Napier is so beautiful. Love going there for the food and the shopping 😊 and the best ever antique shop in Ahuriri. You're giving me "I must go again" vibes!
Aaahh my home town, I miss you, see you in couple years when I visit. Thanks for the video for much needed visual reminder of home, Glad you enjoyed it.
It’s a beautiful place to live (as most of my family is still there ) but you’ll want a decent paying job and research the area you want to live in , a lot of my friends have moved back home to Napier after being in Australia for many years , there’s just something nice about the Bay 😎
We were just in Miami which is another art-deco hub! Such a cool and classy style that really adds to the ambiance of places like this. Great video guys! 😎
Beautiful place to visit ❤️ very colorful wauw the car is amazing 😻 super way to see Napier in an other view . Great video hope you have a great week 🥰🥰
Loved our visit to Napier a few years ago. We did the tour on the land train, which was beautifully restored. I really liked the Norfolk pines all along the seafront. Looking forward to your Havelock North visit, we went to a great restaurant there.
@@DanegerAndStacey, I just looked on Google maps and it's called Maina, on Havelock Road. This was 4 yrs ago though, it was the i-site that recommended it. We had a lovely lunch. Hope you take us up Te Papa next, love watching your videos.
Love Napier ❤ The Art Deco is fantastic ❤Your car tour looked great , the car suited you , and your filming of it all was fab - Great video ....Oh that pizza has made me soooo hungry....I could almost smell it ! 😋
I love Napier! I went a long time ago, about 8 years and they have really amped it up! It looks so lively. I still have a piece of drift wood from Black Pebble Beach!
Hawkes Bay is the only place I'd want to settle on the north island. so looking forward to the series! Elephant Hill has the best wine, you guys have been there before I believe
Wow a 1940 Packer Six convertible I love that car. With right hand drive too nice.👍🏻 Stacey l@@ks great riding in the back of the Packer! Glad things are getting back to normal the world and NZ. Loved Napier 1930s looked very cool. And as always Stacey and the NZ coast looked great. Coffee and Pizza your my kind of people. Cheers 🍕🍕🧔🏻
I was in New Zealand from 2014-2015 and went to Napier for an All Blacks match, its a cool town! I did a tour of the old prison which was very interesting, you could still see the damage from the earthquake and they say its haunted! It was definitely worth the visit!
Harriet and I echo the sentiments of the previous commenter. Miami comes to mind with art deco . But Napier, lives and embraces it . A very enjoyable video from you guys. And Stacey, I am with you in thin crust , big slice pizza. Delicious.....! P.S. We will let you know soon what the name will be of our new dog. Sending you lots of love 💖💖 Jim and Harriet. Richmond, Va.
Just between us... we definitely prefer Napier to Miami 🤫 That pizza was incredible, could use a slice now! Can't wait to hear the results (crossing our fingers for Peppa!)
Thank you for the videos of the east coast of the North Island, it is truly stunning, just like the rest of the island. Could I ask you for some advice - we are planning a trip to the South Island, would it still be pretty cold in early Sept or should we wait until late Sept/mid October? We went to the North Island in mid October and the weather was lovely, but I’m guessing the South Island will be colder. Thanks, and keep those wonderful videos coming. Cheers, Sue.
Thank you for watching! Of course you can 😊 The weather is a hard one to predict these days but you're right, the south is definitely colder. September marks the start of spring so you'll get sunny days - Honestly, if you have the right clothes, any season is beautiful! Just bring layers!
I live in Hastings and was living in napier for a while from 2019-2020 but I've always been around this area all my life. It's weird seeing Napier from a tourist perspective. I know all those roads. I've been in all those buildings. But it just looks so much better on here 🤣 makes me excited to go and then I remember...I really hate Napier's streets. It's too busy for me. Never tried Vinci's though! Might go there tomorrow and check it out 😁 thanks for the video ! Hope you guys enjoy your stay in the bay!
Haha we love hearing from locals! We hope we did you and your city proud.Vincis is definitely worth braving the streets for, we really enjoyed it! Have you been yet?
Such a cool town and way to see it. We agree with Stacey that eating is an activity. Question: When are you going to do a pizza comparison tour in Italy?
Hawkes Bay is hands down NZ's best kept secret IMO. Well, becoming less and less of a secret for obvious reasons. Great video as always, thanks for sharing :)
This video was posted "a year ago" -- which would have been shortly before the massive Category 2 Cyclone Gabrielle smashed into Napier and Hawke's Bay on February 14, 2023. The Bay's towns and farms suffered massive damage, wiping out dozens of bridges, hundreds of miles of roads and thousands of acres of farmland. During the immediate aftermath, 4,000 people were missing. The storm crippled the area's economy for months afterward and the 2023 Art Deco Days Festival was cancelled. With great courage and dedicated effort, the community has moved through its recovery steps. The 2024 Art Deco Days were celebrated with gusto.
Living in Napier, you dont see it as an art deco city, or any thing spectacular. i suppose you see the same thing everyday, and it becomes normal. the only disappointment i have with the city, is when the port was built, it changed the running of the ocean which carved out the nice sandy beaches we used to have. Now its all stone.
We see our own city the same way, definitely just comes down to what you're used to. We love seeing places through a tourists eyes! Oh thats such a shame about the beaches!
knowing you like some american sports teams (bulls, flyers) do you like american pizza? if so which style is best in your opinion? i'll give you hint...the answer is Chicago. 😆
@@DanegerAndStacey I live in Kailua Kona now but whenever I get back to my hometown Chicago I always make it to Aurelio's. Like Chicago is often overlooked as a tourist destination despite its wealth of activities, history, music sports etc, Aurelio's is often overlooked when journalists put together lists of Chicago's best pie. Two caveats, however: do not visit Chicago in winter unless you wanna freeze your nards off and beware of deep dish pizza; it is good but filling as fuck. If you have never had it, order one size smaller than you would a normal pizza. Cheers!
