@@alondor8157 I was 14 back then and I had no idea who they were. It was part of the fun for me. My parents thought they worshipped Satan though so I wasn't allowed to get into them like everyone else, so your prob right. lol
If you feel like getting philosophical with legitimately no music - just words - check out "Omega" from Stone Sour...it's literally Corey just talking. Even just listening to it on your own time if you don't want to make it a video. I honestly used it as a monologue I had to perform for a high school English class (I had a weird but super accepting teacher lmao.)
Year 21 now of being a Slipknot fan. Can't claim OG status, even though I knew they existed, I just never listened to em before one night in 2003. Was on TeamSpeak playing Dark Age of Camelot an online MMO, and one of my guildies I was runnin with played The Heretic Anthem by Slipknot. I was bit from that moment forward. Proud to call myself a maggot. Corey Taylor is a God. One of the greats, like Maynard James Kennan. So much creativity, they gotta have multiple bands. And all of em are good.
I wish I could go back in time to hear slipknot for the first time again. 1999, 6th grade, seeing all the 8th graders wearing slipknot shirts. Buying a metal edge magazine from a small town gas station and talking my dad into getting 10 CDs for a penny. One CD I got was a metal compilation called the hard and the heavy. Spit it Out was the slipknot track on there. Along with a bunch of other bands I still listen to. But hearing that for the first time was life changing. And this video was before the Google era where you can just look up anything and most likely find it, so slipknot was still a mystery behind the masks. I loved it. Sleep Token is just repeating the excitement. You should check them out. I'm 12 all over again.
@@xxchaos315xx6 You are 100% right. No need to be humble I am sure most would say that. Or they would say self titled. There's just something about hearing the 1998-9/2002 music that is just different.
For a long time we didn’t know their faces except for Corey and Jim but slowly we’ve seen them at some point or another. Craig is the only one that has like 2 face appearances ever
FK yeah! Great reaction video, dude. Corey Taylor is phenomenal. This band is so talented and legendary. Just a recommendation for those who want something just a notch lower in intensity, check out Corey's other band Stone Sour. Equally incredible.
Cory and two slipknot members are with his first band Stone Sour but he's back and forth with the two he also has a pop song and soft rock ballad Metal
Glad you like it. Please check out Snuff. Is a Slipknot song, but I prefer Coreys Taylor performing it live and acoustic in London 2017. Greetings from Germany
As a 20+ year maggot, I understand the significance of the videos, but I feel so many don't give them a chance primarily because of their videos. I might recommend going through lyric videos first so you can understand the rhetoric before being deterred by the imagery in the actual videos. Just a thought...they're really good, and very worth an honest shot. ❤🤘
YESSSSSSSS I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE SUGGEST THE NEWER MAINSTREAM SHIT AND NOT THE REAL OG 9 that was full of passion and hatred towards the industry and the turmoil the band was going through that fueled the writing. Absolutely love Iowa. Your comment I love!!!! If you know you know about the time period and Iowa. The POA tour, Palm beach Florida 2001, London 2002 etc......
Id love to see you react to Psychosocial, Unsainted, and Devil in I... though I'd recommend not watching the official music videos cuz they might scare you.
You should check out gojira flying whales or Amazonia! They’re actually and environmentalist metal band, so they thanks inspo from nature. They’re super sick so that would be awesome if u did a vid on them :) have a great day!
You are like me except I was into metal but scared of slipknot. I love stone sour and I’m starting to get into some slipknot after giving it a chance. But I was terrified of them when I was a teen early 20s.
If you wanted to see another slower song by them, I'd highly recommend watching "Corey Taylor-Snuff live". You'll see his face and hearing it will understand why he's so respecter
We need some songs from 1999-2002. The real prime years of Slipknot. Iowa: People + Shit(London 2002) Disasterpiece(London 2002) The heretic Anthem(London 2002) Metabolic My plague + Purity(reading ferstival) Left Behind Left Behind (conan O brien show) SPIT IT OUT (London 2002)/ 2009 is good but the one in London is my favorite, little bias there Self titled: Wait and Bleed(official audio) SIC 742617000027 + SIC dynamo 2000 Dynamo 2000 5 songs Purity (Dynamo 2000) Scissors WE ALL KNOW SELF TITLED AND IOWA ERAS WERE JUST SOMETHING DIFFERENT!!!!!!!! I love the journey but I think we need to step into the beginnings not the MFKR days but self titled and the heaviest album of their career imo and the worst angriest days of their career. Much love!!!!
if you want a lil saga i’d listen to vermillion then vermillion, pt. 2 ! definitely a whiplash. also snuff, custer, and people=shit are all bangers(the last two are a bit heavy and might scare you lol)
If what you have seen so far has scared you, i will look very much forward to see how you will handle videos like The devil in i, Psychosocial, Wait and bleed, and All out of life.
I'd love to recommend "Solway Firth", but you coming in too soft for that one if the masks scaring you that bad. The video is brutal but it is clips from the show "The Boys" so if you rock with the boys, you should be good. High energy song.
