this is what I needed to blow some new life into my channel! I speak for everyone when I say that we appreciate all your effort in bringing our beautiful earth closer to us with your Epic tours!!
The time and care you put in your videos results in an outstanding product. I enjoy your videos and they truly inspire me not only to get out and ride but document my families bike trips, although I get impatient with editing
You are just the best thing on RU-vid; just an extraordinary storyteller/videographer and person. I'm really looking forward to your upcoming GDMBR videos.
About time Ryan!!!! For me watching your videos is way better than netflix ...It gives me positive vibes....really appreciate the work you put into it!!! Keep them coming!!!😇🤘
Thanks Ryan for the sneak peek of your upcoming Divide ride. It is obvious you put a lot of time and effort into these videos and I for one am greatly appreciative. You definitely inspire me "to get out there!"
Very interesting video. I think your ride by and walk by shots really set you apart from other vloggers. These shots even though they must really slow you down give a great movie like perspective. Great work!
Excellent look at the "behind the scenes" Ryan. Can't wait to see the series. Can't tell you how many cyclists I've turned on to your channel...from newbies to hardcore full suspension folks. The bike shop is an excellent catalyst for this...especially for beginners who are looking for inspiration. Keep up the good work! Now...if we only had some reasonably priced bikes to sell em. We've been out since the beginning of June (bikes under $1500 US). Unfortunately, the truth of the matter is, the small mom and pop shops are bringing up the rears when it comes to restocking. Specialized is telling us it's gonna be Feb. for 21 models. It is what it is though and our repair side of the business is booked solid. Stay true to your calling Duzer. It's an art to creatively make the details interesting...and I think you've figured it out.
Yeah, this year has been crazy for the biking industry, but if you wait a year or two you will see some crazy deals in used bikes where people tried it and decided it was not for them.
Too bad we couldn't have repurposed those piles of bikeshare bikes piling up by the thousands here and abroad. They would have come in handy about now, during a global viral catastrophe. Can you imagine how many you could have moved out the door? Instead, perfectly good bikes were dumped into landfills. (No, they were NOT recycled!) When bikes become a major carbon footprint problem, you know society has lost its marbles! We should have a rule that techies ARE PROHIBITED from trying any business venture that involves bikes, or any other "green" idea. (Wait, too late!) Really. What a stain on humanity.
@@duzer Even motorcycles are experiencing a boom. Anything that has to do with the outdoors is, I wanted to buy a kayak this summer but I couldn't find any.
Man you're videos are awesome! Love it! i do cycling but I'm scared of going far from home but you motivate me go out there! thanks! all the way from Thailand
You got to the core of my soul with the wild horses aerial! What a great morning...wake up, duzer drops in via you tube, cup of spicy chai tea and bam...Touched my soul!
I've always loved your work, Ryan. Worked in TV news for decades, with ancient analog editing machines. I can't imagine the luxury of your editing software! Still, I realize the amazing brain-drain of the process. Looking forward to all these masterpieces!
You, Iohan Gueorguiev Bicycle Wanderer See the World Series and Foresty Forest are the 3 best cycle expedition/hiking YTers. You all produce very high quality videos. As you say the time involved to edit and produce them must be considerable. Thank you for doing so. Your bike looks to be the ultimate awesome, pretty much zero maintenance machine. I want one!
G'day Ryan/ love all your videos, I watch a lot of your videos, as well as John and Mirra's videos that it inspired me to buy a Bike it's an e-bike, but then I'm 76 years old, full marks for all your videos and editing Cheers Eric from Down under
My first internships were photography positions, back then I would have never thought that SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) will become my fulltime job. Thanks Photography and Wordpress now I'm making my living through SEO. Great video Ryan, as always. From a future Tour Divide rider. For now I'm planning a Cape Town, South Africa to Cairo trip.
I really appreciate the behind the scenes look and the insight into your equipment and processes. My videos are nowhere near as epic as yours, but I try to incorporate some of your techniques. Keep up the great work!
Ryan, your videos and adventures have been a huge pleasure to watch. The images, music and stories are EPIC!!! The way you tell the story has been so enlightening and warms my sole. I hugely enjoy the music you select for you videos and now I know where you find them. I personally like the ambient electronic, but everything is so awesome. I found your channel through research as I start my quest to get out there for a bike adventure. Taking a long bike adventure has always been on my bucket list, but through you and your videos makes me want to quit the job today and jump on the bike for a long adventure. I love nature and you make it even more beautiful. You are such an inspiration and your energy is fantastic. Thank you very much for your time, effort and energy into these amazing adventures. I am now a proud Patreon subscriber as of today and I hope to see you out there sometime in the near future.
Hello my friend! I can't thank you enough for joining my Patreon, it helps in a huge way! And thank you for all the kind words, I really appreciate it. I hope that you make your adventure dreams come true, YOU CAN DO IT!
Wow! I knew it was alot of work and mental work to produce the awesome videos that you do but man, I feel like I need a nap just hearing all that it actually takes to make one!! I personally thank you for taking time to do so. Now knowing that there is possibly 20 videos in the series, well I may have did a few fast hand claps and a happy dance 👏👏💃💃🤣😄 I can't wait!!!! #teamduzer
I totally get all of this. I do underwater photography a lot for freediving training and competition. I am lucky though. My videos are never more than a few minutes long. Huge respect for the hard work in making these videos both on the front end and back end. I still think the footage of the horses at the end is the best I have seen in your videos. 10 years ago that video would have cost 1000s to make if it was possible at all. Very cool.
Great idea to make this video and educate people on all that you do when filming, editing and dropping the adventure videos. From watching quite a few adventure and trail running videos on RU-vid (including yours, of course lol) and having a few personal conversations with photographers, film buffs, video editors, etc. - I have at least an idea of the time spent and the skills that get acquired along the way. Successful RU-vidrs dedicate an incredible amount of time to it all. Thank you for all your great work and bringing adventures to the world :)
U have the best channel for bikepacking Ryan, nat geo and discovery channel quality, thanks for the wonderful video, u inspire us to do some bikepacking soon
Ooo thanks for the nerdy back end stuff on the search optimization and tags with RU-vid. I didn’t know that. The wild horses footage is amazing! I agree on the go for a run to clear my head part of the creative process. I’m currently trying to incorporate some pre adventure or mid adventure journaling into my process for relevant voiceover content. I love creative process too and you have inspired me in many of my videos.
Love your videos. I appreciate the hard work you put in and your quality. My son creates mountain bike videos and I see how much energy goes into a good adventure-style video. I posted this video on my comment section of my channel. Hope this series crushes it. You have earned it.
