All I will say is listen to their cover of Percy Sledge's 1966 hit, "When a man loves a woman"....you'll be wowed by his lead....it's amazing. Take a chance on it, I think you'll be like "Holy Moly".
I just love watching noobs fall ever deeper down the rabbit hole that is Home Free. It just gets deeper and deeper. It's a damned black hole, and it's wonderful. Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.
These guys do an amazing job of this song! They can do any genre including R&B. Rob's voice has so much feeling & soul in it. Austin adding his higher tones, Chance harmonizing in the back, Tim adding some bass & Adam with his fabulous vocal percussion. These guys are my favorite a cappella group out there. All their songs are good whether it is serious, heart warming or funny.
Home Free is much more than a country vocal band. They do all genre's. And if they decide to do a cover song you are in danger of liking their version better. Their take on Unchained Melody is amazing. They do not copy the original but pay homage and make it their own. I don't like it when groups " copy" the original exactly.
Shawn Stockman from Boyz II Men was a judge when they were on Season 4 of The Sing-Off and some of the guys were fans of that group. For that reason, having Shawn compliment their singing was a huge deal to them. You should consider reacting to their Sing-Off performances with the judges' comments. You can find all the videos on RU-vid.
I don't know if you know but they were on a TV show called The Sing Off. On the show Shawn Stockman was a judge, and he absolutely loved Austin's (long curly hair) voice. Of course they won the 4th season. Enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.
Homefree is the best! They never ever disappoint! Great reaction!! There are lots of fries out there and they will follow these guys anywhere! We love them! Great reaction! Thanks 🎶❤🎶
Home Free are multi-talented. You should check out Tim Foust Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay it will blow your mind! Austin has some singles as well. They have some original songs Dive Bar Saints and Catch me if you Can. welcome to the Home Free Rabbit hole! Love your reaction!
Home Free is amazing. They can sing any genre, they have a wicked sense of humor and all are so talented. If you love bass, try Brothers in Arms, I Can’t Outrun You (Chance in the lead, he’s the baritone/bass). So many good songs. Rob (lead here) is the tenor, Austin (redhead) is the high tenor. Tim is the bass and has a 5 octave range. Chance is the baritone/bass and Adam is the beatboxer. Good reaction Jmax
Great reaction to the guys! Hope you will try more like Can't Stop the Feeling, One Man Band, Love Train, or Let's Get It On medley. If you watch Workin For a Living, it shows all their names and it's bluesy also. Thanks from a recent Home Fry!
As far as I'm concerned all of the Home Free guys "emote" through their music/videos better than just about anyone else out there--and in this one Rob showcases his gospel/R&B genius in a way that seems to surprise everyone ❣️❣️❣️
Hey Jmax, want to hear all of their voices along with Don Mclean, react to American Pie, I really think you'll love it!!! Great reaction and waiting for more of them!
I love Home Free. especially when they change up their covers. In my opinion covers should never try to copy the original exactly, I mean what is the point of that...we have all heard the original and appreciated it.
@@JustJmax The other point than this not being karaoke is that they are making the music with their voices. It the Boyz acapella version they also don't do that note because there aren't enough voices to make the music and do that part.
Hello, just subbed, another super loyal Home Free fan!!! Love, love them, been to six live shows. Incredible, like stand-up comedy (they are super REAL and fun and funny as you will see) and talent galore! Happy you are on the HF journey and we're with you!! So many kinds of music they do. Look forward to seeing what you like most. Take care.
Yes Rob nailed it. There is so much soul in his voice. Really great singing. But of course the others were great too. Home Free is simply number 1 for me. All such beautiful voices with their own specialties, great harmonies, the deep bass, the background sounds and then of course those incredible beatboxing/percussion/mouth sounds. But their brotherhood and their beautiful personalities make Home Free just perfect
I understand your love for that particular note in the original, but they are doing their version of the song and in their own way. I like that they saved that note for the finale.
You are correct the beatboxer / vocal percussionist is Adam Rupp! Check out his drum solo if you haven't done it yet! There are many out there all are good!
