Oh yes…I have a worm tower with worms I’ve bought on Amazon and they compost the most beautiful black gold for my garden. Kitchen waste into free worm castings ❤
My grandkids are outgrowing their trampoline and don't use it much these days. In its heyday, we used to have a trampoline sprinkler that ran around the top of the netting and sprayed a fine mist. They all LOVED that, and it made mid-summer jumping much more fun. We also had LED lights around the top for evening jumping.
Wishing every time I watch a video with Art and Bri, I could make time for a thoughtful comment. Enjoy these videos so much. They are played slowly often rewound multiple times thru out the video to rewatch multiple parts and to make the video last as long as possible. If I could find the words, I could go on and on about just how much this family touches my heart.❤️I would love to know your family. The simple heartwarming family videos take me back to the days of family television programming where kids played outside, learned about nature, explored the creeks, fished, swam and just learning more about the world we share. Bri, you can make grocery shopping entertaining ❤️ and Art you are one of the best teachers and so fun to watch your children learn so much about life. Together you make such an incredible team. You are living life with careful intention while immersing and taking notice of the world around you with your children almost always at your side. Of course, viewers do not see everything but I’m betting on both of you to be sitting on a porch together, one day far far into the future. It is my hope that your marriage will continue to be healed and that you continue to share a glimpse of your life as you continue to raise your family in the most natural ways. Thank you for sharing your story z❤️
Jumping even low and softly, is perfect for helping your lymphatic system to function fully! You should jump on it as little as 10 minutes a day Bri! It us fabulously fun and sooo good for everyone!
I have had my worms in a simple large plastic food grade tote for 5 years. I recently upgraded their habitat using the same method I initially used. I love my pet worms because unlike other pets, they can be left at home without a pet sitter. ;)
Ten years ago I told my husband I wanted worms for my birthday. 😂 He thought I was a little crazy. I started with a tower and worked up to four large totes. It is so satisfying to not wast my food scraps and to get black gold for my garden. I hope your kids enjoy the journey. 🐛 I have sat and looked through the compost and gotten excited when I find their eggs. It is really relaxing even therapeutic having a worms.
Fun visit with your family as you beautify the yards & gardens. Interesting about the worm bin. Your kids will love the trampoline & the pool looks like a lifesaver in the heat! Blessings to everyone 🤗🇨🇦
I got a worm tower and an having a great time. Playing with it. If you watch 20 videos you will get 20 different ways to do it. It would be wonderful for the kids.
If you guys get strong winds and storms please stake the trampoline down to the ground. It was recommended that we do ours and we never got to it and the first storm took it away into our barb wire fence and ruined it. It flew really high. Just a suggestion. You guys might be fine. We had so much fun on ours that was similar. We plan to get another and stake it lol.
❤❤❤❤ everyone!!! The smile Truly when Bri asked her if she cooked the pie, her smiles so lovely sweet girl... Kiddos having fun in the trampoline ❤❤❤❤❤ Art is with you all❤❤❤❤God bless Be all safe
I swear by worms Bri and they love coffee grounds and banana peels. My dad kept a water trough and raised them the castings can be made into tea for gardens and fruit trees.
Cindyfinn4845 🙂Yes, that is true, worms like banana peels and coffee grounds. My garden soil is thriving and I attribute it to those two amendments. Thank you Art& Bri for your video.
@@noramax2925 I hope Art and Bri find the benefits as well I love their videos.,the Lord created every resource that He could to feed us and nurture us with His beautiful creations.
That same thing happened to me this past Spring. The stuff I got was even worse than yours with larger chunks of bark and my flowers did horribly in it even after missing in some other soil.
We finally got a good thunderstorm in Delaware last night. I’ve been putting one of those long sprinklers that arch on my pumpkins for an hour at a time. I don’t have native soil. It’s mostly sand. The builders scraped the lots of anything good🤦♀️
We're in southern Virginia and our garden was struggling too! I finally broke down and put shade cloth over the tomatoes and cucumbers. Twenty four hours later and the garden is SO HAPPY!💗
I have a worm bin, I love it, my worms love bananas and bananas skins and cucumber I like to chop things up small but also you can freeze all the skins peels and defrost when needed so nothing goes to waste.. Also when you get some castings you can add water to it say 1 cup of worm castings and fill a watering can and can uses as a feed. Also worm tea(liquid at teh bottom) some people say it does not help plants others say diluted it will feel plants, I use it diluted and its never harmed any plants. I use when planting new plants out. I love mine it’s fun, keep food covered in shredded leaves paper/cardboad to stop any flies getting to it. Love the fact they are like chickens and need crushed/powdered egg shells to break down food in their mouths.
