2:50 That is the Malta Freeport and not a shipyard Alex :) When the sea current is towards the beach it might get a bit dirty due to pollution from the ships, but when the sea current is towards the other way, pretty bay is one of the most beautiful beaches in Malta to swim at!

Wow! Birzie is my home town. It was great to see it, I haven't been back for years. Last time I was on holiday, one of my brothers knew the owner of a bar just opposite the beach, we had a few drinks and stayed talking and with him until the early hours of the morning. Brought back happy memories thank you Alex.

Wow! I am so happy that you did a video in Birzebugia. My parents are Maltese living in Canada and we moved back to Malta in 1971. I was only 10 years old back then. I lived in Birzebugia on Noqra Lane near St George's Bay. When I was 16 years old I moved back to Canada and haven't been back to Malta since. It was so nice seeing the streets of Birzebugia again but wow has it changed! The ship dock was never there nor the park. Pretty Bay use to be so huge. I remember going dancing at the Seabreeze club and shopping at Rizzo grocery store. My parents returned to Canada shortly after I did but unlike me they returned several times to visit relatives. Thanks for the memories Alex!

Hello Alex Nice of you to visit my homeland village. I grew up in Birzebbuga, went to Holland for a few years and guess what, came back to Birzebbuga. Missed it terribly. Pity it was raining when you visited. Hope to see you again on a lovely sunny day! Thx for the video! PS. You were very close to my house....could have dropped in for a drink 🙂 Although it was a great video, it could be richer by visiting first the local council to update you with more info where to see within the village. And that goes to all visitors as very informative within all villages in Malta. All willing to help.

Thanks for the vid on Birzebbuga. My mum was born there and I went there for the 1st time as a 10 year old back in 1988. I went back in 2000 and remember going to bar cherries which were opposite Pretty Bay drinking to the early hours of the morning. My grandparents lived in the apartments above the hardware store on St. Catherine st.
