When I heard Jason's love for Airwolf and other 80s super vehicle shows thought this is a man after my heart. Airwolf IS indeed a strikingly beautiful helicopter (some credit to concept designer Andrew Probert as well!) Knowing this inspiration, the name HX50 does make me think is this derived from the HX-1 at all...? Big congratulations getting this project of the ground.

Just grumpy that I was too busy to not jump in earlier, it's nice to have your initial impressions confirmed, but that is not news to anyone who has been following the HX50 development. Thanks for your total obsession. Can't wait for my Airwolf 2.0 to roll off the line.

How I can Apply and meet Mr. Jason Hill in person

Obsessed? Obviously, but if he wasn't obsessed then none of this would be happening and he would never have gotten this far. The only people in this world that wildly succeed, like Jason is doing, are those who're driven. There is NOTHING if that drive isn't there. Why is it so tough to build a dream in this world? This life is filled to overflowing with naysayers who'd like nothing better than to see every Dreamer FAIL. This is their heartfelt core desire - to see every innovator fail horribly. Why? Jealousy, laziness, small mindedness. It's a loooong list of shitty and mean spirited reasons. So, one with a mere lukewarm dream will end up dying with a basketful of unrealized ambitions and their fellow man will be gleeful that their buddy failed. This world does NOT support and laud thinkers and doers. When I told him that I'd found the definitive answer to a huge technology and physics problem, my father said, "So what". In a world that despises innovation one needs to be a huge D9 Caterpillar bulldozer, otherwise it ain't happening. Obsessed? Maybe, but a weaker, less driven, man would never have gotten this far, no way in Hell! In this screwed up world, dreams require absolute and total dedication to become real, there's literally no other way. I wish we all lived in a wholly supportive and helpful world but we don't. Jason Hill is making it happen and it is his drive - far more than any other factor - that is creating a totally new helicopter! Drive and dedication outweigh all other considerations by a country mile! This world needs more people like Jason Hill to make some improvements around here :)

You actually sound a lot like me. From a child was always interested in how things worked, I loved pulling toys apart rather than playing with them. Building my first helicopter now, very different to yours though. I don't feel turbines are a good choice. I calculate your BSFC at around 370g/Kwh, it's too high. My engine is around 205g/Kwh. Your 660 litres of fuel makes a turbines power to weight inefficient. Beyond 2 hour endurance a Modern piston engine is a better choice. Claiming to save money over 5000 hours, but you are burning about 275,000 litres more fuel at the 300KW rating during that period than a modern engine. That's a big cost as a means of saving money with maintenance. Best of luck. My helicopter is called Blue Wolf. My name being Rudolf I wanted Air wolf as Im a lone wolf but it was taken, and Blue thunder also existed. So Blue Wolf it is.

Until now it's only a concept, not a flying prototype?

Hello. Thanks for your interest! HX50 is not a concept. We'll have a flying prototype right this year. You can check the current state of development on the Global Meet-up video available here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vcPv1jGcmsY.html Please go to our website at www.hillhelicopters.com for all the info you need.
