Hi everyone! To help RU-vid recommend this video, please LIKE and SHARE! Help a brother out! It's not about a popular place so I can't rely on SEO and keywords. Thanks! I hope you enjoyed this video and understood the meaning behind it! Nombre De Dios was amazing! As usual, it will take a few days for RU-vid to generate automatic English subtitles which I can then correct and translate into Spanish and other languages. This is most likely due to the length of the video and the fact there is a lot of Spanish spoken in the video - RU-vid gets confused! Check back in a few days and they should be available! *What did you think of those gorditas?* ¡Hola a todos!
*Subtítulos ahora disponible!* *Where do you think is the most beautiful place in Mexico?* Answers and recommendations for other viewers below! There is no correct answer!!
Barra de Coyuca, just north of Acapulco is my favorite place so far. Miles of beach, few people, good food but uncomfortable hammocks! :) Teotihuacan and Las Barrancas del Cobre are second and third. Creel is a great place as well, but the cartel is very active there so I don't know if I'd use the drone much (one backpacker asked too many cartel related questions and they found his body days later). Then México City would be next, followed by Puerto Vallarta, Zihuatanejo, and Puerto Escondido. I live in Mazatlán, so I'm excluding it from my list [but it's definitely #1].
@@davidostrowski679 I do prefer the coastal towns, but I do like inland cities/towns almost as much. I could easily spend the rest of my days in México City (If I had the funds).
I thought Bernal and Tequila were both stunning! Colourful towns set in the mountains with agriculture and vivid blue skies. That pena in Bernal is breathtaking! I hope to go back and spend more time in both towns. As for beaches - I love the Oaxaca coast. It reminds me of the untamed Pacific coast on Vancouver Island (but with year round warm water).
Bravo David!!, is impressive to see how you are so brave to go places like this by yourself! You move in Mexico like a local and you make that the Mexicans want to put in our to go list these places than we don't even know exist!, Now I want to go there eat that gorditas and explore the beautiful nature of Nombre de Dios! :)
You just summed up the hidden meaning! All the children in it = the innocence of childhood comes with fearlessness and discovery we often lose as an adult!
I had my 39th birthday there. There is an ex hacienda turned into hostel. Very nice, very clean. The people were super friendly. The food in Nobre de Dios is amazin
@@davidostrowski679 well this was before the pandemic. I am 40 now. No idea where to celebreate my 41st though. Could be Torreon (am wanting to see the art museum there) or Saltillo. 🦕🍇 (vino & dino tour) or just Mazatlan. No idea. The sky is the limit, isn't it?
A beautiful and touching video. Amazing the sweet and memorable and peaceful times one can enjoy when the cloak of fear is removed. A gem of a video. 💕
Maria understood the meaning! Childhood innocence and lack of fear accompanied by the amount of children making appearances! There was an extra bit I filmed which I didn't include about how I got home with Diego lol. Might post it on Patreon
The girl you talked to at the gorditas place is my cousin! Shared your video so all my people from Nombre de Dios can see that all the work they put on our town is working.... and even people from other countries are visiting our little piece of heaven. P.S. There is a looot more to see in Nombre de Dios Durango!!
Hey Cecilia I didn't get time to write a proper message last night. Could you possibly pass my thanks to your cousin for her contribution to this video, the information she provided was fantastic and I didn't get a chance to say thank you in person before I left. Muchas gracias amiga!
Hello! I'm from Gómez Palacio, Durango. Next to Torreón. It's the first time that I see people from other countries making videos really close from where I live. And this makes me really happy, thank you for doing this.
I appreciated this vídeos more than you know David. I am from the state of Durango but moved to the states at an early age so I haven’t really seen my beautiful state and what it has to offer. Liked and subscribed.
You're welcome Saul! I was back in the state last week (Gomez and Lerdo). There's nothing like Durango! I think the water is back now at the waterfall but I'm glad I was there during drought season as it really gave a unique view!!
People rest on Sundays and nearly everything is closed. Nombre de Dios has natural springs near the entrance to Nombre de Dios. Many people go to the swimming pools and the river near the entrance to the town. The mezcal there is one of the best I have ever had! They do get quite a bit international tourists. 😅 We love it! Bought land there. And in the city of Guadalupe Victoria Durango. 🩷💜🩷 we love the family oriented lifestyle. And Doña Aleja passed away and her family took over… but their Gorditas are good.
Where to begin??? I appreciate and respect your work because you offer new places, new perspectives and even new music! You inspired me to search for Nombre de Dios on google maps (guess what the first businesses marked were? Yes, Gorditas Dona Aleja and Pemex, of course). You also inspired me to search for The Eastern Plain on Spotify. I am always happy to add new tunes to my 2021 mellow playlist. As for Durango ... we have flown from Vancouver to Mexico City numerous times. Often the pilot tells us when we are travelling over Phoenix USA. From there we fly over what seems like an endless brown wasteland (including Durango) until we get close to CDMX. As someone who lives in a very green environment, I always wondered what is it like down there? I am not going to lie - I just assumed it would be horrid. So, thank you for introducing me to this amazing and beautiful state. I want to add it to my Copper Canyon wish list.
I loved this so so much!!! Thank you! I have been in Nombre de Dios only once. We went for a Youth Group Camp in between Christmas and New Years a long time ago! It gets REALLY cold there in the Winter. I am from Torreón, México so I was not used to that much cold then. This is making me want to go back, it really is such a charming place!
