Nah, this is stunt crap and these guys have short careers. Heli skiing with your girl and some friends in waist deep powder, and then chilling out in a log cabin are lifetime memories. A real nice goal for skiers to plan and save up for. Life is a journey not a destination.
@Chris Fetterolf This happened during an extreme skiing competition so the backflip was extra points. The mini avalanche only lasted a few more seconds.
I m not 100% sure but it looks like the so called ski skin witch prevents sliding backwards while going up the mountain. Often while back country skiing you dont go up the mountains with a ski lift instead you are walking it up by yourself so you have to put skin under your skis. Maby it is protection but i think such skin.
If you don't have proper powder skis you'll sink of course.. You at least have to have twintip skis and the bindings have to be installed a lot further back than on normal downhill skis.
Bad video title, should be "This is Cliff Jumping in Powder Conditions". When I read Powder Skiing, I think head shot freshies, waste deep powder, plowing over pillow tops. No one cares about back flips off of cliffs. Has everyone forgotten about the art of making a powder video?! ...horrible soundtrack too
