His Shun Di pissed me off so much. He tries to play him just like Lili from Tekken 7 instead of drinking for massive damage + combo. He only spams that two-hit sweep combo. Then he says that no one can counter moves when more than half of the cast can parry moves. Such a frustrating time watching his mechanics, but absolutely great salt content. Thanks for blessing us with the creme de la creme of TIHYDP, Secret.

With that said, I don't know why Phil diving head first in a series he's never played pick up characters with difficult learning curves in Shun and Jeffry instead of beginner characters. Furthermore, he lacked a lot of defense, never played patient, kept mashing, and wondered why he was getting hit. Plus, his excuses are laughable and then has the audacity to act like he magically knows a series he's played for only less than 10 hours. Excellent TIHYDP as usual dood!

"I have a huge background in street fighter!" "I've played Tekken!" ..... any...anything else? No, nothing else. Seems to forget he gets bodied by literally everyone and couldn't even make it out of silver in SF5 so whatever possessed him to think he'd do alright in VF i have no idea.

When a beggar scammer Pigroach plays a fighting game, every single move they make is carefully planned and practiced. Every single move that hits the Pigroach is a hail mary. Every single one.

It annoys me that he doesn’t drink with the Drunken Master character. I know very little about this game, but this feels like something he should be doing. The game even says that the more he drinks the more powerful he becomes.

8:56 no in tekken, just like in pretty much every fighting game ever, you block and punish, and if you're not sure how - on block your opponent is punish with your fastest move. How does he not know how fighting games work? "every button I push I'm slower than him" block and punish you moron. "He gets this one counter hit and then a big combo after, I don't know what to do..." He acts like he has never played a fighting game. How does he not know counter hits unusually lead to some of the best combos in every fighting game ever?

Complaining about the lack of counters/parrys and using Tekken as an example LMAO. Almost nobody on Tekken has an dedicated parry. You deal with moves using the universal mechanics... Was a "pro player" of fighting games and complain about the most basic shit, DPS never fails to impress.

Used to play Virtua Fighter 2 on Sega Saturn. Good times. Not hard to learn, but with many games can take years to master. I love TIHYDP videos when the uploader has an extensive knowledge on the product such as you or Joster. Really gives the video more weight.

Some of my favorite details are when you go into detail of how certain mechanics of the combat and characters work and how DSP just seems to completely ignore them, really sheds light on how much learning and practice he needs to do.

Your editing is top notch, man. Props for this video. Phil just never changes, which sucks, after everything he has been through. Funny thing is I used to like Phil a lot when he first started and had his stuff with Howard and John Rambo, talking about arcade sticks, and even his trip to Washington with Leanna (PandaLee) and he had some pretty good content at times, in my view. But he has always been too consumed by money to really get ahead and burned many of his friendships and associations. It just sucks seeing that he is still in this rut and I wish he would have learned and tried to do better. I don't know. He always had potential as a decent guy, but I think his infamous "fame" really got to him after a long while.

So he chose one of the worst characters to start the game with, cause he doesn't bother to take the time to look up a character video on youtube. Worse jeffrey was described as being offensive and not having defensive options.... DSP loves 'reactionary gameplay' lack of defense, fast punishing moves and counters is his bane. Atleast I think that's what he wants. Also super loud buttons, he can't say he wasn't doing anything when he gets countered.

It's funny going back to this and just realizing how much he uses the same excuses to this day. -Characters have high reward, low risk moves -His characters don't -Everyone just does "hail mary" moves except him -People just play a "pattern" to get wins when he's the one just going in a pattern with the same moves -He mashes hoping his moves beat something else (lol what are frames?) -people need to "earn" hits and damage and be "impressive" to him (screen still says You Lose Phil) -He learns like three moves for one character in every fighter he plays and complains when he's using maybe 10% of his kit at best. I happened to watch restream on VF5 and my though is really boring... - He play Shun Di and completely ignored drinking mechanic. - He only stick into 2-hits low and nothing else. - Then he complained ones who do 2-3 combo style a spammer... which he also spam 2-hits low as well. Irony. - After sometimes. He complained and quit on people catching up on the game. Refuse to train and step-up.

i find it funny when phil says "go to sleep" and then all a sudden phil gets "put to sleep" by his opponents.

I like how he makes the observation that the faster characters are better. As if that isn't every fighting game. Now I am no expert on most of them as I don't play a lot of traditional fighting games so there probably are exceptions. But using my knowledge of Smash Bros in that game the slower heavier characters like Ganondorf and Bowser are generally low tier possible mid tier. All the top tier characters have good combos and fast movement or good movement options. The only exception to a slow strong character being good is Ours and that's just cause she can switch to Mythra on the fly for fast movement.

"Everyone does safe floaty moves." There are no safe launchers in VF. If they whiff or are blocked it is your turn to take damage then be at disadvantage for CH or be forced to guard into a throw/low/hi/mid/guard break mixup.

Whenever he gets hit by something literally all he has to do is block it or side step it. If he’s attacking then people will interrupt or counter hit him all day, esp faster characters or characters with better range. Like Lei Fei doing his arrow punch charge attack from across the screen. If you block that it’ll stagger you but nothing is guaranteed afterwards if you struggle fast enough out of it. So ur best option is to sidestep the move at the last second and punish lei fei then. Also some moves that hit him even though he’s blocking is because they are unblockable moves. It’ll break through your guard. Usually you can duck those though or sidestep it.

Interesting tactic to play the drunken Kung Fu master completely sober. This must be some big brain commentary societal norms that is just way over my head and isn't just Phil being a total dunce.

As a longtime VF player, since Vanilla VF4, it is painful to watch someone blunder through the game and make all kinds of excuses. These players aren't even at high level and they're dunking on him.
