In this video I showcase the terrible fuel economy figures I’ve been getting in my new 2023 Lexus LX600 F Sport… I would hope for something a little better than this. Heck, I managed to do a little better in my 5.7L V8 Toyota Land Cruiser 200 series. This is just a tad worse than the figures I got in my 2023 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro and 2023 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro (both sporting the twin turbo V6 IForce Max)…
To be fair, I am still “breaking in” the LX 600 here and I’ve used a combination of Drive Modes ranging from Eco to Sport S… most driving has been done in Normal mode. The larger All-Terrain Tires aren’t helping anything either of course.
What are your thoughts? What’s the worst fuel economy figures you’ve gotten before? What was the vehicle?

My 2015 Tundra TRD Pro is doing 16.5 MPG. It is obvious that the main reason Toyota and other manufacturers are dropping traditional V8s is not because of gas mileage. It is all due to the ever-increasing stranglehold of the EPA. The emissions standards are getting tighter and tighter every year, and their main goal is to make all people drive electric vehicles.

@@jtalonrider4769 23 TRD Pro Sequoia did about 18mpg combined before a lift and 35" tires. After the larger tires and lift plus an 85 lb front bumper, im getting roughly about 16 combined. Definitely, disappointed with city performance with about 14 mpg.

Literally on the highway right now and it says after refilling I’m doing about 16.6 OK I think I get about 345 miles per Philip, which is 20 gallons which means I’m getting about 17.25 miles per gallon. That’s pretty good to me for a tank.

This Lexus is absolutely amazing car, and never change that wheels, they look stunning. This is not a type of car to experiment with wheels, it is not Tundra, just leave it as it is now. Everything looks beautiful.

Well I am proud owner of 2024! LX600 advertised to get 19/22mph. Wished I could get 14mph. My average 12 to 13 mph

Same. My 2021 LC igets around same mileage, and that's with a full set of steel skids and sliders.

Same here, I get about that or better on a trip in my 16 LC built front and rear bumpers, sliders no skids.

My 21 LX570 Sport averaged 15.8-16.4 mpg calculated. It was mostly highway driving and I put 28k miles on it before moving on to the 23 Range Rover SE with the optional 23" wheels. In the Range Rover I managed to get 24 mpg (calculated) consistently and drove it for a year and put 28k miles on it just like the LX before trading it for a 24 LX600 a week or so ago. Haven't filled it yet but I am hoping it will do better than my 21 LX, but not sure if it will ever come close to my RR numbers.

So, you are only getting about 80% of the EPA rated "combined" MPG of 19 which is already pretty crappy. But let's face facts, if you are buying a Lexus LX 600 you aren't really worried about fuel economy since it's thousands of dollars of gas per year to feed that beast.

You are correct. Let's assume that it was doing 26 MPG, and the previous generation was doing 14.5 MPG; the savings will be less than $150 per month for 12,000 miles per year. For the buyer who is paying more than $100K for this SUV, the savings of $150 is nothing more than peanuts.

My 2023 Titan XD gets 15mpg with a V8. Worst ever was 12 mpg with my 21 Tacoma in the PNW mountains.

I have 27k miles on my LX 600.F sport. Never complained about gas mileage. But it makes for attention grabbing youtube titles.

I’m averaging around 17 on my lx600 with mixed driving. Still better than the 12.5 i was getting from my 21 lc200. What i have noticed is that the lx600 on the highway is really smooth. I need to watch my speed because there are times i’m doing 90 and thought i was doing 75. On my lc200, going 75 is a little discomforting. I’m not really sure why that is.

My LC200 got 16.4 mpg (calculated) on most fillips (mostly highway driving with speeds of 65-70 mph). My 24 LC300 that I just purchased last week is showing 17.9 mpg on the screen but I don't trust the onboard computers and check my own when I fill up. Hoping to crack 20 mpg as I drive conservatively and maintain speeds around 60-65 mph on highways.

Averaging 19 on my LX600 I have owned for 18 months. Mostly drive in normal mode. Your 14 reading sounds awful.

