What a place!!!Kerala. Almost every person has a car or 2. The most affluent state in India. It's a rarity to see poor people or beggars in Kerala. I'm a solo rider, I can vouch for almost no theft. For example, I can leave my kit and my keys on the bike, not one person will touch it. If I do the same in Bangalore, probably my bike will vanish. Kerala is just different, second to Sri Lanka.
@@rajduggal3938 For what good reason will a Keralite work in Kerala or for that matter in India? Even a basic MBBS will get 20x salary even in Malaysia or UAE and a much better standard of living. Plus sending remittances home boosts our economy. In this day and age which Keralite will work in India, for PEANUTS, you must be stupid.
Temples open at prescribed times of the day. The surroundings are accessible at all times but the inside is accessible only at set times during worship.

12:59 Bro the second round rice was for mixing with sambar.. actually the first mix with dal and ghee was a starter. The main course is to be eaten with sambar you should eat according to your instincts and own preferences 😊
Guyz i don't now how i want to express my feelings b coz im a mallu who is not staying in kerala for my job. .. So i can say that Kerala is very different from the other states and other culture of INDIA at last Love frome കേരളം 😎👌
There are 4 or 5 courses to the Sadhya, all served on the same banana leaf. The starters are the fried chips that they serve on the left side of the leaf, after finishing them you crush the pappadam on the rice and then you can try different combinations of the dishes served on the top part of the leaf, mix a bit of everything or try the dishes one by one with the rice. You can do your own thing, anything goes. After finishing the first helping of rice and the top rows of dishes, they serve you the second serving of rice and sambar as the third course. you can ask for buttermilk with the sambar and rice, or you can have it separately with or without rice as a fourth course. And finally they serve the desserts, two or three varieties of payasams and other sweets which you can eat with the banana. Some Sadhyas, like the grand sadhya they serve on the festival day at the Aranmula temple in Kerala, can have upto 70 dishes.
Temples are closed mostly during noon. Usually they open Early moring like 5 AM and close around 10 AM, then opens around 5 PM. On festival days some temples are open 24x7.
You both did a good job using your hands to experience this meal, which is the best way to eat it..Its called a sadya which is the most elaborate vegetarian meal you can have. Typically reserved only for Hindu weddings, and Onam, which is Keralas harvest festival. This place you are eating at is the only place Im aware of where you get a sadya 365 days of the year.
For the taste and understanding curry one can taste individually then can have everything mix together. That's the way atleast I do and believe it, it elevate the taste altogether on all new level
@@macroking13 they already eated some Kerala foods.. But which one is traditional kerala have mixed food culture. Mandhi and alfaham now days it's became kerala food..Most people in kerala eat these foods.. And there is no problem eating mandhi it's famous Arabian food millions of people eating that... Poratta beef, rice is traditional. But if you meaning sadya that's make only some people mainly in marriage or other functions. I just recommended most popular most people eating foods. And sambar, meen curry, rice, fish, masala dosha also good.
Temples are having specific timing...And that was an awesome Kerala Sadhya... Usually we eat sadhya on special days like festivals , marriage etc ...but that restaurant serves it daily so anyone visiting them anyday can have it...He was also offering you guys visits to some nice destinations...He was telling that he can take you to those places in his car ,also he can learn english talking to you guys as he is planning to out of the country for some jobs and it might be helpful for him as well
Wow, that was an awesome experience! The food looks really delish! You were treated very well by a nice kerala friend there.Tiny has a BIG heart❤God bless you brother! More blessings to both of you Tyler and Isaac:
Most of the temples in Kerala are open only in the morning and evening. Pujas are performed in the morning and evening. Temple darshan should be done at that time. Have happy trip brothers🧡. Namaste🙏
18:58 The price remain same whoever pay the bill, there is no difference for local or foreigner, probably street sellers try to bargain but it's never happens in restaurants or reputed places..That local person trying to become boss..
Kerala state have highest literacy rate in india, you are in south don't forget to visit mannar hill station, the best part of southern india everyone knows and speak English.
I am in trivandrum, I have been following u for more than a year.... U guys should hit kovalam beach.. For food u need to try 1)porotta beef from good morning hotel 2) villa Maya 3) zam zam shawai chicken Then headout of city to varkala...one of the best beaches in india
They should've tried Kerala Pork specials from Angamali also. Pork is not available as much as beef in Kerala because of you know who. Pork is only available mostly in Southen Kerala, especially in Kottayam and Kochi and coastal regions of Trivandrum. In other parts, pork is very rare. I love both Pork and Beef, but I love Pork (without fat) far better. It melts in your mouth.
Hi, unlike churches, Hindu temples are considered places where the Deity resides in. The hindu deities are fed, bathed, woken up early and put to sleep. That's why you cannot visit the temple mid day or during lunch. They open early morning and evenings.
oh and also try thattakada chicken fry, chicken 65, nadan chicken curry, Kerala Erachi Varutharacha Curry (lamb curry), masala puri (vegetarian), lamb fry, squid ring fry, and fish fry
We like to call our place as Kerala or India. Kerala is also different from other states in southern part of India. All states in India are different. And there is only one union thats India, the unity in diversity.❤ Namaskaaram from Keralam, Bhaaratham ❤ Love from Kerala, India ❤
That's how it's done, boys. Congrats on trying a proper Kerala Tali. Now you just need to try all the many local dishes (meat). ->You need to go on a cruise, houseboating for a few days, with a personal chef, private bath and bedroom. -> Kovalam or Varkala beach, Shiva statue, lighthouse -> Visit the temples (Padmanabhaswamy, palace), old churches (bible tower, St. George, St. Marys, ) -> Fort Kochi and its surroundings -> Check out Kalarippayattu (ancient martial arts) ->Jattayu statue, and trying out random foods -> Food wise, check out (beef and parotta, chicken fry, shrimp pickle(spicy), Pal-appam and curry (has to be fresh, there's a mild version, it is called ishtu), chicken perattu, Kerala fish curry (spicy) and rice
I really love this guys hospitality, but I want to correct one thing. If you are getting a printed bill. There is no price difference for locals and foreigners
DONT MIX TOO MANY CURRYS IN RICE. ONE AT A TIME IS RIGHT WAY TO EAT. ACHAR (PICKLES ) YOU CAN MIX WITH DAAL ( LENTILS) AND RICE WITH PAPAD ( PAPPADAM) WELCOME TO BHARAT 🇮🇳
Most temples in Kerala tend to be open only during morning and evening and close in between... Regarding whether non-hindus are allowed to enter, in temples that don't allow, they usually have a sign at the gate that says so...
The temples are very much open. Find the door and go in. Very informal but you’re welcomed as long as you’re respectful to the place. Go with a curious mind and open heart. I mean I smoke weed and go there so that is prob frowned upon but they don’t judge.
When I'm in Trivandrum, i would never go to mother plaza to have Kerala sadhya. I don't like that place , lots of flies and crowd. And I never liked their food either. I found another resto "Ruchi" which is a few mins walk from mother plaza and love the food there. Amazing customer service, clean, they give huge quantity of side dishes
