Soviet Squidward BotW2 is a good thing because we still have BotW to enjoy and plus, I bet it won’t take long for people to find another set of tricks to make that it’s own awesome thing.
MarMax Gaming its just the fact that these are so easy to do Nintendo being Nintendo is going to take these features and patch them and are going to put more big patches to make this stuff a lot harder.
Soviet Squidward I know what you mean, but the most intense of people have been breaking 3D games for the longest time as early as a million ways in Mario 64 or Zelda OOT, all of the others, and even in major GameCube titles.. plus all the other Xbox and Sony communities have their glitches and exploits too.. people will just keep breaking it - but I know what you’re saying, the sequel would be better if it didn’t patch these things bc they’re so complex to begin with and simply won’t really happen on accident, they should just leave them in there.
For those of you looking to cheese shrines, if you fail a windbomb the first time, MAKE SURE that both bombs get blown up. There is no greater pain than having muscle memory do the inputs, and then you see the first bomb explode behind you and have the second one blow up in the distance. Then you fall into lava/abyss. Edit: If you hold the d-pad up button, you can see if the bomb is on the field if the rune icon is flashing.
@@LCBChef18 there are no patches... This game doesn't get updates anymore. Btw doing BIL or wind bombs with set up methods are ez. Failing instills lots of disbelief that it works. Wind bomb are hard at first, but it get easier with practice and rage. Though doing this with a front hop without ZL aka running and jumping forward without using the shield button/sprint jumping forward normally is much harder. This method does work, but its up to the player if they can time it right.
I had tried doing wind bombs with just seeing others do them and had failed but after watching this i got it FIRST TRY!! It was probably luck or my already existing capabilities to do fast inputs but this guide helped like a switch turning on my ability to wind bomb Edit: i have tried again and can confirm it was luck
I actually learned to do midairs just from watching pointcrow and just plain common sense with the timing- I’ve only been playing for about half a month
I avoided this video for a while because I couldn't take the thumbnail seriously, but honestly this was a great video. I like that you took the time to show more of the details around trouble shooting your attempts. I previously learned to do the back jump wind-bombs, but with your tutorial I was able to perform the forward jump wind-bomb withing 10 attempts. Thanks Limcube.
I found out how to windbomb off a motorbike or horse. It's a weird explanation so ask questions if you have them. Jump off the bike, and at the peak of the jump, L then ZR instantly. Wait for a bit, then place square bomb and blow up round bomb. Edit: I've done some more experimenting and you want to press L after Link is two-thirds to the peak of his jump.
There's also a variation on the midair windbomb that I learned from reddit where you drop both bombs level with each other but spaced a bit away and have Link slightly below the bombs' height and slightly ahead of the second bomb. This gets you insane horizontal movement at the cost of it not letting you fly upwards much if at all. This way you can actually fly through the lost woods and straight into the Master Sword area without having to deal with the lost woods gimmick.
I actually thought that's how you were supposed to do mid air windbombs then I saw this video and thought: "Wait so I was doing them wrong the whole time?"
this is VERY helpful, i've been practicing these for a while and never could get the front hop consistent, and this tutorial is more through than any other i've found :)
Came to this video tonight after watching your stream today and I can say I'm not disappointed at all. I've been meaning to learn how to do this for months but it has been quite an intimidating prospect since the trick looks so hard! But I have managed to get a few backflip windbombs and a handful of front flip ones done this evening and am so so glad I tried. I can't wait to improve my skills and try a speedrun for the first time!
Probably the best guide I've ever seen on wind bombing. I was able to get good enough to do a consistent fronthop windbomb in about a day with this guide.
Thank you so much for posting the guide as promised in the stream the other day! I am azazsd from the stream and i just wanted to say i really appreciated the advice and that you put out this video so fast!
Dude, I just had to say that this is the best tutorial video on RU-vid for windbombs! With in a week of practice I managed to get to Hyrule Castle from the Great Plateau Tower only using windbombs. Absolutely amazing!!!
I just got into Zelda and I have to say..... Limcube you are amazing. This step-by-step demonstration helps in indescribable ways. Im only halfway through the front-hop but got the backflip thanks to this. Thanks so much!
