I was going to have my dinner @ Mahbub just next door & happened to see your video and decided to try out the food . It's not bad and certainly price is reasonable. The boss was not aware he was in your video till I showed it to him and he was very surprised. I told him he's now famous and because of your video, all lot of new customers will be coming to try the food. I'm going to try his Briyani the next round. Good work!🎉
And also when he said "cafe again" after she said "cafe" when they were deciding where to go after lunch ...obviously Jimmy likes rich, greasy food while iChang prefers things that are a bit more refined, subtle ... I dunno why I get that idea? 🤩😊
This is one of my fav food! Mint sauce is a must to be paired with tandoori naan. Some places didn't have the mint sauce so I always ask first before ordering. Kapitan has one of the best tandoori naan set, it stays fluffy & juicy despite being takeaway and eating it hours later. My fav branch is in the one opposite the Queensbay Mall in Penang😉
Watching both eating this Tandori Set in the middle of the night, makes me hungry. The Tandori chicken is so tender and juicy, Yummy! in Kuching also have this, it is 5 min away from my house, but they only open during the day time. Jimmy have New gadget?
Kapitan is my favourite Indian restaurant in Penang, I prefer their claypot briyani as it used spices that smell very fragrance. Next time u should try their briyani tandoori chicken or grill lamb. If tandoori chicken is too dry and want to have gravy would recommend Dalgona briyani chicken, the gravy is thick and flavorful.
This is my personal rules of thumb: For a meal with the price more than RM10, the portion is too big enough for one person, or "worst" you need to share it. * Not worst, but wasting food is a bad thing, right. So, I will not risking from ordering/buying too many food if it reach that kind of price for a plate. But if you get the small portion for that kind of price, I will ban that shop/restaurant forever as it is damaging my pocket and not filling my stomach 😅 Foot note: Price per plate, not including beverage and side food.
If you go to melaka, please try pak putra cheese naan and chicken tandoori. They also have other delicious side like creamy spinach and spicy Indian potato. This is the best naan and tandoori I ever had 😄
Kapitan is one of favourite restaurant in penang. Fav dish is chicken milani, taste like buttermilk but more creamy & cheezy. Used to eat in ttdi. The tandoori has the good smoked taste.happy to see u & jimmy manage to eat here!
I have only respect for you both.. you seem to have memorized all malaysian names for things like ulam, seri muka etc.. Consider making msia your first home, then!!! You have blended well with the locals and local things..
Lovely share on a beautiful Sunday! Thank you Jimmy and iChang! There's another spot in Bangsar that you can try. Tsuka restaurant serving varieties of Malaysian food.
*I vividly remember iChang used to eat with Fork&Spoon whn she 1st arrived in Spore. Later on when she visited Msia the 1st time she ate with her bare fingers 1st time too* *And since then thr was NO TURNING BACK!!! WELL DONE iChang*
Behind Kapitan there is a Food Court (Medan Selera) beside AA Pharmacy where the legendary Indian sweet apom & kueh2 stall, also a legendary kari kepala ikan.Should try. Both stall are local bangsar resident makan favourite spot.
The Nyonya will beg to differ on this, because they claimed Kari Kapitan is of Nyonya(Malay/Chines) origins. This is by no means invalidating your comment though.
It's a good thing Jimmy did not order the briyani as well.. I doubt if he could have finished it. Would have to ' tapau ' . The Peep cafe looks real interesting. Must check it out. Love your vlog. Thanks guys.
Alhamdullilah Syukur sgt Indah Malaysia ku.. Dan makanan sedap2 pula... Alhamdullilah.. Subhanallah... Dan semuga mereka mendapat Hidayah Islam dan terus menetap di sini sbg Ummat Nabi Muhammad saw... In Sha Allah...
Thanks very much I Chang and Jimmy for sharing places you all go and also places or restaurants where you all have your food.... very interesting. I am discovering more from your videos, thanks very much and God bless both of you always.
Thank you for introduce some of your fav spot, even thou i'm rarely go bangsar but i'll just write down on my notes just in case if go there..and try the cafe...look so comfy..
As a Penangite, I was wondering how is Kapitan 'hidden' 🤣 but Peep is a good recommendation as always. Also did not know Malaysia has own Cacao production, however small it is. Also, very funny to see Jimmy's hand holding the selfie stick pose... 😁
there are a lot of cacao plantations, even my late grandmother used to have a small kebun koko next to her house. growing up I used to eat raw cacao too. we have our own Lembaga Koko Malaysia, cacao museum etc. it's a fairly big industry for a local produce but I saw on the news today that we still need more cacao production just for the local consumption. we Malaysians drinks too much Milo I guess 🤣
@@Ruriko.Ymy 9 acre orchard in Raub used to be cacao farm. Cannot not make money and too much work. After harvesting, have to peel the fruit, ferment in gunny sack and then put under the sun. I then hired excavator to do terrace, uprooted cacao trees to plant MK durian trees. I am glad I did so, now producing world class durians.
Hello Jimmy and I Chang There are jantung pisang at the morning market. The first table you stop. You should try the jantung pisang recipe. IT is So good
Aha.. Why do I feel like u already visited Kapitan before.. Their specialty is the briyani, tandoori and also 1 of a kind menu of Chicken Milani. And pls do visit again at dinner time as Bangsar outlet serve fresh hot Almond Milk like in penang. U can see the cart across ur table there.
There's another newly opened Kapitan branch at PJ State, I believe less than a month but there are so many people everyday. The food must be good then.
Thank you for this recommendation to Kapitan. I tried it after this video. The naan was quite good. May I suggest Bala's, WTF, Annapurnam which are all in Bangsar area too Great videos. Keep up the good work
Whenever I get to Penang, the first stop even before hotel check in, will be Kapitan for their claypot kambing Briyani. And it never finished there, we will bungkus the same food for dinner. I'm not sure if this Kapitan has some relationship with the one in Penang. If they do, their claypot kambing Briyani is a must try
I just order via grab the tandoori set. it looks tasty so got to try. Never went to this restaurant before, Also partly its at "atas" area (TTDI and Bangsar)
