WARNING: I am no longer recommending the Mokwheel brand. Based on my own experience and others, they company is very slow to provide support and to correct warrantee issues. New customer have waited 2-3 months to receive accessories that were promised. Some customers have unresolved maintenance and warranty problems. Although I think the bikes are great, buying would be risky in my opinion.

Thanks for the Video! Great Info! My Grey Scoria is somewhere on a boat, but more excited than ever to get it after seeing your video!

I waited for about a month hoping they would get some in stock. I reached out to a few dealers that were within 3 hours drive. I finally heard back from a dealer 30 minutes out that got one in, so I went down and purchased it. Otherwise, I would probably still be waiting too. Its hard waiting, but will be worth it.

I totally agree with you about the wood in the bottom of the front basket and on the back rack Richard. I am getting myself the Basalt model and plan to put both baskets on my bike. My thoughts are to sand the finish off both wood faces, and then replace the finish with a light coating of black stain, followed up with a protective sealant. As I'm thinking the black stained woodgrain should compliment the bike's grey finish and black trim awesomely! But if it doesn't turn out as good as it looks in my mind's eye, I'll simply toss the boards and stick with the baskets only! Not a biggie. Great video Richard!!

Another great review Richard!! But, at the 2k price point, I'm not sure that I would buy over something else. One option I would like to see, would be how well do some of these newer brands hold up over time? Brand new seems great but, would you feel the same in a year of ownership?

I know you don't recommend but I have a dealer 2 miles from me and think this bike seems to have everything I am looking for. Ah 19.6, suspension, hydraulic brakes, and rear tail light. You always tell us how tall you are when talking about the size of the bike, but could you share what your inseam is? Not trying to get personal. My husband is 6'1" and I have a longer inseam than he has and I am 5'6".

Is the pedaling similar to a mid-drive motor? The website for the ebike says that it has a "torque sensor" in the crank shaft. What do you think? Great video. Thanks.
@Tom-xn2gu
@Tom-xn2gu 5 месяцев назад
So the "intensity" setting only affects the throttle and not PAS? I sometimes rotate my pedal only 1/4 to 1/2 a spin so it doesn't have time to take me up to full mode before I cut off the juice. That's if I'm with my dog and letting him meander. I wonder if you can feather the pedal like that on this. Also, 1 year later, are you still enjoying this bike? The shorter wheel base must make it relatively nimble. It's near the top of my list to buy, but I'm still deciding.

The new ones now can be unlocked think to 32mph but one youTuber only got it up to 28 and he had it set to 32 so maybe it’s just 28 think I’m going to get this one

The Scoria is nice, a lot has changed since my review. It now has a torque sensor, different tires which I don't like and a few other small things.

Poderia informar qual a diferença em termos de velocidade e performance entre essa bike que possui aro 20 e a BASALT que possui aro 26 ????? Qual a influência destes aros de tamanhos diferentes ????? Por favor, ajudem 😂😂😂

Great video can you tell me what is better the Mokweels Scoria or magic cycle i need your opinion.
@EbikeReviews
@EbikeReviews 8 месяцев назад
Two different ebikes. The build quality of both is very good. The Scoria now has a torque sensor, the Magicycle Deer currently does not. I have heard a rumor that they will switch to it. The deer has rear suspension, the Scoria does not. The deer has a much better display, you can customize your PAS levels and other settings. The Scoria is very limited and can't the PAS can't be adjusted. For my body weight, the Scoria would go further because its a 48v, the Deer being a 52v uses more energy so I would get less range. I hope this helps and doesn ot make it more confusing.

Mokwheel has upgraded many components this year, I would hope they would offer a better display in the future.

Is there room to put a foot peg and a seat in the back for young kids?
@EbikeReviews
@EbikeReviews Год назад
Its certainly not designed for that, but you may be able to make it work. The rack is 7X16" I have not done anything with foot pegs so I'm not sure how they attach, but there is a small hole on both sides that is maybe 1/4". The problem I see, is keeping little feet out of the wheel spokes.
@EbikeReviews
@EbikeReviews Год назад
Sorry Ken, I answered below regarding the Ranger S video I just released. I missed the fact you were asking about the Scoria. The Scoria is 7X18 rack, and the rear axle seems to have enough room you could attach foot pegs behind the axle nut. So it may be possible.

I’m in the market for two bikes to ride with my wife and possibly pull a trailer with kids. Would you say this is a good bike if I can only afford one type at the moment and bypass the Basalt? Would like at times to do long rides I like that it’s like 10” shorter than the basalt for portability was looking at Jupiter Atlas also
@EbikeReviews
@EbikeReviews Год назад
The Scoria is my favorite ebike. I am 6'1" and I can easily ride it. People that are smaller, can easily ride it too. I like that it is smaller, and easier to handle. We took it on a 30 mile ride and it still had about 40% of the battery left becuase it has a large battery, 19.6amp. With the 20" tires, you can still go off road if you need to. The Scoria was designed to be a "utility/cargo" bike, so it has a lot of torque compared to many other brands, so it should pull a trailer just fine. Its not a perfect bike, but its a very good bike and you wont be disappointed if this is what you choose.

Is it torque or candance sensor?
@EbikeReviews
@EbikeReviews Год назад
My bike was the early version with Cadence. They ship with Torque sensors now.
@kenc6602
@kenc6602 Год назад
I just test drove the Abound. From my experience between a candance and a torque is very different. Most candance you will be feeling like ghost pedaling, while the torque you feel like stepping on a cloud.

Who care what you don’t like ? Wood looks cool. Drill holes. In rack. If you don’t like bike. Get rid of it.