A few things which helped me when I practiced fronthop windbomb: 1. Make sure that you jump off the ledge at the last moment, not 0.5~1 step too early. The reason being that you need to trigger bullet time almost as soon as you jump off, and if you jump too early, you will not be off the ledge when you try to activate bullet time. 2. If the direction of the launch doesn't need to be too precise (e.g. casual play), not holding ZL helps improve the success rate of the launch, because now all the buttons are pressed by different fingers (oppose to ZL and L both both pressed by left index finger). Alternatively, I tried to hold ZL with left middle finger and press L with left index finger. It feels a bit weird because of the grip change. 3. A good place to practice might be the Gut Check Rock, or anywhere that has a upward gust of wind near where you jump off. This is so that if you fail and fall down the cliff you can easily ride the wind back up to your launch point. Hope this helps.
first time i have liked a video, all the other tutorials have barely any dialogue and are just saying what buttons to press, not when to press them, i really like how you actually put effort into this, i become a pro at wind bombs in barely an hour. thanks, you a G
„There are a lot of inputs that need to happen really fast. It will be very hard at first.” Super Smash Bro’s Melee wave-shine veterans:” I’ll be the judge of that.”
Dude thanks so much! I picked up all three methods in about an hour and a half. Your videos do an excellent job of explaining WHY to do a method a certain way, instead of just saying to do something.
Just did my first windbomb ever, it feels so amazing finally did it after multiple attempts (id always trigger bullet time to soon so when I went back and listened to your tips again I realized that and fixed it) thank you so much, this is amazing, I know youll never see this but I wish you a great day anyway and I hope you know your videos are appreciated. Greetings from Hamburg
For some reason i cant get my fronthop method to work, both of my bombs blow up or they just put me in ragdoll please help. Yes i tried the north orientaion. Edit: nvm i got it i was doing it wrong. For people who are aslo having trouble, all you have to do is jump as soon as you take your feet of the ground you place your round bomb so at the climax of your jump your heigher than the round bomb, then after you place your bomb you go into bullet time by tapping and go to your runes keep tapping it to make sure your feet extend and place your square bomb in the proper direction. You switch to you round bomb and detonate. Make sure you detonate right after you place your square bomb.
I wanna thank you! I had tried wind bombs probably a hundred times using a different method that was recommended. But your method of watching his legs to know when to place the second bomb, thats the greatest tip ever and I'm starting to get more consistent at it. Gonna learn how to do midair next.
I don't usually comment on a lot of videos, but this was especially helpful. I watched this one a few times and then attempted the back flip launch and nailed it the first 3 times. I only messed up after I tried to optimize it to my preferences. Great explanations and great vid!
This is a great video. I don't actually run this game, but I've been playing with windbombs since shortly after they were discovered. I'm so thankful for your explanation about cardinal directions. I had so many fail for no apparent reason, and now I know why. Two things I wanted to ask about: 1. How does the timing differ on wall-kick launches? When you're climbing a wall or tree, and jump off. I can't get those consistently. 2. Do you find the more horizontal mid-air setup useful? It's a lot easier than the higher one you showed here. Thanks for putting out all this great material for the world!
I actually answered my own question. For wall-kicks, it's the same timing as front-hops. Just watch Link's legs for the extension, like you suggested in the video.
Dude thank you so much for explaining it where someone like me could understand it. I know this video is old but I still hope this reaches you. I tried other people's videos and I just couldn't get it down (front hop wind bomb's) but I watched yours and within an hour I'm able to do them. Still need more practice but damn each time gets better and better. Thank you again. I look forward to your videos on the new legend of Zelda game coming out next year. Thank you again!
FANTASTIC! Im returning to BOTW to play the DLC and wanted to learn some speedrun techs and this taught me in roughly 10 to 15 minutes for fronthop bombs. Cant wait to learn the midairs soon. Youre a godsend!
I’ve been trying to figure these out for the past month and after watching this did 3 fronthop windbombs in a row! Sick tutorial dude thanks for your help
This guide helped me so much! Thank you! I wanted to ask though, you mentioned you had a tutorial on lag induction to go faster, but I cant find it on your channel. I've searched for such a tutorial for a while now, is there maybe somewhere else that I can find it?
Thank you for making this tutorial. I was in your stream the other day and you said that even I could do it. I was doubtful, but it turns out that was true!