There's only one mistake you can make with Home Free -- listening to "Mayday" too soon. You don't get maximum enjoyment from this great performance until you know all the guys and their voices. For most reactors, that's at least 6 reactions to other HF performances. You had a great performances by the two tenors -- Austin Brown (lead in "Man of Constant Sorrow") and Rob Lundquist (lead in "End of the Road".) As others have commented, all members of this group have amazing voices...and there's Adam Rupp--one of the best beat boxers in the world. Tim Foust (basso profondo) solos in many HF performances, and he will drop sub-bass notes on you without warning (always wear headphones when you listen to HF!) Adam Chance (who goes by his last name to avoid confusion with Adam Rupp) provides a rich baritone voice and is capable of going well beyond that range. Good examples of Chance's voice are found in "Some Girls Do", "Cover Me Up", "The Gambler", and "American Pie." Adam Rupp is a human drum kit. During HF's live shows, he does a "drum solo." One of those drum solos is here ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EanKWLUaDpg.html ) Welcome to the Home Fries!
New sub here, you can't go wrong with any of their 175 or so videos but a couple of must see's would be When A Man Loves A Woman, American Pie, and How Great Thou Art. They have a new release that is only on their Facebook for the video, a cover of Garth Brooks Ain't Going Down Till The Sun Comes Up.
Recommendations: You have heard Austin, Rob, Tim and Adam Rupp on beatbox, but so far you haven't heard Adam Chance clearly. For that reason, I am recommending "I Can't Outrun You", "Cover me Up", and/or "Working For a Living". The first two are slow country ballads that really feature Chance as the soloist, the last is a Hewey Lewis and the News cover performed very tongue and cheek and it's more of an ensemble piece with a great no-monica solo from Adam Rupp and a chance to hear everyone a little. All three have the advantage of not getting reacted to as much. Other than that, you probably can't find a bad song. I'm partial to Fulsom Prison Blues, Blue Ain't Your Color, Crazy, Hillbilly Bone.... yeah really you can't pick a bad one. Oh yeah you also have to hear "When a Man Loves a Woman" (for Austin) and "Butts Medley" (just for lolz).
Nice reaction! I subscribed on your last reaction to Home Free for more Home Free & here you are! Thank you! These guys are incredible! No matter what they do, they do it to perfection, even their totally goofy stuff! They just have the "IT" factor that none of the other groups have! Their original songs are amazing & their covers are upgrades! My favorite original is "Catch Me If You Can"!😊
Home Free is amazing. I found them around the same time I found Steve 'N' Seagulls. If you haven't heard of them, I suggest you listen to Steve 'N' Seagulls - Thunderstruck.
Lol nice reaction. For something fun try Butts remix.. it actually says Butts medley. If you want to hear Austin blow your mind check out When a man loves a woman. They don't have a bad song. Hope you go down the rabbit hole 🕳 🙂 😋
Love you reactions! Songs you might react to are Home Free - Can't Stop the Feeling or Love Train for fun get out of your seat dancing, or one of their originals such as Dreamer or Land of The Free. I haven't heard a bad song by Home Free. That means I'm just biased or that's why I love them soo much.
Listen to Mayday, When a Man Lives a Woman, or try any of their Christmas music Oh Holy Night, Mary Did You Know, or one of my favorites How Great Thou Art! They have so many wonderful songs!
You really can't pick a bad song. We Fries all have our favorites but there isn't one song I would turn off, even if I wasn't a fan of the original. I have so many favorites I'd literally say go look at their songs and pick one that appeals to you. You won't be sorry no matter what. Thanks for another great reaction.
HF did a great job! Rob has a lot of soul! Listen to their version of unchained Melody and When a man loves a woman & toAmerican Pie with Don McLean! Nice reaction!
Welcome to the rabbit hole...pull up a chair and get comfy. Yes, Home Free calls themselves country but they do anything they want. Check out their take on "Love Train" originally done by the O Jay's back in the 70s. If you want to dip your toes into the country feel, try "Hillbilly Bone".