From Australia here, to save my summer crop I have had to get poles and cable wire to put a shade cloth over the entire garden area. It’s clipped onto the wire so you can pull it Back when it’s not too hot.
Here in the northwest it completely stops raining in summer. My entire summer is spent dragging hoses and watering! Thankfully I'm on a good well. Praying you'll get rain soon!
😂😂😂 The AI voice in the beginning had me wondering if my phone was going bazurk. I closed YT, restarted everything and pushed play and still that voice was playing. Whew, i was glad to hear your real voices. 😂😂😂😂
I bought that garden soil last year and nothing would grow well in it. It too was mulchy. I mixed potting soil with some of the garden soil to help but I made sure that I checked this year. Good luck and God bless.
I've been vermicomposting for decades. I've moved down from massive heaps to a tower, and totes. I have Red wrigglers, European night crawlers, and Indian Blues. By far the Red Wrigglers are the best to have, and the calmest. Well, apart from Jerry the Rebel Houndini Worm I have. Jerry is an escape artist that gets all over my outbuilding. The worms like to know their territory, They are sensitive to vibrations, and water levels, so I've lost a lot of my Indian Blues to storm pressure fronts moving in, as they just vacate the premises. You'll need to grind down your egg shell to a powder for the worms. They use that as a grit, but also it helps keep the PH level correct in the bin, and it helps prevent protein poisoning. I'm just editing videos now, because I raided my whole tower for the castings to help repair the waterlogged damage to my beds. Your boys may be amused by some of my latest thumbnails in my vermicompost playlist. I've been having a bit of fun with them. I have had nothing but rain for months, so my plants have been drowning, whilst yours are scorched. I wish we could weather share, so I could have some of your sun, and you some of our rain.
Hey, I just thought I would share that I had those exact same worries Bri, about trampolines without the padding and the enclosed net. I'm so glad the children have this now with all the safety features to make Mom comfortable along with the children so safe. A tip I'd love to share is add a sprinkler with the heat. The sprinkler makes it the perfect cool down exercise and entertainment for the children. Nobody gets hurt on it. I mean I have 13 grandchildren and daycare grandkids. Dad have grown up with a sprinkler added to the trampoline during the summer time and it is such a fun cool down addition to trampoline fun! Please just try it even if it sounds like it's going to be slippery or something, not an element you're going to have to be concerned with but if You're worried, then try it while you are supervising. Just an absolute blast for the kids that I had to share and hopefully they will get to enjoy it too.
We had no rain for so long. And finally one night of rain. My garden is struggling too but i have gotten so e greens and two zucchinni. So far. Hope we get a second rain
I went through the same thing. I figured it would be fine outdoors. I put it in my raised beds. Terrible idea. It’s really woody like mulch. I was surprised.
I am sorry you are not getting any rain some places are getting too much rain and they are flooding. We need rain in parts of Oklahoma. We are supposed to get some rain in our area tonight we had rain Tuesday night some areas got high straight winds and tore up buildings it was al around us . Broke power poles in half there were a lot of power outages. I love your garden . Prayers and Love 💞 From Oklahoma
Wow, is it a stress factor for you; talking about the farm and the house in future tense it would be killing me. Bless you, Bri and I am glad to see you buying extras to feed that thin man of yours.🙏🙏💪💪🙏🙏
Can you link the worm tower? :) I LOVE the flower beds you created!! That's going to be so beautiful. 😍 We have a 16' trampoline just like that. I love the net, I never bought one for my kids without a net and I never would! Lol 🤣 I love the safety of the netting.
We bought that soil too and I was so worried about it but used it anyway . And to my amazement my flowers did better than the ones I had “real soil” I could not believe it .
I have found that since Covid when so many ppl took up gardening all the baggec soil i buy, and ibought tons, is mostly mulch. Every brand at all the box stores was just shredded wood chips.
