It's the software, not the tuning. This is synthv at default. You hardly need any tuning at all.

Yeah instant mode sounds amazing and needs little tweaking, there is no reason to me to do it manually except for really specific vocal techniques

technically speaking, Weina's voice provider recorded english samples for the voicebank which helped make her sound more fluent, even compared to other chinese vocalists but this is slightly invalid now since recent synthv updates improved every vocalist's ability to sing in languages (japanese/mandarin/english/cantonese/spanish) they were not native to sing in

Check out UtaUtaUtau's cover of It Kills Me if you want to be even more amazed. It sounds too real.

It’s a voice bank. So a real singer went to a studio and sang thousands of syllables and phonetics and the computer takes them and is able to put them together depending on the lyrics you type in. Basically the computer sings using phenomes. And the tuning is done by a person to tell the computer whether to go up or down in pitch or to add vibrato. So In a way yes it’s a real person but the person didn’t sing the song they just lent their voice. It’s been around for a long time. Vocal synths really picked up in 2007 but the first ever successful vocal synth was in 1961 when an IBM sang daisy bell.

@@nathanfortun5768Dreamtonics (Synth V developer) said their latest AI model trained from multiple select sample songs instead of recording syllables and phonetics directly. This is why their AI voice banks size is under 100 MB. Most likely they only contain the model weights instead of sound samples.

@@bltzcstrnx yes some of the AI voice banks are literal AI. Others like Teto, Jun, and I think Hayden still use phonetics from artists

@@corasundae not always true. Teto’s “AI” through SynthV still used Oyomano Mayo voice and sampling the create Teto AI. Which is similar yet different than Utau teto.

Instant mode can do most of the work (in the latest update, it's manual and auto now), but you still need to tune parts of it to get it to be like how you want it to be.
