@@yungchamp21 Looks unreasonable again when you notice the Brook Wingman FGC adapter is $50 and adds only 1.8ms of input lag, also supports PS4 which this doesn't lmao
@invertbrid Well you can get the SGF Zappa for like $230 and the Snackbox for $260 which work on more consoles but sure it's reasonable compared to the Victrix
Its crazy that you can buy a full sized keyboard from razer that has the same low profile 108 optical switches for 330cad.. but 12 of them in this controller costs 400cad.
everyone needs a keyboard. Basically nobody needs a dedicated instant-response optical switch 12-button fighting game controller that works on PS5. It's a fittingly expensive pro-level product and those who will get good use out of it will be able to pay (like myself).
The fact that what's essentially a slab with 12 buttons costs the same as a current gen console is CRAZY! I'd be hesitant to purchase this for £70 let alone 300
@@destinationskyline07 Small batch products are doing this at half the price. A company with Razer's ability to scale is certainly just taking advantage of the prices paid in the custom market.
It’s my first leverless controller, and while it will take a while to get used to, I’m having a blast on my Kitsune! Seems to be the perfect size and the buttons feel great.
I don't think that's a fair comparison since the series S was specifically made to be a low end/cheap option for the XBOX consoles. But... I do think that knocking off $100 would make the price actually reasonable.
The buttons in this are like $20 of parts maximum, the switches another $15, the PCB being PS5/PC only won't be expensive (even the Brook board that supports Switch/PS4/PS3/PS5/Xbox Series/Xbox One/Xbox 360/PS5 is only like $135) @@smoothsavage2870 The markup is truly insane, as it costs even more than the Snackbox which is at least custom made by a small USA team.
I think that has something to do with being imported. Sometimes region specific barcodes get stuck over the original barcode, other times they just get blacked out. I don't think it's anything to do with yt.
That makes no sense to me no 3.5mm for the cost is crazy . I'm sticking with my brook n fgc wingman I love the slim leverless look but that's a option I have to have. A strange oversight for sure.
Well as premium this device is, the price is gonna make my wallet cry! Hopefully this inspires other companies to make affordable alternatives down the line.
@@amirjubran1845 I believe so since PS5 controllers usually work on PS4 games (assuming you're playing on a PS5). My main issue is I can't bring this controller to most locals without an extra, lag-inducing converter. At $300, it really should include a PS4 mode. My current stick only cost me $150 and it also works on PS3!
As I understand it the HITBOX is still one of the only ways to get proper grown up arcade buttons in a leverless right? So if anything it’s better than all these knockoff low profile mechanical keyboard switch models. Plus the fact that the case has actual weight. They don’t need to “step their game up”, they need to reduce their margins to compete with all the AliExpress-tier junk. They’re charging way too much for 12 SANWA buttons and no lever.
Gripes: -Can't change the SOCD settings, the switches are made by only razer so there is no customization or replacement switches available if anything breaks. -The art work on their cammy and chun-li models are just stickers on top of the matte black finish
Yeah, SOCD part is due to their partnering with Capcom. Website does say the switches are hot swappable with other low profile optical switches though.
I've wanted a leverless controller to mess around with for a while. Kept my eye on the cheaper 3d printed controllers for about a hundred dollars, but they were always backlogged and not available. Had my eye on this one since they announced it and decided to just buy it a few days before release. It shipped immediately and showed up at my place on time a few days later. I cannot stress how just being able to actually buy it is a huge thing. As for the controller itself, it is my first arcade style controller I've really tried to use. I play a lot of games on PC so the movement buttons have been easier for me to use than the actual action buttons. I keep not using the buttons that my fingers aren't on naturally.
@@Mangfera Everything all right there? Did you intend to reply to a different comment maybe? I never mentioned anything about blocking at all. And for what it's worth, the big game at the moment is street fighter 6 which literally has a block all button. Both directions and high and low at the same time. No need for a leverless for that all. Which modern games don't let you do regardless with the SOCD cleaning.
Disappointing for $300, I bought one of AliXpress for $60, and the buttons light up with multiple patterns, as does the board. It also comes with various SOCD modes and is compatible with all current consoles and PCs. Don't get me wrong, I love Razer products and own many of them, but this one is a pass for me. Maybe wait for Kitsune V2.
Very excited for this, I’ve had my eye on hit box style controllers for a while, very glad to see one from a big manufacturer that will actually have it in stock!!!
