Hi Buddy Once again great video 👍! I’m from ex Yugoslavia and wanted to let you know that Tito wasn’t dictator! We had a great and respectful country!!! With our passport we could travel everywhere without visas!! Yugoslavia was so different from another communist country in the region!! Regards!! Keep on traveling!!!
I love the scenes when you are driving with the sheep on the road! Reminds me of my childhood in Ireland. Driving down the country always came across farmers with sheep and cattle on the roads! Beautiful scenery.
'I know of two tragic histories in the world - that of Irealnd and that of Macedonia, both of them have been deprived and tormented' ~ Roger Casement (Irish Patriot) P.s. There is no NORTH IRELAND and NORTH MACEDONIA, THERE IS ONLY IRELAND AND MACEDONIA! Greetings from Macedonia to our Irish brothers! Truth must prevail!
@@user-hb5ri3fk2w Northern Ireland is British. That is the way the majority of people want it. We in Southern Ireland are a Republic which is what we want!
@@user-hb5ri3fk2w Majority rules. Majority of people in Northern Ireland are British! It goes way back in history. We do not want Northern Ireland anyway. It would be far to expensive for us. NI gets huge money from the UK. They have a free Health System the NHS. We do not have this. I have relations in the North and no way do they want to become part of Southern Ireland. It is really only a few Nationalists causing trouble. Most people are very happy with things the way they are. I love my trips up North but always glad to get home.
Gabriel you are always welcomed in Macedonia, you have a lot to see here we have beutiful Monasteries, small village, wonderful mountains, small towns, very cheap, great food etc.
Well done, well done. Bravissimo! My congratulations, and continue with very interesting information from your travels. Macedonia is a beautiful country. Best regards from Croatia.
@@isaacharton7851 You are clearly uneducated. The supposed ethnic (or Slav or North) Macedonians are Slavs. Alexander the Great took part at the ancient Olympics (only allowed to Greeks) and spoke Greeks. Macedonia was a Greek tribe...
Love these kinds of videos! There's nothing cooler than exploring tiny little towns & villages in Europe.. Everyone does the main cities & tourist spots.. but if you want to see what life is like in these areas, head out to the towns that everyone passes by
You are so correct! If you want to get a true sense of the country the culture and the people you have to explore and get out from the big cities. Gabriel is my kind of traveler!✌
Travel How is Macedonia underrated? Thessaloniki airport alone has many tourists each year. Chalkidiki , Pieria beaches also, many tourists from the Balkans. Do you mean North Macedonia?
@@ioanniskoletis8300 ahahah there's always one... you knew exactly what I meant you just wanted to make a point. Good job, you did! Hope you can sleep better tonight! 🙌🏻🤣
Don't you just love it when you grab the wrong food item in a foreign country and you had your heart set on what you thought you purchased 😂😂 At least you had nice company for your brunch 2 cute dogs. One of the lovely things about Europe, there are always cats and dogs everywhere to keep you company; but sad at how many are homeless and starving 🙏🙏 Stay safe !
Hi 👋🏻 . I don’t even know if you’ll ever see this, but i was watching videos of people walking through Macedonia because i miss it so much and i didn’t expect Prilep at all. It’s so cool to see you walking through my hometown where I’ve grown up. Thanks man.
Originally an Oregonian, I lived in Los Gatos CA for 20 years then moved to the Big Island 20 years ago. With the world today, am so glad to live on a mountain where there are more cows than people. I traveled around quite a bit from 2003 to 2012 and no longer have the itch. I do love traveling around on your shoulder though Gabriel. Been watching Willits/Mendocino fires, now that its October hopefully things will settle down soon. Safe Travels to you and all of yours.
Great opening tune. At any moment I was expecting Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef to pop out! That last dish could have used some nice melted cheese imo. Looked like a fascinating trip!
Even though it was difficult at first to find the way to access the trail---all the meandering you had to do turned out to be very interesting! A lot of cool stuff to see ♥
1:10 - 1:18 even if im not thirsty i always stop in running water cranes like that to drink some cool water of wonderful balkan mountain range springs. once upon a time, cranes like this was the only source of water and village women going there to take water gathered and talking about life and gossips. my great grandmother used to keep telling my mother how difficult it was for her to walk for kilometers caring big handmade clay jugs full of water every day but how excited she was for those gatherings and talks... many cranes of that period still remains in our mountains and should be considering historic places IMO. most of them are marvels of folk art.
