I'm impressed by the way simple shit eludes him, like the effective fields and attack rate of melee weapons, or the difference between being hit by a weapon and being hit by a secondary object and the effect that has. It's like watching a child do something and realizing how much the human brain develops over time based on their simplistic understaning. Only the child is a man in his 30s.
Some of my favorite bits, mostly with the glass windows: 37:03 - "He can see me through the fucking wall." *glass 50:33 - "Great" + "Oh my God..." Nothing special, but I loved his desperate oh my god. 52:19 - "And the guy shoots me through a glass fucking wall after all that, goddamn it." 1:00:15 - One of my favorite parts because twice Phil doesn't realize the guy's not dead. Amazes me how little he pays attention to when they're only stunned vs. actually dead. 1:02:20 - "Ooooh. Magic! He can see me through, uh, that wasn't even a wall!" *glass wall 1:04:21 - He forgot again about the double glass windows. "Shoots me through double walls." *glass 1:05:20 - He forgot. Again. "All right, I'm pretty much done."
Love this game, but seeing Phil play this makes me laugh, its actually not that hard to play if you think quick, but apparently, Phil has a mind of a fish.
Phil has said before that he used to PC game and build computers yet he doesn't know that he can use a controller on PC if he doesn't like using a keyboard and mouse. Bugged Lying Mechanics.
I've never played this game, so even though I can see where phil is messing up in the first few minutes, I can't actually see how he dies, everything moves so fast. It's almost like he and the enemy switch places with no attack animation.
It's a lighting fast game and playing it cautiously isn't encouraged. You also have to learn to combine your approach to weapons. Usually you try to avoid making noise as long as possible which means no guns. You can start over immediately and I think most people get into a trance of bloodshed doing the level over and over again until you get it right. None of that seems to work on Phil though.
