Tom, Before you get too far into the blower, have you checked and cleaned out the exhaust? A plugged up exhaust will cause a severe loss of power on one of those two stroke engines. Fingers crossed.....

Snow is a good and clean cover😊 With the Stihl blower it’s definitely worth fixing it. But first look inside on the piston if there are deep and feelable scratches, the it’s more complicated. Usually there are other probs with these engines, look on the gas tube for breaks, could be tested with slightly pressure it. Then the rubber adaptor tube between carburettor and engine could be ripped, or just bad positioning. Sometimes just a clogged up gas filter which sits inside gas tank on tube creates the probs, usually due to dirt in tank. Tank should always look clean inside, if there’s dirt, change firstly the filter. Then further steps. Maybe look on Stihl service schedule plan, because these gets you quick to solve the probs. Step by step. These older blowers are made for longtime usage, but the plastics do not withstand the rest. You may get a service set to replace all the older plastic tubes and these usual suspects. Look on the vids of Sägendoktor. on YT, you do not have to understand it, German, but his very professional way to repair chainsaws, only Stihl, shows the most efficient way how to detect faulty Stihl engines. He’s a Stihl god.

@@Concretewiththehauses for cleaning use brake cleaner and pressed air, but not on carburettor as there’s a valve inside which will be damaged by pressure. Also tank may be cleaned alike, but take off the gas tube of carburettor.

Tom, that turned out to be a pretty nice storage area. Only 1 suggestion I might have is this: BUILD A BIGGER BUILDING. 😊😊 As far as the lumber storage issue is this: BUILD A BIGGER BUILDING 😮😮. On the blower, I was pricing them at my local Stihl dealer and I thought they were in the $1000 range. I would think you could get yours rebuilt for a decent amount. I don't work on them myself. As far as the woodshop goes, being on the upper level has to be an inconvenience, but I do have an easy fix for that. BUILD A BIGGER BUILDING 🤣🤣🤣. Hopefully my theme fix is starting to creep through and be made more visible. Just put a pry bar in that moldy wallet of yours and let some of those moths get some sunlight 😊😊. Of course I'm only kidding and it's fun to spend another guys millions. You know that as soon as you build a building it's already too small before it's done. I'm no different. I no longer have the property or money to do the things I'm suggesting, so I live vicariously through folks like you and Mike Morgan. You do a great job at whatever you take on. I can still see "Haus Buildings" being a future endeavor❤❤❤.

The blower backpack. You can take the muffler off and looking into the bore to see the damage. If the cylinders all scored up from no lubricant. The bottom end tends to be more tolerant than the piston. But the parts are expensive. So your probably better to buy a new blower. Sorry for the bad news. But you probably knew this already.

You know that mothballs do nothing and what mice do not like is peppermint and cinnamon smell. I catch mice at one trap overall the ones I have placed. Plus I give them a little treat of rat blocks. On my workbench right next to the electric panel is where they seem to come in, every once in a while i put a small block of poison down and they seem to take it back to where they are living. I have plenty. Outside on each corner of the building I have bait boxes screwed down on concrete slabs just big enough so other critters don't move them. You would have laughed like i did cleaning up my property where I found a child's mattress and as i drug it out with a rake the mice were running everywhere. These people before us were slobs and we managed to fill 4 or 5 roll offs from the crap in the building and around the property.

It's my house. Yes, about 2.5" of settling in the worst spot. House was built in '55. I've been in it for 10yrs now. Had several preexisting water issues that I've since remedied. I had the foundation resupported with a combination of hydraulic push piers and helical piers. Did all the demo myself and don't all the refinishing myself as well. Only subbed out the foundation work and of course the floor. 🙂

Take the muffler off the leaf blower, and make sure the screen isn't plugged up. It will also allow you to see if the cylinder wall is scored. I've fixed 2-3 Stihls leaf blower and chainsaws by taking out the screen in the muffler. You might be able to buy a top-end kit if the cylinder is scored. I would stay away from cheap Chinese knock offs. Sithk with OEM stihl parts.
@actionhiro4222
@actionhiro4222 8 месяцев назад
I would fix the blower if the parts are approximately $150 or less. I would recommend electrical outlets and trickle chargers inside your building. It's a good idea to have at least one fire extinguisher. Furthermore. It is a good idea to have battery kill switches on all your trucks. Your machines should have them. I know someone who lost all their trucks and equipment due to an electrical fire that started in one truck and the fire spread to the rest of his equipment.

On that Stihl, pull the exhaust off and cycle the cylinder to look how much wear is on the piston. If it's melted to the ring it's possible to put a new piston and cylinder in it. Not likely that the crank is fried because it probably lost compression. Still a fair bit of time and effort to disassemble and rebuild with a new piston and cylinder. Might be a good "lesson learned" - straight gas will melt 2 stroke motors.

On the br800, did you check the valves? The valves may need adjustment. That motor is a 4 stroke but still uses mix gas. I'd take the muffler off and use a flashlight to look in the cylinder for scratches. I've also had one that had a bad ignition coil that caused low power and hard starting.