@@isaacharton7851 Then what is the Greek north? Vergina, Pella all these Macedonian cities? They are Greek. So, if Macedonia is in Greece, what exactly is the country north of it?
A small trivia. When Germans arrived in Kratovo in the WW2, they said, well, we arrived at the end of the world :). At that time the town was a dead end. No road from there anywhere. You could only go back. :)
You can hike to the cross of Markov Kuli near Prilep, in fact I reached it on foot last year. There are some nice ancient monastery at the foothills too. Small towns Prilep are very interesting. - greeting from Southern CA.
It is unfortunate you had no one to show you all the good spots and to drive you up to the Pelister national park. Still a very enjoyable video. Thanks for visiting our part of the world and I hope you enjoyed your stay.
1:49 My half of entire ancestry from the past 3-4 generations was buried here up that hill. I can't believe someone like you visited Bitola and Dihovo. Amazing man!
@@GabrielTravelerVideos We moved to NY back in 1999. We still go back every few years. I haven't been since 2017 though. It was nice to watch you walk around my old neighborhood.
When you were in national park pelister you could have gone through trnovo and magarevo to info centar of the nacional park , ski slope kopanki and hotel molika. In some of the restorant you should try ckembe corba ( soup ) its a local delicacy in bitola .
Sour cream is good for digestion. I wish you carry Align probiotics pills with you. I do carry with them when I am on a trip. I never know what kinds of foods I may take in.
marlene mcmillan It is better safe than sorry. Yes. Gabriel is a very healthy person but I wish he would not take it for granted. We never know when our system start to get compromised. So it is better to take probiotics pills to fight infection and help digestion at the same time.
Aces. Reminded me of the Wild West. So much to work with visually and then your choice of really cool music (one song reminded me of Dire Straits, another U2) made it all jell. A+ ps I found the last Budweiser dark beer 4-pack at the 3rd place I tried here and it was very good - have to find it again.
@@saratemp790 true. That's what I like so much about him. If we really had to speculate and he had to decide for one final destination Greece could probably be his "choice of heart"...
I enjoy all your videos, Gabe, but I especially like the ones you've done on North Macedonia. I think its because it's one of the countries I'm thinking about living in.
Dear Gabriel again I would like to say Million thanks my brother it's true North Macedonia is mysterious Country and it's great to explore so keep working for us today is 1st October 2020 I hope before winter you make us ready to visit North Macedonia if COVID-19 STOP so any way we are enjoying your efforts thanks again and stay blessed in JESUS name. Amen
Gr8 vlogs Gab. I hope you willl visit Republic of Kosovo also. It's an amazing place, nature, gr8 people, food and the best of this part of south east balkan. Keep on vlogging 👍
wow! Can’t believe you were pretty close to brajcino I have many amazing old things there And I recommend you to go to bargala its a archeological site (ancient village) close to Štip.
Gabe, thank you for transport me to macedonia I enjoy your videos the hiking of this place, bathe scenery looks beautiful. Enyoy every bit of ur travels,u, won't regret. Safe travels
Hey, me again, this is getting far more interesting, i commented you on the previous video of Bitola, i offered you a beer, but in this video in 8:10 min when i saw the abandoned building i was blown away haha. That building 100 years ago was a school, and now is inheritance to my father and uncle, we actually own that building and place. As a kid with my family we spent a lots of time there, unfortenatly there was no deal made for its renewal and preservance, there were a lot of disputes, and its kinda forgotten. I havent been there for many years, and im glad you showed it to me once again. I am very surprised. I wish you good luck in your adventures, and thank you very much for showing Bitola to the world!! Cheers!!
@@isaacharton7851 Educate yourself. Your country's name is a mistake. You should be named Vardarska. You have no relation with Macedonians, these great Greek tribe!
Sour cream as yogurt, well I remember when I lived in Hamburg Germany and spend a weekend in Kopenhagen Danemark. When I come back in the night on sunday at Kopenhagen central station I bought a liter of orange juice, in the pack was an orange, but inside was milk. Well, when we travel, it is impossible to escape from a little trickery. :)
