No, Jungkook is main vocalist from the debut, he was assigned this role from the beginning, but he is also sub-rapper that's why in some older songs he raps. Before debut he was auditioning for Superstar K (talent show) as a vocalist and from that competition he got scouted by entertainment companies including BigHit. By the way J-hope too is not only a rapper but also sub-vocalist

Every Group in k-pop debut with certain roles and in BTS (the members debuted with these roles)- RM - Leader, Main Rapper Jungkook - Main Vocalist, Lead Dancer, Sub Rapper, Center and Face of the group, Maknae. Jimin - Lead Vocalist, Main Dancer. Jin - Vocalist, Main Visual. J-Hope - Lead Rapper, Main Dancer, Sub vocalist (afterwards). Suga - producer and Lead Rapper V - Vocalist , lead dancer(afterwards 2018)

If i am not wrong, JK was the main vocalist since day 1. It was always supposed to be 3 rappers n 4 vocals. It's just that JK could rap as well, so he did rap in few of the songs. But eventually he decided to focus more on his vocals so as to polish his skills even further. He has a LOT of responsibilities as the main vocalist n the fact that they already have 3 world class rappers in the group, it was probably better he focused on his vocals. As good as he was , as a rapper, he brought more to the table as the vocalist. PS: I am glad you are doing Rise of Bangtan. Reason being, it will make you appreciate what Namjoon brings to the group. I am sure it's not intentional since the boys are all equally amazing, but Joon has been sidelined quite a bit when it comes to his contribution, talent n overall personality. Hoping TRoB will make you take notice of him, as much as he deserves 😔

I just wanted to say this as others have said but at the end when Tae cut his hair he actually cut some of his real hair and he was so embarresed about this that he got shy. Also the MV for Danger is amazing as always and the choreo is on point like always. Also the vocals and raps are just so powerful in this song and also this is a side note I love this emo type era of JK. Also I love e the choreo as its amazing just how hard they work and practice aswell as their feet movement

I’m a Karmy and JK was a main vocal since day one but Jungkook was good at everything. He was a vocalist but he was soooooo good at dancing and rapping so Bighit let JK to do rapping too. There’s no main vocal who can sing, dance and rap like Jungkook in the world. He’s our Korean’s national treasure and pride.

And people wonder how they got this big…this is why. They were perfection from the beginning!!!

Golden Maknae Jk is just so talented! When you see this MV + choreo, you know that they are meant to go global!

They were so smooth from the beginning because they trained for between 1 to 3 years BEFORE debut 😳 Jungkook was the main vocalist right from debut, he was always a brilliant singer - he was/is also a good rapper, really cute, and their centre, so he has always had lots of parts, which included rap especially in the early years, but he also sings right from debut. Their songs developed more singing parts as they evolved I think, and the three rappers became the ones who mostly rap and the four vocalists rapped less and sang more - their music has grown and changed as they grew up - but they were always awesome, great rap, great harmonies, tight choreo. I guess they all solidified their personal identities, and became men, and as a group they developed their skills and strengths and lifted each other higher and higher - and now they are treading a path that no one has ever walked before - kinda like the Starship Enterprise of KPop…😂🤷‍♂️ 💜💜

JK debuted as the main vocalist. I think he likes singing more, and that is probably why he doesn't do it anymore. Besides, he already has the most vocal parts and the majority of the hidden vocals. Busy guy! I'm hoping when he finally releases his mixtape, he will have some rap on it.

This dance practice is what made me an army! I didn't even know BTS existed when I stumbled upon an article about kpop choreography with a link to that video. I was hypnotized, fell right into the rabbit hole on first watch. Damn.

Whats hilarious is that when v cut the wig he also accidentally cut his actual hair 😂 it was pure chaotic behind the scenes

I still love this song after many years. If I'm watching videos it's this version I prefer but on my playlist I listen to Danger the Mo Blue Mix. 💜💜

This is still to this day my favorite Dance Practice.

I find their beginnings very special too :-) They were absolute beasts from the very start - they were searching and finding their look and style, yes, but they were top quality and serious business already as fetus BTS. You can see and feel their drive, passion and intense hunger. Its not like they were cautiously stumbling forward, they were burning that path with no hesitation or apologies given :-) Loving it. Oh the memories... :-) ... and no JK never started as a rapper, he was actually signed as the only official vocalist of the group, based on his singing merits lonely. RM came as a rapper, Suga as a producer, J-Hope as a dancer, Jimin as a dancer, JK as a singer, Jin as a visual and Tae as a secret visual weapon, whatever that means. Jungkook and Hobi developed their rapping skills first after they joined. Hobi became one of three in the main rap line, and Jungkook has become sub-rapper due to his talent for the game but priorities were obviously given to his "main vocalist front and center "- responsibilities. I miss his rapping too :-) Danger is one of my favorites. There is something about that choreo that makes it extra punchy and spicy.

When you look at them perform (dance, sing, even act), it's INSANE the way they were chosen. The fact that they weren't all your "typical" all-arounders the industry normally tries to force together makes them so so special. 7 young men with lion hearts. Bang PD definitely had an angel on his shoulder when creating Bangtan for the world. I honestly can't imagine this synergy will ever be recreated.

I have to laugh when you call J-Hope, 'J'. That could be any one of four of them. He's 'Hobi' to us and to his band brothers. I love the parts where they pivot especially the first one at the beginning when JK pivots and comes up to standing. You will hear their shoes in some recent dance practices. It's great because you know they are perfectly in sync by the sound of their feet hitting the floor together. Everyone has explained to you that JK was the main vocalist and centre from the beginning. Jin isn't a vampire he has a picture in his attic like Dorian Gray, LOL. I love his smooth vocals in this which offset the raspy vocals of the others in this song.

Young BTS hits different. Actually this is my current challenge: I'm going through their discography in chronological order. It's going slowly because I get distracted too much. But it's very satisfying. At the moment I'm doing their album O!RUL8,2? . I listen to the songs, look up the lyrics, watch the MV, dance practices and live performances. I also look for interviews, album reviews, etc. that they did around this time. It's so much fun. I love when you watch the MV and the dance practice together. It rounds it off nicely. Another combination might be MV + MV shooting sketch or MV + live performance.

I'm strongly OT7, but Danger is always about Jimin for me. Jimin is always amazing. Baby Jimin was also amazing, but baby Danger dance practice Jimin was just next level amazing. Jimin and his floppy flannel shirt will own a piece of my heart for the rest of my life.

Hi Rob! Can you do one video with the Spring Day MV, the explanation video by Bulletproof Vibes, and the dance practice? You can even add their live performance at the MMA 2017. The music videos are great but they lack the full meaning and emotion when they aren't showing the choreography. Many artists can dance, make a MV, sing but BTS combines everything. This was an amazing dance practice and you can appreciate the hard work they put into it. They are second to none!

I love 5e song and choreography but agree with you this is my least favorite hairstyle on Suga it’s just not working for him to me. But his rapping is on point. And yes they have made sharp choreography one of the hallmarks that BTS is known for, hard hitting intense choreography and all that. That evolved into the more complex choreography we now love.