Thank you for the nice video. This is my kind of style for a Trip ;-) I see your "flying eye" is back. I guess the food in the restaurant was amazing and I like family owned places, its more authentic. It's a shame that it was too dry for the waterfall, but the lake was very beautiful. I think you had a good time there. Greetings Joe
You have been brave to visit that place, like you said theres no many people around, i love the end of this video, particulary this one, you have remindme these places like this one that once had its moment of glory and now looks a little forgotten but still working in some way, i hope one day can look beautiful as once again or better. Thank you for visit us! and show us the beauty, you are wellcome anytime :D
Thanks Monina! I saw videos of a few months later and water was back! I was just in Oxxo in Ciudad Obregón and the headline on a newspaper was 'Sonora sin Agua!'. Oh yes I know that feeling from Durango! Jaja
@@davidostrowski679 Brave! i saw you ate some Scorpions too! i have never taste it in here! but look suculents at the Mercado Gómez Palacio jaja, i love this place. Durango is mostly quiet and familiar city, kind of bohemian or nostalgic but kind, and Eat at the Mercado of every place let you know much more about the culture of the place and yeah, i hope soon the water fills that waterfall again! :D
Great Video..The Drone views are Spectacular.. I believe this is a more personal video for the for the pictures you included In the video. The music at the end is perfect too.💯💯👌👌👍👍🙏🙏
Thanks man, yep I was inspired by all the children. Innocence and no fear ties with Northern Mexico. No one knows how to get to places so you just have to figure it out, like getting a car home with two random guys! It would be great if we all still had the ability to be reckless and innocent before adulthood happened!
Did you get a new drone it’s too early for them to have a Replacement for you unless you go to a big city or something Another wonderful video you’re the man bro
Thanks! Si amigo, they agreed to a replacement but it will take a while to send to the US (they won't deliver to Mexico). Someone I know is going to deliver it to Mazatlan next month then I'll sell it. Managed to buy one in the meantime because I really wanted one for this video and two upcoming ones (Mapimí and Mexiquillo)
I'm from Durango city, in Mexico. I don't know Nombre de Dios, but it looks beautiful. I can't go to visit this pueblo magico because I live in Wisconsin, so thank you for sharing us this good video. Gos bless you amigo.
Great place David can't wait to vist. LOL Shame that we couldn't have had some Gorditas and visted. Keep exploring the less touristy locations in Mexico that show how beautiful Mexico truly is. If ever in Los Angeles(Venture County)give me P/M
I'm so glad you enjoyed Durango. I am from here so I have been to all these places. Nombre de Dios Is beautiful and Mexiquillo is my go to vacation place. You went to the most beautiful and safest places of our state. I hope you noticed how peaceful this state really is. The fact is, You were in the heaviest controlled narco state in Mexico. The truth is that Durango's cartels are very civilian friendly, and they really do keep the peace for everyone. Durango has a bad rap for violence because in 2010 the state was divided into 2 rivaling cartels. During this violence was really really awful and was a battlefield. The Sinaloa cartel now controls the entire state and we have had peace since 2010. I don't know anyone who has been a victim of a violent crime here. No one has disappeared or been kidnapped. A little story that happened to me when I was 16. Me and my friends where drunk and walking home at 3 AM when we saw a white truck. Since we thought it was the cops, we decided to run (cause we were young and stupid). Turns out it was a cartel truck filled with armed gunmen. They chased us (because we ran at 3 am) and they held us at gun point. When they saw we were kids, they scolded us for running. And told us that if they see people running from them at 3AM they believe it's people up to no good and they could have taken us away. Since we were 2 blocks from our house they escorted us to our house and made us wake our parents up and they told them what we did. They spoke to my mom (who was terrified) in a very professional and respectful manner and basically made sure we got home safely. (Although I got the lecture of a lifetime lol) not even a police officer would have done this for us. They would have just taken us and left to the station.
@@davidostrowski679 oh I definitely did not stop partying lol, that's part of our culture, but I definitely learned to be less reckless lol and I had to let my mom know I was okay every hour haha I'm glad you know the truth of México. Cartels are very real but as long as you aren't partaking in crime, there is nothing to worry about. Most of the time when you hear on the news that something happened to someone, the media likes to leave out the fact that the victim was not an innocent civilian. I know more people in the US who have been victims of crimes then I do here! My cousin who works at a bank experienced a bank robbery last year. No one would ever dare rob a bank here haha. You have to take the good with the bad. Hope you have an amazing rest of your stay in Mexico! Chihuahua is cool but I cannot stand the heat. It's ridiculously hot there!
My parents and the majority of my family were born and raised in Durango, and I used to ride a looooong way from Chicago, Illinois with my parents to go visit my grandparents in Durango! I miss it! Play a set of (A&B) Above and Beyond (EDM) for me when your relaxing in the mountains mate..
Those gorditas we're fucking amazing. We waited forever in line but it was totally worth, some of my favorite gorditas so far. Saltito water is really dirty when the waterfall is running, so maybe it was nice to experience the clean water.
That Saltito place at first didn't seem very appealing but then, when I saw how peaceful it was, I wanted badly to just sit there breathing some clean air and hearing some chirping birds.
There are some recent videos. You will be amazed with those water falls. You can see those water falls on many Hollywood movies like El Zorro, and many other western movies esp. John Wayne ones.
Nice video David, I didn't know that place existed :D, so that's great from your channel. If you ever go to Michoacán (if you haven't yet) try visiting Camécuaro, it's a very very nice little lake. Hint, try to go early because it can get crowded, and when it's empty you can really enjoy the beautifulness of the place :)
@@davidostrowski679 Glad you like its, when you go to Chihuahua try the burritos, they are known for good burritos. Also flour toritllas more commonly used in Chihuahua.
One of the things I DO NOT LIKE about is that the Mexican tourism department painted all the facades all colors you can think of. Originally this town had all facades white, that was something unique about this town. Now it looks like all pueblos magicos; they all look identical.
Tell me that you swam in that lake... a la mexican: underwear can be swim-wear. Not recommended, frowned upon and yet we have all done it once when not swimming isn’t an option lol.
