NASA’s Mars rover, Perseverance, is on its way to the Red Planet with the goal of seeking out evidence of life there. How will we know that evidence if we see it? That's the magic of science. I'm not there yet, still a long ways off (think around a decade, before I get my Master's or a PhD) but I want to become an astrophysicist. The thing about science is that you won't be stuck in a dead end job you hate, you chose your path and made an educated choice, if you hate it maybe you should've done better.

Very informative video. Especially about the choice of location on Mars and the parallels that it has with fossilized records on Earth. Most other videos on this mission only focus on the rover, its instruments and how it's getting to Mars.

No the rover also collects other data. But still we will never really know if there hasn´t been life on Mars. Because we can never proof something that doesn´t exist as there are no samples of it.

I hope we don't end up like the movie "Life" or at least, we don't bring back some virus that wipes out all life on earth like it did on Mars. (Of course, we don't know yet) but it'll definitely be exciting, if Mars was safe, and we could travel to Mars, and terraform it.

Exactly my thoughts too. The SpaceX crew dragon launch came during initial demonstrations over George Floyd's murder. It was such a weird dichotomous weekend. But ultimately these kinds of missions feed my heart with hope. Hope about our future as a species and our planet's future safety, when more humans can live off world and keep earth less spoiled.

No one is talking about WIND energy on Mars, as I do not believe that solar power is in any way practical for Mars, because of the wind, dust, low sunlight, and the prospect of global dust storms. Wind energy is crucial, solar will fail.