They way you really take it step by step helped me get good at these techniques. Thanks for taking the time to explain through gameplay. Excellent video
I get so damn frustrated trying to do the front hook method because I'll think I've figured it out and cant do one at all after trying several times UGH
You posted this a month ago so ist guess you figured it out already. What in was doing wrong: my fronthop was actually done without holding the shield. Morever I wasn't able to place the first bomb in a way, that it stayed more or less on the ground, but floated mid air almost behind me. It's all about the speed you are tapping the buttons. Use your left middlefinger for holding ZL, (let the camera angle showing downwards, helped me a lot for some reason) hover with your left index finger over the L button. Also hover with your right index finger over ZR. Press forward and Y and than Immediately after that tap (and only tap, not hold) L and ZR fast in that order (you should let go of ZL here) and than press and hold the up button on the cross pad. Change bomb, let go of the up button and place the second bomb with L and press and hold the up button again fast (you can hear the bomb placed sound and should see the second bomb somewhat transparent floating behind you). Change back to round bombs, let go of the up button and let the first bomb explode. After a few successes you will find your muscle memory for that. It's really easy to do after you figured it out. Also as he said in the video. The direction link is looking is key. You can use the R button so link prepairs for throwing his weapon, adjust the angle while looking on the minimap and focus on where North is (you have to be looking to either N, O, E or W OR exactly between those), than cancel the weapon throwing with B.
In the video he says to pay attention to links legs and to wait for them to straighten out after bullet time, but when I jump his legs stay in a jumping position. Do you know why?
@@shuxio5891 i don't really know, since I don't look at Link's feet at all when doing the front hop windbomb. As for the backflip windbomb, I don't like that method. You need a ledge in the right height to do it.
@@shuxio5891 You have to hold Target button / ZL / Shield when performing the wind bomb. Then it will make link's legs straighten out. It isn't required to do it but it helps as a guide.
Thank You Lim after a long time watching you do wind bomb, like nothing... I finally decided to learn... I've just accomplish by firt one with this tutorial.
Finally I found a video explaining wind bombs great! Thanks so much. I think I got a better understanding of them. I'll have to try them out again tomorrow. :)
You are the absolute best at explaining this. After watching your video carefully I was able to master the front hop wind bomb and mid air wind bomb in a matter of minutes 😁
I've been trying to do windbombs all week. After watching this guide I've been able to cheese the birdman game, and got 5 in a row first try. You are a God. Thank you.
Took me 2 hours to finally understand the backflip windbomb....really paid off! The problem is my round bomb wasn't close enough. Now that i understand the mechanic, i can pull it off anywhere! Thank you man! Now two more bomb technique xD
Is it a speed run muscle memory thing to always prepare to throw your weapon? Why does he always do it? Ah now I realise hes just using it to bring up his aim reticle to figure out the angle
Thankyou for the guide! Managed to get my first backflip one in around half an hour and it took a bit longer to do the fronthop. (Very proud of myself, I thought it would take longer because I have never been good with quick inputs) Biggest problem at the moment is I get too tense and hold down zr too hard and so my hand hurts a bit. This will probably resolve itself as I become more confident and can do the setups more quickly though. Super awesome to get a better feeling of what the speedrunners I watch are actually doing too.
this guide is so helpful! I was able to get the backflip wind bomb consistently after an hour of grinding, and I haven't been playing the game too long. I will have to try the other techniques later
Thank you so much for this video! :D Finally mastered FH windbombs. I kept trying to figure out what I was doing wrong -- I was run-jumping instead of front-hopping! I actually pulled it off 3 times run-jumping, but it was nearly impossible to reproduce and range wasn't quite as good. Mastering midair is next!
Hey, nice explanation; took a half a dozen tries but I got it to work! Now to practice for consistency. Thanks for finally teacing me how to windbomp. :P
You did a great job explaining the mechanics of how this works, once I realized that you're pushing the front bomb into you I could tell what I was doing wrong
Sehr nice!
oh my god I've been wondering how to do this for so long so I decided to look this up and tried it in the exact same location and did everything you did and GOT IT FIRST TRY. thank you so much.
Took me two hours to figure out the backflip one and I got the mid air on the first try. Still working on my forward jump one. Thanks for sharing these key details, like the mid air slow down and Link’s height. Even if this wasn’t scripted, it’s a great tutorial. 👍
This is a really good guide. Thanks for this! (Fun fact: I actually successfully wind bombed on my first attempt after watching this video, then failed the second one, then got an insanely good launch and speed the third time. I was using the fronthop method.)
Thank you. I learned to perform windbombs somewhat recently but couldn't figure out what was causing lag stops or inconsistent height to my launches. It's good to know my timing wasn't necessarily the issue but instead the lag and angles I have to account for. Now I just have to learn super launches
So I managed to learn how to do the fronthop method with circle first consistently, but I want to definitely learn how to do square first strats. This vid absolutely helped me immensely.