Owning an LX F Sport means steering clear of discussions about fuel efficiency. Instead, focus on its ability to outshine the GLS and X7, making them appear comparable to a Highlander or CRV. A weekly fuel cost of $120 should be a non-issue, especially considering that the LX is not typically used for daily commuting by most owners of LX.

it’s all about comfort and reliability , don’t care about the mileage .. this suv is gonna long last even when ur kids grow up to be an adult … and finally u can give it to them to enjoy it 😊.. if i had a chance to get it i would coz its LC 300 on a tuxedo the best of toyota !!

Its acceptable. Its a heavy house on wheels with big wheels. I get similar fe on my gx460. You get waaay more power and slightly better fe than the pr3vious LX. Its a win. Also goes to show that turbo engines are just for show.

Dude I thought it was just mine...I average around 13 MPG...Jeez. I can't believe they're rated at 17 or whatever..I've never seen anything near that. Half of my miles are highway and I'm still at 13 mpg.

I would avg 9.5-10 MPG in my 2015 Land Cruiser. Tires were part of the problem. Cooper STT Pro 295/55 R20. 20 inch wheels came from a Tundra.

Horsepower isn't free. People want cars with ~ 410 HP and 480 tq, it takes lots of gas to get there. Those are sports car territory numbers. That you're even getting roughly 15 MPG out of a car that weighs 5700 pounds and is about as aerodynamic as a brick is pretty impressive.

That's not good. I am waiting to get the 2024 GX with this same, but detuned, engine. And I am hoping that Lexus is on the conservative side when they give an estimate 17 MPG for the new GX. Now I'm thinking that 17 MPG for the new GX might be too optimistic. Damn.

Having a 2023 Toyota Sequoia My worse 13.5 My best 24.5 Driving her like I stole her Driving like a normal person ( mostly highway ) 🤷🏿‍♂️ My Sequoia has passed 15K miles No complaints from me. If I had the LX 600 I'd probably avg about 18/19 maybe 20mpg

It´s a long shot since I haven´t confirmed it but I saw a video from another respectable you-tuber where he tested his new Tundra (with the 3.4 twin turbo also) and was getting crappy fuel economy and he was driving in ECO mode. When he switched to NORMAL mode he got better fuel economy. I don´t know if you have those modes in the Lexus but if you are driving in other modes than NORMAL you could try it, maybe...

I have a 2023 Tundra (SR5) with a leveling kit and slightly larger more aggressive AT tires and get about 14 city and about 18 hwy. I think all the OEM's lie about the MPG figures.

I have been looking to buy a 2024 LX 600. MPG is scary bad. I would be wanting to drive this cross country a lot and the prospect of frequent stops at the gas station slowing me down is disheartening.

The in-laws dumped their gx460 ~ 15mpg for a model X plaid to skip the gas station. They also own a GX470 > 300k miles and a Ram 2500 Cummins. I think LX600 is a very tough ask given the competitive options at its price range.

I'm getting 15.5 mpg in a 2021 LC with bigger tires and 850 lbs of extra weight added(12.5 gallon fuel tank, rock sliders, skid plates, winch, duel batteries, drawers and fridge, roof rack) . Plus it uses regular gas and will go on almost every road or trail in the world...

My 2011 Infiniti FX50S v8 390hp is getting 19mpg combined and that’s with a couple fwy pulls here and there. My 2023 RX350H with F-Sport 21” wheels is getting 34.6 mpg. I originally wanted to trade in my 2023 RX for a 24’ GX550 but now reconsidering seeing all these horrible MPG stats.

Have same problem. full tank 260 ml. with 21.1 Gal tank .Its not about can you or cant afford those low miles , its about convenience to not refuel every 260 ml

I looked at the LX 600 but it was a let down for me. My LX 570 is so much better. The interior is much more commodious. It’s the smoothest riding vehicle I’ve ever driven and gets 17-18 mpg if you keep the revs below 2000 and concentrate on driving economically. I love the two piece tailgate. Totally reliable go anywhere vehicle.

MPG sounds about right. Not sure what the issue is lol. Posted EPA is literally best case scenario under the best conditions on a completely flat road. Always +/-2MPG.
