How does it make sense that we currently find ourselves trying to suck fluid through a soggy paper tube while billion dollar industries package every product they sell in enough plastic each to make at least 1000 plastic straws? Why are we served beverages with paper straws wrapped in plastic to consume drinks from plastic or plastic coated disposable cups with lids made from easily enough plastic to make at least a dozen plastic straws each? Don't get me wrong here. I have no doubt that plastics are a massive problem. My point is that outlawing plastic straws is just another form of blatant greenwashing by the petrochemical industries. They clearly got together with a bunch of ad executives and easily corruptable "scientists" and came up with the most effective and least expensive way to appease the masses with the least negative effects on their profit margins. They realized that vilifying plastic straws was the perfect solution. Enter, one poor sea turtle with a straw stuck in its nose, the press flooded the airwaves and internet for a few weeks with the video of it being removed, complete with copius amounts of puss and snot, and at least 70% of the population suddenly believes that if they simply stop using plastic straws, they can fix everything wrong with the world. Meanwhile, the petrochemical industry continues to rake in trillions every year while finding more and more creative ways to convince us that we or or fellow citizens are the actual problem and have the power to set everything right again. They are well aware that so long as they can keep us devided and vilifying the "others" who have slightly different opinions than our own, we are unlikely to pause long enough to realize what they are up to.

I live in Italy and we have free healthcare and we eat the Mediterranean diet 😅, my father is type 2 and my husband is type 1. They both eat bread and pasta and tons of mozzarella and milk and they are perfectly healthy Ps drink WATER instead of sodas

This is probably why GenZ is aging like milk. We all are walking around super depressed and thinking life sucks and I dont wanna live long....you dont think that changes our DNA we pass down? I always think as a Latino about Ponce De leon and hsi drive to find the fountain of Youth. I think that changed us as my grandmother and her sister both died at 102 and my pops is 89 and still cooking and I look way young for 54. That said I am depressed and if I had a kid he would probably live to ripe old age of 30!

More than one person so far told me that mild Depresion is in a way like a superpower today during the kind of Zeightgeist called toxic positivity. One of them relayed that to me from his dad who is a retired Anesthesiologist. He admitted to his son once that after returning from the second world war to then become an Anasthesiologist whenever he was at work feeling mildly depressed about the situation helped him make the best decisions for the person whom he was serving at the time. Seems to me that in another different kind of example called only home life instead anyone who is not depressed enough to feel grateful when for example being gifted with a kitten has only mild depression too which of course could get very problematc to only that kitty owner if he were to then try and self medicate often at home after work. Some of us like me when doing that tend to gain weight.

We don't need self driving vehicles, we need people at DMV to not let idiots drive, just because they have a pulse and heartbeat

Those people would just avoid fat.There wouldn't be a diabetic. They tell you to control sugar because they say so much of it in your system, but if you remove the fat, the body will actually use the sugar like it's supposed to. Fat blocks everything. They tell you that so that you can keep coming back to them forever.