I’m up here in the Pacific Northwest on Vancouver Island in British Columbia and we’re having the most unusual spring with SO much rain and so little sun that I’m absolutely jealous of your heat problems. My garden is absolutely stunted between lack of sun and slugs! 😢 So enjoyed watching you enjoying the pool with the kids! Happy summer all! X❤️X
@@GaserBeam-hi4ez haha! I hear ya! If it was like that here, my garden would be happy and I’d be miserable! Thanks for the reality check my friend, have a great summer non the less. 😄
I'm in the pnw too. I think it's going to be a green tomato year 😂 It'll be a miracle if we get pumpkins too. My Maryland family is visiting right now and enjoying the break from the heatwave.
@@TLadret I’m watering three times a day it’s been so hot and no rain, but buggy and humid 😭 true, it’s all an exchange. Tomatoes peppers corn or comfortable temps
@@GaserBeam-hi4ez I just had a little giggle to myself thinking ‘I’m watering three times a day too but actually Gods doing it for me!’ Sorry for your suffering friend. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could find a happy medium? Thanks for the reality check! 👍
Thanks for being there Art🤗. The worms are very interesting. I use worm castings because I have so little room and its very cold here in winter so an outside farm would freeze🥴. JO JO IN VT 💞
A great channel to learn about that system is vermiculture learn by doing. Enjoy you new worm bin. I hope you are recording when you find your first cocoon. So fun for the kids.
Bri. I’ve been growing echinacea for years and they flower year two and to harvest the root- is third year. You should consider hydrangea ♥️ They’re beautiful- flowers every year as long as it’s not mowed over. It depends on the acidity of your soul as to colour. I have white, pink lilac and Deep purple. … Toxic if dogs chew it 🥴. I have huskys and they never bothered with it
I have a bag of that. I had some beautiful basil that needed transplanting so I used that mulch soil. It was put in my lanai and something ate all the tops off. It has to be some kind of worm in that mulch soil. I could not figure out what ate them. It had to have come from that mulch soil. I have lost everything I have planted in it. It never dawned on me until now.
Funny enough… My last job was a worm counter/cupper. The company I worked for supplied convenience stores with worms for fishing. At the end of our shift we were allowed to take the worm castings to use on our gardens. Bonus!
omg so my mom bought the same bags. she said I can use whatever I wanted. I thought ok, so I opened one of the bags and didnt even stick my hands in it because it looked like 90% mulch. It was a no from me.
YES!!!! I bought same stuff and it wasn’t good at all and you’re right it is just like mulch not soil!! I don’t have a big garden but I have a big flower bed and some pots and totes with veggies and flowers and I planted some seed in that so called soil and they never came up , my totes with last years soil in them have tomatoes and they are doing great . So that soil is bad they should be ashamed of themselves for even selling it to the public
That's why I LOVE raised beds...you can control the soil medium so much better...both have pros and cons- raised beds will obviously take ALOT more product (so expense is higher) but garden beds can take a LONG time to get to where you want it🤷🏻♀️...I find raised beds work the best in our country...we have very dead soil here...and you can control the garden much better...our snakes are also not very friendly this side of the world😅 but earthworms are the best thank you gift you can ever give back to your plants and the earth👌❤️🌷
I am not an expert on worms, I only started this winter. Worms don't like heat. So don't put it in a hot garden. My worm hotel only started working after a month or two. I think there needs to be an ecological balance with various other organisms. Have fun with this new project.
Love the fact they are like chickens and need crushed/powdered egg shells to break down food in their mouths. Mine first went to the top and tried to get out, until the bin settled and worms settle IE when things started breaking down. Should be damp not soaking wet and not dry so if you add cardboard get it damp first. They are getting used to a new enviroment that at the moment is not optimal as peelings etc have not started to breakdown which is what they like, give it a few weeks and they will settle. I always feed mine on one side of the bin so they dont get overwhelmed and have space to move away from food if they choose to.
I know flowers bring you joy. You've got flowers galore all over the property. Beautiful, but a whole huge garden bed just for flowers? Yes, if you're going to sell them, but you have lots of mouths to feed. I'm confused. Shouldn't that huge bed be for vegetables? Just sayin' God bless you all and many prayers 🙏🏻 Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister 🙏🏻 ❤️ ☦️ 💙
We have a couple of smaller compost containers think large flower pots and a couple 55 gallon trash cans in the shade and I went and brought a couple containers of fishing worms and mixed between the containers.
