Dan is amazing! I am a PK (Preacher's Kid) and was in church in utero. My family is also very musical. I play several instruments and sing. I've heard this performed in hundreds (if not thousands) of ways throughout my lifetime. My beloved Granny played the harmonica beautiful and as a teenager at family gatherings, we'd gatger around the piano (which I played) and would sing as she played harmonica and I played piano and this gives me chills EVERY SINGLE TIME I hear it! I try to listen to it once a day, if not more! It is, IMHO, the hands-down best version ever performed. I feel like all of Heaven stopped to listen! I also believe that Dan was meant to sing this song "for such a time as this "... When the world grows darker and more tumultuous by the day/hourI can't wait to sing this in Heaven together to our Heavenly Father!! Until then, stay blessed! I loved your reaction! This is best version of this song that I have ever heard. The power he puts into it elevates the message of this beautiful hymn. I'm sorry but it sounds like he is yelling the song. Yelling is okay for metal and rock, but you wouldn't want Amazing Grace sung like that in Church. Adam Lambert is a much better vocalist. Adam has full control of his range and is able to bring emotion to every song he sings.
