Sabbeys 7750 Once you have chalkbrood fungus ascosphaera apis it isnt going away . Best scenario is hatch out that brood on infected frame and destroy the infected frames If you move those frames to another hive in the future you spread it
Hi there chalk brood is seasonal I get mine in early spring or just before usually in queens which laying heaps of eggs ,if you see mummys out the Front of you hives not worry too much as this hive is cleaning it up. If you have spare sealed brood combs add to infected colonies ,chalk brood is airborne so all hives will have some but maybe not easy to see as can be capped over .I have been trying essential oils and spiralina also do your research on this it's quite amazing healthy bees over come chalk brood poor genetic queens will get extremely high numbers of infection ,give brood frames from healthy colonies this will remove most mummy from cells requeen using a queen within in your apairy which shows little or no chalk brood problem solved kind regards Allan
Also nectar flow will and can be the cause , Don't be afraid to feed sugar syrup with your patties 30/70will stimulation to brood rearing ,eg a good nectar source chalk brood will get less and less in dearth condition opposites occur , spiralina will flush the bees gut it also has two essential amino acids which bees need to break down proteins .
