+Mike Peace Woodturning Hello Mike, I hope you don't mind the knockoff video. I was really impressed with this project and was sure to give you the credit as well as a link to your video. I love your channel. Regards, Bob
Nice ornament Bob. You always put together a great video. I'm going to try having it on the lathe the other direction for hollowing under the dress to keep the weight down. I'll let you know how that goes. Thanks for sharing, Fred.
Thank you Bob I've just this minute tried to do an angel before I saw your video the head looks like an flying saucer lol. I should have checked your videos out before I started. Boy I'm glad I've got an back up of your videos on RU-vid.

okay Bob, I went and watched the other angel being turned...... I am not sure if it's because you are left handed or because you treat the wood more delicately but there is a lot of "chatter" and "singing" while he is working on parting off. his tool turns dark and he doesn't show us the wood in that area but I think he burned it both when parting the dress and the halo. I'm not trying to put your work against his, I'm just saying I'd rather watch you. there is so much less chatter and seeing his sleeve come over the top of the chuck while he was parting off :-( about killed me.
+Marcy Cooper Thank you Marcy, What a complement. Mike is an amazing turner and I learn from his videos. That was one of his first and he has grown like every RU-vidr. His new videos are really well done. Regards, Bob
Love the ornament Bob, quick question. If you wanted to stain the ornament before putting on the EEE ultra shine, would you still be able to use the EEE or would you have to use another type of product. My go to stains are the minwax oil based stains.
+Chapman Crafters I'd bet you could still use the EEE. I used Rit dye once on some aspen and the EEE took away some of the stain color, just a little, but it worked fine over the dye. Regards, Bob
Bob, with the sting being drilled into the halo and it being glued on so fragilely, are you worried about the halo popping off the body on the ornament breaking?
+Tucker Foss-Stockwell Not really, I sanded both surfaces and got raw wood in a diameter just a little larger than a #2 pencil. I used Titebond II to glue it up. It will hold. Regards, Bob