Can get a Flatbox for $60 (AliExpress) and a Wingman FGC for $50, boom PC/Switch/PS4/PS5 compat with 2.8ms of input lag only (this is way lower than most arcade sticks). There's also the SGF Zappa and Snackbox 2023 which work on Xbox/PS4/PS5/PC/Switch, but good luck finding em in stock. This Razer is only not overpriced if you compare to the overpriced Victrix.
I have a victrix fs12 and it has been collecting dust since I have gotten my kitsune. The form factor and feel of the buttons are so much nicer than I thought it was going to be.
@@housealan334 Your gripe is with Sony, not these controller manufacturers. If you want ps5 compatibility, you are going to have to pay because these manufacturers have to pay out the ass for the licensing. If you don't want something that works on ps5, just buy a fightbox for a little over $100...
Almost everything about this controller is perfect as a travel controller. I can live with the lack of SOCD settings and the lack of customization but that $300 price tag isn't worth it. Will wait for a sale if it goes down to around $200 to $250 but I would probably just padhack or get a SnackBox style controller with the Wingman FGC converter.
I read in some razer forum that you can change the socd, but I haven’t seen a video proving it, they say you can change it to last input priority or down+up=up, you have to press options and home and the directions keys to work, something like that
@@xDeadlyfuryG3x Didn't say a SnackBox though. Said SnackBox style controller which runs about $80 to $130 and uses the GP2040 firmware. The SnackBox is obviously more expensive and already has PS5 support negating the need for a Wingman.
It all depends on what you would like to use. EVO was won with a Hori Hayabusa RAP. This was a stick. Punkdagod (a top 20 SF6 player) uses a PS5 Controller. I'd always recommend a stick because it might make the game more fun. However, there is no inherent advantage to having a stick, a leverless, or a pad. Other than maybe form factor for transportation. I use a Hori Alpha Stick.
My only issue with it is the home button's placement. They really should've moved it to the top middle of the board or at least next to the touch pad...
Your review sold me on the Kitsune. I’ve been using a Hori PS4 Real Arcade Pro for years and trying out a leverless has been something I’ve been interested in for awhile now. Looking forward to giving this a go once mine shows up!
I just want a leverless that has a headphone jack, thanks victrix but you’re too pricey and bulky, so I just have to wait for qanba to pair up with arcade shock again for another obsidian all button
I think my previous comment never posted properly! But if it does, just to add to it, being in the UK it's a nightmare to get anything over from the US, so having this and the currently in production Overdrive leverless stick too, being readily and easily available, is a great start and hopefully we start seeing more :).
*Big question* @nihongogamet I just got SF6 and this arcade stick, what settings should I use? I hear so much back and forth but who knows? Maybe you? Thank you for any feed back in on pc
The price is reasonable because the actual arcade controllers are 400 dollars. Keyboard buttons arn't worth that at allllll. This is razer using the local market to justify the price
yea looks awesome and all but honestly, the brand mark up to 350€ is just ridiculous when you can get a haute 42 pad for a fraction of the price and have more customization options.
Birthday gift... play sft2 vs newer fighters.. try to do a DP on older games versus new.. i played up to sf3 and it got easier but cant do it 100% on sf2 🤔
$569 AUD, C'mon man I wish these companies were actually called out a bit on that because that is crazy for what it is, you can essentially purchase a new PS5 with that amount, and all this is essentially is a box with buttons on it all connected to a small board... Piss off Razer and stop gouging gamers
Reasonable price.. its 350 euro's for a case with rgb lightning ,a fighting board and cherry switches, the hardware is maybe 30€ to make. This is absurd
first off, big fan of your channel for a longtime! I just got mine and have been really excited to learn leverless for the first time! just wanted to add my 2 cents, I connected it to a Brook Wingman XE2 and Kistune works on my Switch! (just needs to be in PC mode & latest firmware) randomly cool for Capcom Fighting Collection, Tetris, and 2d NSO games, but thought other potential switch owners might wanna know! the brook converters are super handy fi you own multiple systems and sticks! thank you and your channel helping me get into fight sticks!
this is the only hitbox that i could find in my country for purchase so this is the one i got , i'm learning how to use it for tekken it's going to take a while but once i mastered this thing oh man, no more crappy dpads for me
@@TheLegendOfTerry I bought a Flatbox from Ultraardade instead. Half the price (including shipping and tax) for the same features except ps5 compatability. I still wanna get this at some point but only when its reduced
The fact this somehow costs double what a full size Razer Huntsman V2 costs despite that having 12 switches vs 105 is highway robbery. Razer probably priced this out of most people's reach in their attempt to capitalize on the leverless craze, especially in Europe.