Well we need you to complete the trifecta of A Capella and react to VoicePlay. They are the theatre kids of the 3 groups but just as good and powerful in their own way (Home Free is my fav but VP is up there). They also have a variety - Hoist The Colours, Eleanor Rigby, Carry On Wayward Son, or The Little Mermaid Medley are all good starts.
You're really destined to enjoy this journey and as it's happened before the Home Fries will support your channel. I'm fairly sure this is about a couple who have come to the point where it's her first time and he's pretty determined to get her in his bed and not let him down again. If you want another great one, check out When a Man Loves a Woman where Austin (high tenor) takes lead. Bless the Broken Road or Blue Ain't Your Color. Of course there's Brothers in Arms with Tim and Chance doing leads and no beatboxing. Tim does a tremendous job with Peter Hollens on Misty Mountain from the Hobbit. Mayday is also aust, but you want to wait until you're familiar with the guys and their roles before you see Mayday. I'll be with you on this journey because I get great satisfaction when I see someone else enjoying them as much as I do.
ok.. HOME FREE is one of my tops of course, so there is another a Capella group I like called Filharmonic (a Filipino A Capella Group).. they got their start just like Home Free on a show called SING OFF, and there is actually a vide of both groups going off in a Faceoff..and it is alot of fun.. so if you wanna see HOME FREE in their beginnings and get introduced to FILHARMONIC.. check out the video of Sing Off 4 Face Off - Home Free vs The Filharmonic - "I'm Alright" From Caddyshack
It wasn't exactly like the original, but they aren't exactly like Boyz II Men. They have a real knack for making a song their own and still respecting the original.
My favorite singer-songwriter is friends with Homefree and lives in Nashville as well as the high tenor Austin and the bass Tim. The bearded tenor is Rob and the beatboxer is Adam. Anyway they won the Sing-Off season 4 and got Avi Kaplan who was season 3 winners Pentatonix bass to record with them Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire. Homefree Ring of Fire ft. Avi Kaplan ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0l3dsHCScxU.html It is pretty epic. If you add Avi (he left Pentatonix and now is solo) you already have started to react to Tim Minchin and that's fabulous.
Voice Play is another acapella group with an awesome bass, Geoff Castellucci and they are a bit more theatrical. They are all friends & help each other out with arrangements and such. Also love Avi, his solo stuff is amazing. Tim, Chance and Austin are doing some solo stuff on RU-vid and collaborations with others as well. Tim & Peter Hollins is good and Chance also sings with him. Avi & Geoff are both worth reacting to. And if you want something totally different but equally as wonderful try a bit of Aussie rock. John Farnham (always live esp with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra). Jimmy Barnes with Cold Chisel in his pub rock days or more recently his soul stuff. And then both together with When Something is wrong with my Baby. And Guy Sebastian, Kate Ceberano, Paul Kelly, Little River band, Crowded House etc. So much great Aussie Music. Great reaction
@@donnam5891 I didn't mention Voiceplay because Geoff was not in this collaboration and he lives in Florida. If we are expanding to Australia though you have to add Tim Minchin. Tenor but a fabulous composer and lyricist. His whole family is quite musically talented. "Carry You" by Tim is great done by either him or (as he said a proper singer 🙂) Missy Higgins. That's another idea - Voiceplay doing a medley of "Back to the Outback" Disneyish animated film Tim voices the koala in.
Home Free did NSYNC's -Bye Bye Bye, they had it ready if they needed a challenge song for the Sing Off. It doesn't get a lot of plays but it makes me giggle ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XdjL3tt4Tz8.html
I think you might be the first reactor I've listened to who pointed out how cringe the original lyrics sound today. Don't get me wrong, this is an amazing cover, but the whole "you belong to me" and "you really love me girl you just don't know it" don't play well today.
Home Free is great.... But.. Voiceplay.... 👀👀👀 I'd recommend starting with something chill like their We Don't Talk About Bruno cover and then moving on to their more heavy hitting stuff.
